Panigale V4 2022 DDA alternative

Post image
• Upvotes

If you own and track a recent Ducati V4 you might be interested in DDA alternative I'm developing to provide huge amount of useful information to improve your track riding.

I'm testing the waters here, so let me know if you'd be interested.
I'd like to add support for more brands/models but would need to have the demand declared.

Reading datalogs between sessions: a tool that flags issues in a CSV or graph screenshot and explains why

If you log your car on track, you probably know this routine. You come into the paddock, pull the log, and stare at a CSV or a screenshot of a graph. You're trying to work out whether that dip late in the session was fueling, timing or something else. Then you change something and have to figure out if it actually helped.

PullScan is a web tool built for that part. You upload a CSV log or a graph screenshot and it runs the analysis automatically. It shows the signals and the pulls, points out where problems happen, explains why it flagged them, and gives recommendations you can act on.

These are the parts that seem most useful for track days:

  • Compare two analyses side by side to see whether boost, fueling, timing or pressure behavior improved after a change.
  • Save logs to a vehicle profile so your revisions and timeline stay organized instead of ending up in a folder of loosely named files.
  • Fix Me lets you upload a follow-up log and see whether the previous issue changed.
  • Create a shareable report to send to your tuner or another driver for review.

It's not meant to replace a tuner. It's a way to get a clearer read on a log before you talk to one, or to check whether a change did what you expected. A few owners have already posted feedback, including a BMW G80/G82/G83 owner and a Kia Stinger owner on StingerForum.org.

If you want to try it on one of your own logs: https://pullscan.com/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=threadfox&utm_campaign=pullscan_promotion

For those of you who log at the track, what do you check first between sessions, and where does reading the log usually get hard for you? Would comparing logs side by side fit how you already work, or do you have a setup that covers it?

Disclosure: I'm posting this on behalf of the pullscan.com/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=threadfox&utm_campaign=pullscan_promo team.

Gloves with wide cuffs

Im using alpine sp8 gloves. Med is a tight in the hand, but is a fight to get over my suit sleeve. Tried L and the gauntlet cuff is no wider.
My alpine suit could get tailored to take the sleeves shorter a bit.
Any recommendations? I dont notice others fighting to get their gloves on like me.

Learning track riding on a 130 HP bike vs. switching to a Duke 390, thoughts?

Post image
12 Upvotes

Hey everyone!
I’m a relatively new rider (about 2 years of riding experience) and also pretty new to trackdays. I’ve done a few trackdays so far and while I absolutely love it I’m still very much a beginner and have a lot to learn.
My current bike is a 130 HP twin-cylinder with plenty of low-end torque. It’s an amazing machine but sometimes I feel like it’s simply too much bike for my current skill level on track.

Recently I had the chance to ride a KTM Duke 390 on the twisties and I absolutely loved it. It’s incredibly lightweight, playful and easy to handle. I honestly felt more confident riding it than my current heavier and bigger bike.
That got me thinking about buying a Duke 390 as a second bike, both for street riding and trackdays.
My main goal on track isn’t to be the fastest guy out there. I want to become a genuinely better rider, improve my cornering, braking, body positioning, and overall technique.

I’m wondering whether learning on a smaller, less powerful single-cylinder bike like the Duke 390 would actually help me develop those skills faster compared to sticking with my 130 HP twin.

For those of you who have experience with both smaller and more powerful bikes on track:

Did riding a smaller bike help you become a better rider?

Do you think starting on a powerful bike can slow down your learning process?

Is a Duke 390 a good choice for trackdays or would you recommend something else?

Would you stick with the bigger bike and focus on improving or get the 390 to build a stronger foundation?

I’d love to hear your experiences, especially from people who switched from bigger bikes to smaller ones.

Thanks!

BTW I prefer a naked over another supersport since I will use it on the street as well...

how risky is tracking a motorcycle?

Post image
27 Upvotes

sorry for the long post, I currently have a 2025 XSR900 that I absolutely love riding, I have track day experience in cars and I really want to take my XSR to the track to learn more. The problem is insurance, cars have a handful of track coverage options, Hagerty, etc. I have called many different places regarding motorcycles and I've come to the conclusion that I would not be able to get weekend coverage.

I understand that a lot of people ride expecting to pay for damages and whatnot or have track dedicated bikes, but is it dumb to take my XSR to the track? Unsure if this changes anything but I don't owe money on the bike and own it outright, I ride it daily and would hate to not have a bike for months if something happens (although I do have a car as well). Are accidents on track common? (I know it's hard to gauge and completely dependent on people and the biggest risk is yourself) but I guess I just possibly want advice on whether or not it's a bad idea. Also, is there any advice to safely find limits on the track? I enjoy canyon riding quite a bit but I want to learn as much as I can, preferably without eating it lol

any advice is greatly appreciated, also I do have interest in getting a sports bike that I would track but currently do not have the space, but suggestions for good second bikes that can be ridden on track with minimal prep and are under like 5-6kusd are very welcome (would also prefer an inline 4)

TLDR: Want to track my XSR900 but worried about how risky it is due to not being able to get trackday insurance, also interested in a second sportsbike that I would also use for the track but don’t have space atm

people in the midwest/east coast, what are some highlight tracks?

Hello! I'm starting to make a bucket list for next year and want some more opinions on good tracks in the midwest/east coast area. I've been to Nelson Ledges, Kershaw, Barber, Gingerman, and Roebling and intend to go to VIR, Mid O, Autobahn, and Blackhawk but want to hear if there's any other fun ones out there. Thank you!

Tire pressure question

(155-160kg wet) 2015 ktm rc390
I run a 150/160/17 rear with a 110/70/17 front
Both are Dunlop sportsmart TT’s and I was wondering what tire pressure you’d advice. I have ran a track day at 2.0 front and rear (tires were hot when I put that pressure in them I now realize so like 2.2 realistically)
And they felt fine. But I have seen people online running lower pressures on lighter bikes (like mine) because of the tires carcasses made for heavier bikes.
Anyone got advice? Im all ears

Title: Dainese Laguna Seca 6 1-Piece Racing Suit – EU 48 – $1,200 OBO (Long Island, NY)
Hey everyone, I’m selling my Dainese Laguna Seca 6 Perforated 1-Piece Leather Suit in Black/Water/Fuxia, size EU 48.
I originally bought it for track riding, but after trying it on, I realized a 1-piece suit just isn’t for me. It feels a little claustrophobic, so I’m hoping to switch to a 2-piece suit instead.
It’s brand new, only tried on indoors once, and has never been ridden in.
Asking $1,200 OBO. Located on Long Island, NY, but can work out shipping if needed.
Feel free to message me if you’re interested or want more pictures!

Website/part recommendation for track prepping a Z125?

My wife has a 2018 Z125 that we don’t ride anymore and I can’t find any buyers

I’m thinking of making it non op and making it a track bike for the local kart tracks we have

I know I need to remove things like a kickstand, lights, mirrors, etc, but I was wondering what I need for like catch cans for fluids, if I need to safety wire, or anything else you recommend

The rarest type of track day?

I'm hooked after trying it last year. I'm slow compared to the flatrack guys, but It's some of the most fun I've had on two wheels.

With good tires the grip is amazing, it still feels controlled with both tires sliding. It's like having all the traction and none at all simultaneously.

The amount of seat time for your money is unbeatable, even after leaving a generous tip for the plow fund.

This is Irondequoit bay, upstate NY. It was a warm day, very slushy

There were three different tracks plowed that day, two TT's and an oval.

Anybody else praying for good ice this winter?

Neat rivnut for body work

Post image

Im still on abs fairings, but dug to find these neat rivnuts on amz. These would be great for camera mounting or other things a dzus wouldnt work for. Similar to comparing pop rivets to tri fold.
They dont work well with standard rivnut mandrels, but i used a fender washer instead of the backer nut to get a bite into the rivnut.

I built a free lap-timing app for track days

Hey, I’ve been building 130R, a free lap-timing app for iOS and Android. It includes lap and sector timing, lap comparisons, and a catalogue of over 3,000 circuits worldwide.

Support for external GPS antennas is in development and should be coming soon. If you try the app, I’d love to hear what you think or what features you’d like to see. An honest store rating or review would also help a lot.

iOS: 130R on the App Store
Android: 130R on Google Play

The rear brake is ignored too often; let's fix it.

Disclaimer: no, this is not AI. This is us partnering with a certain video game developer to help create educational short-form video.

How often do we use the rear brake on track?

The answer is usually "it depends." Often, we hear that "it depends" is really "I don't, because I'm concerned about when, where, and how to use it correctly."

Volume up as we give a quick overview.

Twins or Inlines?

What’s your preference for TDs and racing? I’ve always been an inline 4 600 guy but picked up a Ninja 400 as a kart track/practice bike and love the different feel of the power delivery and sound. It’s very similar to 2 stroke vs 4 stroke in my opinion. Been actually eyeballing trading my R6 for an RS660 next year, look like awesome bikes.
