We know from spin off lore that UM is technically a shining one, yet Headon famously stated that the tower can only be challenged truly by humans. It also makes sense why shinies whose nature was later changed after being defeated by Phantaminum and became non humans cannot challenge the tower or they aren't obstructed by guardians because they aren't challengers.

What makes this topic so fascinating is how humanity is treated across different characters in the story.

Even after his true origins were revealed, UM still explicitly refers to himself as a human. Before the lore was revealed he was referred as the strongest human ever.

Enkidu started as nothing more than a cube of slime given to Traumerei by the master. Yet, traumerei explicitly ordered the slime to become a human so it could be his true friend. Following this command, the slime prayed to become human, and headon pointed to Enkidu who with his horns, buildup look like a beastkins rather than a human.

This brings up a fascinating parallel to dbz, which SIU heavily pulls inspiration from. Is UM’s situation similar to a Saiyan, an extraterrestrial species who is functionally classified as a kind of human bursting into a massive golden aura of power?

More importantly, look at how the Great Warriors or Irregulars tbp refer to the native towerborns:

Traumerei: calls them creatures

Gussy: calls them vermin / bugs

Edahn: calls them pests

UM: calls them babies

When the highest beings in the tower view everyone else as disposable pests or mere creatures, being called a human carries massive weight. Even Traumerei recognized that a mere creature wasn't enough to be an equal, it had to become a human.

Now that I have completed the Urek Spinoff, here is my take:

Floor 2 Plot & Stakes:

Mixing all the plots on Floor 2 elevated the stakes. The premise of the arc was solid and very characteristic of Urek being Urek. What felt jarring, however, was the abrupt transition from passing the Crown Game to Rankers literally blasting everyone. Loose ends piled up quickly due to the rapid pacing and limited exposition—ranging from the unnamed princess to the new Rankers gatekeeping the tests, Mago’s resurrection, and whatever else the plot required. This highlights a clear distinction: Season 1 of TOG was primarily character-driven (centered around Bam), whereas this spinoff is heavily plot-driven (centered around events surrounding Urek).

Convenience of System Bypasses (or bug on the system as they call it):

While they managed to hide on that island, the Floor Guardian should have intervened given that the laws of the Tower were being breached. For instance, when Enryu appeared on the Floor of Death (FoD) and rained Shinsu everywhere, the Guardian intervened not simply because Enryu was wiping out cult followers, but because an anomaly occurred (Enryu opening a door/portal that violated the Tower's fundamental laws). Having two timelines (or rerunning it repeatedly) on an area due to Mago constitutes a major anomaly. Furthermore, having multiple exceptionally powerful Irregulars staying in the Inner Tower—essentially four, considering Eduan and Urek—should have generated massive headlines throughout the Empire.

Expectation vs. Depiction of Urek:

The blog posts (BP) are largely responsible for this gap in expectations. The BP stated that Urek rarely holds back and fights aggressively, yet his depiction in the spinoff was the exact opposite. ToG Urek was ready to throw hands to whatever is on the table during the zyngaena arc but in the spinoff, he consistently followed the rules handed to him in a conscientious manner; even during the Crown Game, Mago's team managed to bargain with him to take another test. In reality, Urek could have simply blitzed everyone and resolved the situation immediately.

The Spinoff as the Dragon Ball GT of the Dragon Ball Series:

The spinoff offers glimpses of TOG lore, but its trajectory isn't strictly linear to the main story (YET). The Penta lore received significantly more development here—which is surprising given it only had a single panel in TOG. The Ari Family also received well-deserved spotlight. I had hoped the spinoff would address existing lore questions more directly—such as how Evankhell became ruler of the 2nd Floor, linking Zygaena to the Yeon Family through Mago or the Shining Jewels, or connecting Endorsi’s Snake Sworn Enemy to the Snake Guardians.

Abrupt Character Sidelining:

A number of seemingly talented Regulars showcased impressive feats early on, positioning them as potential mainstays. However, as the pacing shifted, they were reduced to background characters reacting to events as the conflict scaled up. Similarly, the original Test Admins—who were initially meant to design tests capable of making Urek bleed—were suddenly sidelined alongside Rahab, allowing to focus more on Urek vs New Admins. This mirror issues in Seasons 2 and 3 of the main series, where minor characters drive the plot briefly, only to vanish on the succeeding arcs with their storylines left unresolved. Additionally, several characters appeared without proper introductions simply to move the plot forward (e.g., the suspicious Khun girl, Obrion becoming relevant due to the Neoleo situation, the Queen of Dolphins creating a convenient escape route, and Bel being introduced late purely to serve as a threat to the Regulars).

Disruption of Power Scales & Factions:

The introduction of Shining/Darkness beings disrupts the established ranking system. Given that these entities are clearly Irregulars that FUG or other anti-Jahad factions failed to recruit, it is puzzling why they remained in hiding—especially since some possess strength comparable to Family Heads (FH). They could have easily established their own faction and recruited High Rankers to rival FUG or the Revolutionaries.

Floor Express Pass:

It is surprising that SIU sanctioned this mechanic, given that the Hell Train was previously established as the sole means to bypass floors. Allowing rapid traversal from Floors 4 to 10 undermines the exclusivity and prestige of the Hell Train's "Express" designation. It also diminishes the weight of Urek's climb, especially considering Bam and the original group climbed exceptionally fast without relying on such a shortcut.

Middle area fiasco:

The middle area became a testing ground, which is the worst writing so far on the story. How come the event on the 2nd arc (the 5th floor) test was in the middle area? I didn't follow it thoroughly, but this is ridiculous.

Overall Assessment:

If this were a standalone story unrelated to TOG, I would enjoy it on its own merits. However, tying it to existing lore—while generating minimal traction or direct relevance—makes its purpose questionable. Furthermore, claiming that killing anyone from the Ha Family guarantees immediate, severe retaliation feels inconsistent with how the family dynamics were framed in the main TOG narrative.

I understand SIU may be concerned that clashing with established TOG world-building could create continuity issues. However, as a prequel meant to foreshadow future events of TOG, it should function much like A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms does for A Game of Thrones.

I recently got to know that scientist cut off a newt tail and planted it as a arm, which then grew into a functional one.

Maybe like the frog who ate 10000 snakes and became a deity (cobalt). There could be one based on newt who grew 1000 arms

Something I find interesting about Tower of God is how much Baam has changed since the beginning.
He started out as someone who barely understood the world outside the cave, and now he’s involved in conflicts where entire groups of people can suffer because of his decisions.
I know he’s still trying to protect the people he cares about, but sometimes it feels like his determination to save his friends makes him overlook everyone else caught in the crossfire.
Do you think Baam is slowly losing the innocence that made him who he was at the beginning, or is he simply adapting to the cruel reality of the Tower?
I’m curious how everyone else sees his character development

I felt this was a cool detail from the spinoff. It's good to see that the Ari family still has an intrinsic connection to needles.

Who do you think will climb with Baam to the final floor? A theory says the people who will climb with him will mirror the family heads.

Baam for V

Yuri for Yurin

Wangnan for Zahard

Khun for Khun

RAK THE LEADER

I'm assuming Endorssi will make the climb but who is she a stand in for.

Also I'm throwing it out there: Rachel for Arlene Grace

I would much rather Baam push her down the stairs or just ignore her but she apparently has some importance to the story sooooooooo.......

But who else? And who do they reflect? Any ideas?

just finished re-read tower of god straight from the start.
i used to think that TOG is incomparable (not including OP) in term of story telling and world building, it was so good mainly since the train arc and all.

but apperantly with the way that the story develop it is clear why it is taking so much time for SIU to release the next season. the power scale not well matched, the narrative not clear, a lot of mix up stories that dont sit well and most are irrelevant .
it is suppose to be about passing tests and overcome challenges to reach higher and become stronger, instead it is about winning games and outscheme bets.

i love the main trio and their dynamic but
what there is to expact from season 4 ?
what do you think ?

What character that we have never met are you most excited for? And why? I will go first

Eurasia Enne Zahard

The lore drops from the sprout have me incredibly excited. And if my theory is correct it will be during the princess arc that we finally meet her. Enne vs Adori anyone?

I need the next arc to be really focused on the princesses going after the swords. I think its one of the best plot lines in the story and the collector in me needs to see Yuri catch them all lol. We havnt seen much from them all and the end of the last arc I feel like could be a great segway into this side of the story.

Chapter 47. Eduan has to have a million drinks during his fight. Where does he put all that liquid? In other news, his powers are pretty

Fh bluffing about everything,so much inconvenient powerscaling, forced powerups traum being brain dead and aa just overall reducing the quality of the writing is just the surface

I’m curious what theories people in this sub genuinely believe will turn out to be true, even if there isn’t enough evidence to prove them yet.
It could be something about Zahard, Baam’s true purpose, the 10 Great Families, the Workshop, Rachel’s role in the story, or something completely different.
I want to hear the theories that you’ve been holding onto for years, especially the ones that sound crazy until you really think about them.
What’s your Tower of God theory, and why do you believe it? 👀

After the animation downgrade season 2 got, I decided to try and learn how to animate using some of my limited free time. Figured I may as well post some of these drafts as I make them and improve on them.

Animation is definitely a lot harder than I expected. Gave me a newfound respect for animators. Not sure how much more I can do before I fold and give in to using AI to enhance it tho 🥲

Do you guys think these two will interact ? Have an important conversation?

I’m only through Season 1, but I love Endorsi. Her personality is very playful and sly. My second favorite is Anaak.

We have seen forgetting informations are a common thing even if they aren't sealed because characters have been living in the tower for so long.

One such instance is UM forgetting his light powers. After the fight with HJ or RT tbp, he recalled he has light powers especially since he was fighting without shinsu. Maybe at the time of fighting he didn't pay attention to the power he displayed but after settling everything he started to figure out his power. That's why his percentage gimmick changed from 10 percent power to 10 percent shinsu reinforcement in the sprout arc?

After Family Leaders and their ships were brought into the story, the setting has largely been the characters floating in space? The fights have also become less interesting to me because there's no terrain or concept of space, so it's become DBZ-esque with.balls of energy being everyone's abilities.

It's a real shame because Hell Train was one of my favorite webtoon reads.

Chapter 38. Urek didn’t want to be in the pic so much that he put the middle finger in

While waiting for season 4, my 2026 reread continues onward!

It's a little ironic to me that SIU initially planned to extend season 2, because The Last Station feels like such an excellent season finale arc. The scale jumps dramatically, and it's thrilling to see Baam and his pals work to extricate themselves from the empire's tightening grip. We get tons of great moments from our MC, and both main characters (Rak, Endorsi, Jinsung, Yuri) and side characters (Evan, Hansung Yu, and the newly introduced and newly badass Evankhell) get their moments to shine. It helps that the artwork is some of the best TOG has ever had.

But of course, this was Baam's arc, and SIU does a great job of showing Baam's commitment to his loved ones and, later, his anguish at the near loss of the only halfway-decent parental figure in his life. The Last Station is wonderful at layering those emotions throughout all the action. It's another banger.

2026 Arc Ratings:

Season 1 - 10/10

Return of the Prince: 7.5/10

The Workshop: 10/10

Revolution Road: 7/10

The Dallar Show: 9.5/10

The Name Hunt Station: 8.5/10

The Floor of Death: 10/10

The Hidden Floor: 10/10

The Last Station: 9/10

It might just be a coincidence, but this detail seems interesting if you take a closer look.

Mr. Goat’s eyes are two different colors: red and purple. A quick note on why this caught my attention: throughout the series, SIU frequently contrasts red and blue—for instance, in the door test during the first season, the ribbons on Hatsu’s swords, two of the three orbs from the Hidden Floor, and the pair of Yama and Doom (there wasn’t much mentioned about Paul). Mr. Goat’s hands are also red and blue (though I’m not sure if this is intended as a reference to Baam’s two Thryssas).
We have been shown only two characters with a definite connection to the Outside God: Enryu and V (who resides within Baam). Regarding their eyes, only Enryu’s left eye is shown to be red; meanwhile, when V first appeared inside Baam’s body with purple eyes, only his right eye was initially revealed.

Now, let’s consider the imagery of the goat itself. The goat carries various symbolic meanings—for instance, the "scapegoat"—or, conversely, it can represent something inherently evil. Goats are sometimes associated with the devil (though I’m not entirely convinced of a pact between Arlen and OG). In this context, it is worth looking at two specific representations: Satan and Baphomet (to be more precise, the image of Baphomet has come to be used in the context of Satanism).

As is written online, 'Satan' means 'opposer' or 'adversary'; another translation of the name is simply 'devil'—an adversary of God.

The situation with Baphomet is more complex. Baphomet was first mentioned during the trials of the Knights Templar, when the order was accused of heresy for worshipping Baphomet as a demonic idol. The figure is also frequently used in occultism and, later, in Satanism. There is a widely accepted theory regarding the origin of the name itself: Baphomet—Magomet—Muhammad. In other words, it is believed that "Baphomet" is a corrupted version of the name of the Islamic prophet. Thus, the figure can be viewed as something alien or non-acceptance within that particular place.

And finally, a Princess of Zahard. The nameless princess—also known as Dorothy—serves as a vessel for someone by whom Zahard is obsessed. Many believe this person to be Arlene.
Given the imagery of the goat—as an allusion to OG—and Dorothy—as Arlen—I can suggest a few possibilities: either the wish was granted, or the whole situation turned out differently than Arlen had planned, or perhaps Arlen was sacrificed to OG in exchange for the fulfillment of her wish.

This is just my interpretation, and I’d be interested to hear what others think about it.
