[Testers Needed] PurpleReadr: Children's Reading & Creative Writing Platform | Looking for Parents and Educators to Test

• Upvotes

Hi everyone! 👋

We're the founders of PurpleReadr, a children's reading and creative writing platform designed to help kids develop their literacy skills while having fun creating their own stories and sharing them amongst their friends and family.

We've been building PurpleReadr to make reading and writing more interactive, creative and engaging for children, educators, and parents.

We're looking for parents, educators, and anyone interested in educational technology to try the platform and share their honest feedback!

📚 What is PurpleReadr?

PurpleReadr is an online platform where children can:

  • READ – Explore illustrated stories with familiar narration and word highlighting.
  • WRITE – Develop creative writing skills by writing their own stories.
  • CREATE – Bring stories to life through illustrations.
  • SHARE – Share their completed stories with family and friends.
  • LEARN – Develop literacy skills through interactive reading, writing, and storytelling.

Parents can also access the purplereadr dashboard to follow their children's reading progress.

🧪 What we're looking for

We're particularly interested in feedback on:

  1. How easy is PurpleReadr to navigate?
  2. Are the stories and illustrations engaging for children?
  3. Is the story creation process intuitive?
  4. Does the platform work well on mobile, tablet and desktop?
  5. What would you improve or add?

🚀 How to participate

  1. Visit https://purplereadr.com
  2. Create an account and explore the platform.
  3. Try reading a story or creating your own.
  4. Share your feedback in the comments or send us a message: [hello@purplereadr.com](mailto:hello@purplereadr.com)

No app installation is required.

💜 Why we're doing this

We believe children should be encouraged not only to read stories but also to become storytellers themselves through creative writing, illustrations, and sharing their stories and ideas with other friends and family.

We'd love to hear what works, what doesn't, and what could make PurpleReadr better.

Thanks for supporting a small literacy educational startup! 💜

💜 The PurpleReadr Team

IOS [iOS] Help test Capture Cal’s whole-day voice logging: corrections and mixed meals

• Upvotes

I’m the developer of Capture Cal. I built it for myself because searching for each food made tracking feel like a chore. You can describe breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks in a single recording, then review the meals and estimated calories/macros it produces.

I’d appreciate feedback on three specific cases:

• Several meals in one recording: does it separate the foods sensibly?

• A correction such as “a sandwich—actually, half a sandwich”: does the final portion reflect what you meant?

• A homemade mixed dish: does it preserve the ingredients you named and group the dish correctly?

If you try it, please tell me what you expected versus what appeared, and where reviewing or correcting the result took too many steps. Fictional examples are fine; no need to share your personal food diary publicly. The nutrition numbers are estimates, and results can be edited.

iPhone download: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/capturecal-ai-calorie-count/id6747652404

Free download with daily logging limits; optional Premium subscription for higher limits. Feedback on the free voice flow is welcome.

Education 🎓 From Idea to PurpleReadr: Children's Literacy App Start Up! Spoiler

Thumbnail purplereadr.com
• Upvotes

Hello!

I just wanted to share with you guys my journey with this start up children's literacy development app.

It started with helping my niece who at the time was 3 years old, develop a love to read. I was helping my sister (her mother) with consistent literacy development and reading habit.

She is now 7->8 years old, reads and writes beautifully! I am a proud aunt! I would like to think that I provided a helping hand with my niece's literacy development. She still has a fair way to go, only starting her education and cognitive development journey and I can see a bright future for her.

It got me thinking and ideating about how I could create a literacy development app that could provide a platform to children's literacy development, through engaging illustrated stories, listening to their parents or caregivers narrate these stories without their parents actually narrating to them, and providing social learning or peer learning through children sharing their creative stories and their illustrations, to their friends or family or other children around the world.

This is what PurpleReadr is: an environment where reading, writing, creativity, and sharing stories all focus onto one platform.

I need your help though. I'm very new to this and still trying to get my head around whether this app has any relevance to parents and their families.

I just need some parents to try out PurpleReadr and give me some feedback!

Would love to hear or read your thoughts either here or at [hello@purplereadr.com](mailto:hello@purplereadr.com) 🙏🏼

Many thanks!

From The PurpleReadr Team

Hi everyone! I'm a solo developer looking for testers for SubFinito, an app that tracks your subscriptions and reminds you before they renew, so you stop paying for things you forgot about. It's free, has no ads, and needs no account. Everything stays on your phone.

How to join (about 2 minutes, please use the same Google account for all three steps):

  1. Join the Google Group: https://groups.google.com/g/subfinito-testers
  2. Become a tester: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.subfinito.app
  3. Install from Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.subfinito.app

Please stay opted in and keep the app installed for 14 days, and open it now and then. Add a subscription or two, check the calendar and the reminders. If the app doesn't show up in Play right away, wait a few minutes and try again. That's normal after joining the group.

I'll test yours back: comment your group + opt-in links and I'll join, install, and keep it for the full 14 days. Honest feedback is very welcome, especially anything confusing or broken. Thanks!

Android I built a workout tracking app called Iron Progression and I'm looking for Android testers

Fellow fitness enthusiasts. I built a workout tracking app called Iron Progression and I'm looking for Android testers.

It handles progressive overload for you. It adjusts your weights, reps, and program as you go, and gives you a target for every set so you always know what to hit.

It also has premade workouts, an exercise library, recovery tracking, strength reports, body measurements, weekly sets per muscle, and consistency tracking.

If you could test it out and give me any feedback that would be super helpful!

IOS Cooking game (iOS)

Looking for 10 TestFlight testers for my cooking game, Counter Craze
https://testflight.apple.com/join/Rwz1taWe
Hi everyone! I’m working on my first cooking game, Counter Craze, and I’d love some honest feedback.
It’s a time-management game with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert shifts, plus health inspections, bonus rounds, and café customization.
I’m looking for feedback on:
Whether the instructions and controls make sense

How the difficulty feels as you progress

Any bugs, crashes, or layout problems

Whether you’d want to keep playing—and why

It’s still in beta, so there are things I’m polishing. I’m collecting feedback for my next update on October 26.

If you report an issue, please include your device model and the level where it happened. Feedback through TestFlight or in the comments would be appreciated. Thanks for trying it!

[iOS/Mac/Windows] Looking for testers for Claimshot – organise evidence for lost parcels, deposits & unpaid invoices (I’ll test your app back)

Hi everyone! I’m a solo developer and I’m looking for a few testers for Claimshot, an app that helps you organise the evidence and next steps of an everyday incident (lost parcel, unpaid deposit, unpaid invoice…).

  • Platforms: iPhone, iPad, Mac or Windows PC (Android comes later).
  • One 45-60 minute session between 23 October and 2 November, with a fictional case supplied: no personal documents.
  • Languages: English, French, Spanish, German.
  • The app isn’t public yet, so access is private by invitation and a short confidentiality agreement is signed first.

Feedback I’m looking for: what’s confusing, what breaks, and whether you’d trust it with your own paperwork.

Apply here (2 minutes): https://tally.so/r/0VrLKP
Happy to test your app in return — drop your link in the comments.

Android Looking for Android testers for Fixturs – Casual sports pickup & headcount organiser (Testing back for full 14 days!)

Hey everyone! 👋

I need a few more testers to hit Google’s 14-day closed testing requirement for Fixturs, a lightweight app designed to take the friction out of organising weekly casual pickup sports (live RSVP viability tracking, pitch maps, and 1-tap team shuffling). This initial version supports football (soccer) but it will be expanded to support other sports in future versions.

I'm happy to offer free lifetime access to the Pro tier (under development) of the app for dedicated testers (DM your email).

I am active daily and will test your app back for the full 14 days. Just drop your Google Group and Play Store links along with a screenshot of Fixturs installed in the comments, and I’ll install yours and reply with a screenshot right away!

📲 How to Join:

Join the Google Group: https://groups.google.com/g/fixturs-beta-testers (Joining the group unlocks the Play Store testing access)

Opt-in on the Web: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.fixturs.app

Download on Android:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fixturs.app (or open via market://details?id=com.fixturs.app on your device)

⚡ Quick Missions to Test (~60 seconds):

Create a test fixture: Pick a pitch and verify the venue map link opens.

Toggle player RSVPs: Watch the traffic-light headcount progress bar update to show if the game is officially "ON".

Shuffle teams: Tap the team picker to split players into Bibs vs. No-Bibs.

(Optional) Shake your device anywhere in the app to report any bugs or UI quirks via our built-in feedback tool!

Please keep the app installed for the full 14 days so Google registers continuous opt-in status.

Drop your links below and let’s get across the finish line together! 🚀

Android [Android] Habit tracker with no setup screen — would love some testers, happy to return the favour

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

Just put this on Play and I'm looking for people to actually use it for a couple of days rather than just open it once.

What it is: a habit tracker with nothing to configure. You type the habit name and tap it, that's it. No categories, no frequency wizard, no onboarding carousel. There are also home screen widgets where you tap the habit right there and it completes without the app opening.

No account needed to try it, there's a guest mode. 5 habits free forever, no ads.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.habitly.app&referrer=utm_source%3Dreddit%26utm_medium%3Dpost%26utm_campaign%3Dlaunch

Specific things I'd like tested:

- how long it takes you to go from installing to checking off your first habit
- the widgets on your launcher, I've only tried a handful of devices
- the dark mode, in case anything is unreadable
- anything that made you hesitate on the first screen

Drop yours below and I'll test it back today. Android or iOS, doesn't matter.

Art🎨 [Web] Can you make your first photo book and find the PDF?

I’m Johannes, the designer building Kaido. I wanted an easier way to make books from my own photos. The grid adapts to the photos’ proportions.

Could you try this on a laptop or desktop?

  1. Choose photos from your computer.
  2. Make your first book.
  3. Change the book title.
  4. Find and download the free PDF.

Where did it first become unclear or feel slow? Your browser name and the steps you took are enough. Please don’t share photos or filenames here.

No account or AI required. Layout runs locally in your browser. The PDF has a small “Made with Kaido” credit, and you can print it yourself.

IOS Where Embers Stay: the trader finally buys your eggs, and the dog has a life of his own [iOS beta update]

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

I shared my woodland survival game here a few days ago. The new TestFlight build is out, and two of the changes are small things that were bothering me a lot.

The trader now accepts ordinary resources instead of leaving you with things you can't sell. Eggs sell for 3 gold, and there are 17 base barter offers, so spare supplies have more uses.

Lucky also has a routine after the story: wandering around camp, sniffing about, occasionally chasing a hedgehog a short distance, then coming back to sleep by the fire at night. He used to feel much too static.

This build also improves the player-following direction marker, character animations, tree collision and mining tools.

I'm the developer. If you have an iPhone or iPad, the beta is free through TestFlight: https://testflight.apple.com/join/5Keeasvq

For this round, I'd love to know: do you actually use barter, or does selling everything still feel like the obvious choice? And is the direction marker easy to follow on your device?

Existing testers can update to 1.0 (4) in TestFlight without deleting the game. These are captures from the running game.

Untrod – a new walk every day, through streets you haven't explored yet

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone! 👋

I'd love a few more people to try Untrod, an iPhone app that colours in every street you walk on a map of your city and shows your % for each neighbourhood.

What you can do with it:

  • Take the daily quest. Each day there's a short loop of 2, 4 or 6 km through streets you haven't walked yet (look for "Today's walk").
  • Watch your map fill in. Every walk adds to a map of everywhere you've been.
  • Collect stamps as you pass viewpoints, fountains, historic markers and notable trees.
  • Bring in your past walks from Apple Health, so your map isn't empty on day one.
  • Go at your own pace. There's a Relaxed mode if you'd rather not compete with anyone.

If you have a spare walk this week, I'd be really grateful if you tried the daily quest and let me know how it felt. Anything you loved or anything that felt off would help a lot. Thank you! 😊

Looking for android testers for my workout app, SimpleSplit

Hey everyone, I’m looking for more people to test SimpleSplit on Android. It’s an app for building workout days, putting them into a weekly or rotating split, and logging sets, reps, and weight.

Tryna fill this requirement for the closed test. I’d also love honest feedback from anyone who tries a workout with it. Is the app easy to understand? Does anything not work, feel clunky, or a better way of doing something?

If you wanna check out the website here is the link: https://www.simplesplit.me/. I’ve had the app on the iOS store for a while just tryna figure out google/android. If you wanna trade test for test, i’d be down just lemme know.

The test is available in the US. To join:

  1. Join the tester group with the Google account on your Android phone.
  2. Opt in to the test.
  3. Install SimpleSplit from Google Play.

Please stay opted in for at least 14 days. You can leave feedback in the comments or use the feedback form. Thanks to anyone who gives it a try.
