It's not a closed beta test! Remember Samsung's Smart Pause? I made an app that pauses videos when you look away. Giving away free codes

Galaxy S4 had a feature called Smart Pause. You looked away from the screen and the video stopped. Samsung dropped it a long time ago, so I built an app that does the same thing.

It's called Eyecon. Look away and the video pauses, look back and it picks up again, rewinding a few seconds so you don't miss anything. It's handy when your eyes keep leaving the screen: following a recipe, learning a song on guitar, taking notes from a lecture.

It works with YouTube and other apps that show play/pause controls in the notification shade. Shorts, Reels and TikTok don't show those, so it can't pause them. The camera only runs while something is playing, and the app has no internet permission at all, so nothing leaves your phone. You can check that in the permissions list on the Play Store page.

It's a paid app with no ads and no subscription, and I have 30 codes to give away. Leave a comment and I'll DM you one.

It has no reviews yet, so if it ends up being useful to you, a rating on Google Play Store would help a lot. And if it doesn't work well on your phone, tell me here. That's just as useful.

[macOS] WalkAITalkie: does Clean Up keep what you actually meant?

• Upvotes

I build WalkAITalkie, a Mac dictation app. I'd like feedback on one thing: does Clean Up remove the ums and false starts without changing what you meant?

Try a short, made-up note with a self-correction. If Clean Up drops a detail or keeps something you meant to correct, that is the bit I'd love to hear about. No need to share personal recordings.

Dictation and Clean Up are free. You'll need an Apple Silicon Mac on macOS 26+. Local modes work offline after model download. The direct version can paste at the cursor; the App Store version copies text for you to paste.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/walkaitalkie/id6759335293

I built a food scanner that checks products against your own diet. Looking for Android testers (no ads, Open Food Facts data)

• Upvotes

When I started paying attention to what I eat, I kept getting stuck on the back of the pack. Tiny print, numbers "per serving" where every brand picks its own serving size, and no single grade on the front like some countries have. So I built Kaibu.

Scan a barcode and you get one grade, plus a short AI-written read of the product against your own diet: vegan, gluten-free, an allergy, or a list of things you'd rather avoid, and why it fits or doesn't. Tap any ingredient and it tells you what it is and why it's in there, in plain English. That part is what Open Food Facts alone doesn't give you. The AI text is always labelled as AI. Product data comes from Open Food Facts, compared per 100 g so products line up fairly. No ads, and I don't sell your data.

It's in a closed test on Android, because Google won't let a new developer publish until 12 people have tested for 14 days. I'm aiming for about 18 so a few dropping off doesn't reset the clock.

How to join

  1. Join the tester group: https://groups.google.com/g/kaibu-testers
  2. Opt in and install: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/app.kaibu
  3. Keep it installed for the 14 days and scan things now and then

What I'd love to know

  • Tap a few ingredients: does the plain-English explanation actually tell you something useful?
  • Is setting up your diet clear, and do the matches feel right?
  • Anything wrong or missing on a product? Open Food Facts isn't perfect, but it helps to know where.
  • Where did you get stuck?

Send feedback from Profile in the app, or just reply here. Honest feedback, not ratings. If you've got something in testing too, drop the link and I'll return the favour.

(Please don't buy Premium during the test, purchases are real.)

IOS iPhone + Apple Watch users: could you try Cernidia and tell me whether the stress view is clear?

Post image
• Upvotes

I'm the developer of Cernidia, a free iPhone and Apple Watch app for putting sleep, recovery and daily energy signals into context. I'm looking for feedback on the current App Store version.

The stress view separates estimated physiological signals from your own check-in. Personal comparisons need enough readable history, and missing data stays unknown.

If you try it: is it clear what the numbers mean and what they don't? Where would you want a better explanation? Please don't share private health records.

https://apps.apple.com/app/id6816678341

No ads, subscription or Cernidia account. iOS 18+, English interface.

Tester WANTED!! (Android, alpha)

Hello everyone! Full disclosure right off the bat: I'm the developer, so this post is about my own project.

For years, I managed my finances using an Excel spreadsheet: bank accounts, credit cards, installments, recurring expenses, and savings. It worked, but updating it from my phone was a hassle, and I always found myself asking the same questions: How much money do I actually have? How much do I still need to pay this month? How much can I spend without going negative?

So, I built Budgeter, an Android app that does exactly what my Excel sheet used to do, but right from your pocket.

What it does

  • Safe to Spend: Calculates how much you can spend from today until a selected date—factoring in projected income, scheduled expenses, installments, credit card debits, and your monthly savings target.
  • 30/60/90-Day Balance Forecast: Calculated based on recurring expenses and pre-scheduled installments.
  • Multiple Accounts & Credit Cards: Credit card expenses are counted towards your budget immediately, but your available liquidity drops only when the statement is debited—preventing anything from being double-counted.
  • Installments & Recurring Expenses: Subscriptions, rent, or loans automatically generate scheduled transactions that you can confirm or skip.
  • Category Budgets, Savings Goals, Calendar & Statistics.
  • Fast Expense Entry: Add a transaction in seconds, including via receipt photo scans.
  • CSV Import & Local or Google Drive Backups (with encryption support).

Privacy

Everything stays on your phone: no accounts, no servers, and no bank links. Zero ads and no tracking. You can also secure the app using a PIN or fingerprint/biometrics.

Pricing

It is completely free, with no subscriptions or in-app purchases.

How to try it

The app is currently in closed alpha testing on Google Play, meaning it isn't publicly listed on the Store yet. To install it:

  1. Go to https://budgeter.it and click the "Ask to join" button.
  2. I'll add you to the tester list and send you the Google Play Store download link.

(Note: It is currently Android-only).

Since it's an alpha version, there might be a few bugs. I'm especially interested in your feedback: What features are missing compared to how you manage your money today? What feels unclear? What would make you switch away from your current spreadsheet?

Thanks to anyone who decides to give it a spin!

IOS I made an art narration app. Is it fun to listen to, and what’s missing?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi! I’m building Hear Art for iPhone and iPad. You choose a painting, listen to its story, and follow close-ups of the details being discussed.

I’d love feedback from people who enjoy art or visiting museums. Here’s a Las Meninas example you can watch and hear in your browser:

https://hearart.org/paintings/las-meninas/

After a minute or two, what do you think?

  1. Is it enjoyable to listen to? Does the voice or pacing make you want to keep going?

  2. Does it help you notice or understand something about the painting? Do the close-ups help?

  3. What feels missing, confusing or unnecessary?

A specific moment you liked, got bored, or wanted something different would be really useful. I’m interested in whether the experience works for you.

Disclosure: I’m the developer. The voices are synthetic, and some historical scene illustrations use AI. The painting close-ups use the original artwork.

I kept making plans for my goals and never starting, so I built an app that only shows the next step

I'm 18 and I've been working on this for a while. The thing I kept doing: I'd decide I wanted to do something, spend an hour planning it, get overwhelmed by how much there was, and then not do any of it.

So I made a small app called Next. You type in a goal, it asks what's getting in the way, and then it only shows you one small step. Not the whole plan, just the next thing. If the step still feels like too much you can tap "make it easier" and it gets smaller. There's also a streak, but you get a free rest day each week so one bad day doesn't wipe it.

It's not a coach and it won't build you a full training or meal plan. It just tries to get you to do the next small thing.

It works in your phone's browser, no download: https://nextdawn.pages.dev

A few things to know. It's still early, so stuff might break. The first load can take up to a minute because the server is on a free plan and has to wake up. Sign up needs an email and sends you a 6-digit code (check spam if it doesn't show up). It's for 18+, and the AI behind it is Google Gemini, so I'd avoid putting anything very personal in your goals.

I'm really like to know two things. Did you actually do a step in real life? And where did it confuse or annoy you? Also, if it disappeared tomorrow, would you care? Any answer helps, including "no".

Tiny Journeys, a calm aerial live wallpaper — closed-test feedback wanted on battery and foldables

Hi! I'm the developer of Tiny Journeys, a free Android live wallpaper with calm aerial landscapes and a tiny traveler moving slowly across the scene. No ads, no account, and no permissions at all, not even internet.

Closed testing — build 1.16.1

I'm recruiting testers for the Google Play closed test required before my first public release (at least 12 testers opted in for 14 consecutive days). That requirement is the reason for this post, and I'd also like concrete feedback to improve the app.

Feedback wanted

  • Battery use over a full day, including the four saving levels.
  • Foldables: does the view recompose correctly when folding and unfolding?
  • Any unexpected return to the default system wallpaper, especially on Samsung phones.
  • Onboarding: is setting the wallpaper and finding its settings clear?
  • Compatibility: please include your phone model and Android version with any issue.

How to join

Use the same Google account for all three steps:

  1. Join the testers' Google group: https://groups.google.com/g/tiny-journeys-testers
  2. Opt in by selecting "Become a tester": https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.terondo.livewallpaper
  3. Install from Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.terondo.livewallpaper

Please remain opted in for at least 14 days. Joining the group alone does not opt you into the Play test.

The landscapes are AI-generated photorealistic images. The travelers, their paths and their shadows are drawn live by the app.

Please share bugs and feedback in the comments. Thanks for helping!

Looking for Android feedback on Subscription Radar, an offline-first bill and subscription tracker

Hi everyone,

I recently released a new update for Subscription Radar (Abonelik Radari) on Google Play and would really appreciate some honest usability feedback from Android users.

It is an offline-first app for tracking recurring subscriptions, variable monthly bills (like utilities and credit cards), and free trial expiration dates. All data stays locally on your phone with no account creation or bank linking required.

In the latest update, I redesigned the upcoming payments calendar timeline so day groups and remaining days are much clearer, and added support for editing billed amounts on already-paid cycles without losing payment history.

If you have a couple of minutes to try it out:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.abonelikradari.app

What I would love feedback on:

  1. Is adding your first subscription or variable bill intuitive?

  2. Does the upcoming payments calendar timeline feel clear at a glance?

  3. Are there any awkward UI interactions or bugs on your device?

Happy to test and review your apps in return! Just drop your link in the comments.

Health & Fitness🏋️‍♂️ [Web] Can you test the camera and animation controls in BodyLab v1?

I'm the developer of BodyLab, a 3D exercise explorer, and I'd appreciate usability/bug testing of version 1: https://bodylab-gamma.vercel.app/

The main interaction is selecting a muscle, opening a related exercise and playing its demonstration. You can slow playback down and scrub through a rep, with primary/secondary muscle highlights and technique notes alongside it.

One early tester found it restrictive to rotate the view during a rep. Could you try the camera and playback controls together and tell me which action you expected to work, what happened instead, and your browser/device? I'd also like to know whether finding an exercise for your available equipment is obvious.

The v1 exercise catalogue is small. Separately from bugs, would you use this more if it contained more exercises? Naming the first two or three missing movements would help me more than a general 'add more'. Thanks for any testing.
