Is this tattoo cringe? (Heart)

Post image

Got this tattoo tonight so it’s very fresh and will hopefully fade to look quite smokey and grey, that was the intention at least. I wanted something different (I have a lot of basic stuff and plants and small stuff) but I’m panicking. Does this come across as super edgy and… well cringey? That was not the vibe I was going for…

Advice for covering up scars NSFW

Post image
0 Upvotes

I have a series of scars on my forearm and they make me self conscious to no end. For the better part of a year I’ve been thinking a tattoo might give me something I like looking at and might give me back some ownership of this spot of skin. Help me enjoy wearing short sleeves again. My problem is I want a tattoo whose main function would be covering up and to add to this I am terminally indecisive. If this sub is appropriate any and all suggestions on art style would be welcome. I’m a grown man and pretty new to the world of tattoos I would love to hear your takes on scar cover up in general and any ideas on what might work well with mine in particular.

Opinions about this back piece? (reposted+context)

(previous post got deleted because it included an ai modified version. These don't include any ai)

So as my previous post got a bit of traction, but got deleted, I thought I'd add some context:

I'm working on my back piece design and this is the best I've come up with yet. My main inspiration is the artist prettyskinstickers (who I used as my main inspiration for my arm tattoo as well - slide 2)

I like bold, abstract shapes, warm floral stuff (simplistic) and sketched animals.

I understand that this style can be controversial, so I added 2 original designs from the artist

I'm mainly interested whether my design fits into this style or if it's visibly more immature within the category. If someone would say that those designs (by the artist) are bad, I'm sure they won't like mines either. But if we agree that the artist's designs are good and mine are bad, than I'd love to hear the criticism.

The only thing I don't like about the artist's work is that it's a bit too cold for my taste, that's why I wanted to add "warmth" into the design by including the sun as the main part and the cranes.

Also I know that it's okay if people don't like my tattoo as long as I like it, but I'd prefer if both were true, so I'm looking for feedback for this reason as well 🙂

And I'm genuinely thankful for everyones opinion, even if it's only negative 🙏

The design is inspired by full metal alchemist with the flamel and the five petals flower of the third opening

Looking for some ideas on how to fill in the remaining blank spaces on my forearm sleeve. I’m leaning toward something hip-hop inspired, LA street culture, or West Coast themed.

I want something that flows with my existing tattoos and keeps the black-and-grey style consistent.

Open to any creative suggestions! What would you guys add to tie everything together?

Beautiful client shared a personal story from her childhood and I did my best to interpret it into a design that resonates with her after back and forths. We're both glad the way it turned out and how it illustrates her memory of the time.

Dark Knight, 2 sessions, ~12 hours in total.

Another design I did in black and red, planning to finish the upper shoulder and lower forearm soon. We’re going to add a red eclipse at the top.

What do you think of the design?

Looking for artist recommendations for this style in/around New England?

Hello! My partner has been eyeing this artist (@mariatatua on Instagram) and her style for several months now, but unfortunately she lives way too far for us to afford travelling for a tattoo. She absolutely adores the movement, the shading, and the blackout details, and was hoping to find someone similar to her style in the USA, preferably in the Northeast around New England. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
