Authoritarian Mod Post No Bad Empanada or Hasan Piker posts are allowed from now on

Starting now, we will no longer allow any posts related to Bad Empanada or Hasan Piker in this subreddit. The rules have been updated to reflect this change.

While we realize that some of their content can be informative, entertaining or even politically energizing to people at different stages of their leftist journeys, we also realize that, ultimately, their content is shaped by the demands of the attention economy.

When such content is shared in this community, a number of things tend to happen. First, it predictably generates the very online drama and sectarian infighting that the owners of platforms like Twitch, YouTube or even Reddit (cough join Lemmy cough) rely on for engagement and profit. Second, it invites brigading, which creates additional work for us mods. Work that most mods here are quite honestly not willing to do for such unproductive online drama. Finally, it attracts users who are more focused on drama than on Marxist ideology. This subreddit is constantly growing and we do not want to send the wrong message to those users about what this community is about.

In addition to being a community for Marxist Leninists, this community also exists to help each other deprogram ourselves from mainstream/Western and pro-capitalists narratives. What this community certainly is NOT, is a space to continuously dissect the latest online controversies once a week.

We understand that some users may feel frustrated by this new rule and we would invite some of those users to sit with that frustration and ask whose interests it serves and who benefits from algorithmically boosting and promoting online pseudo-politics that exhausts our energy on irrelevant drama. Our strength lies in principled ML debate, respect for each other, shitposting and a shared commitment to advance real-life communism to the best of our capabilities.

This is from a manipulative propaganda thing they released a while back now. They had gone a month without chaotically accusing the DPRK πŸ‡°πŸ‡΅ of something absurd and unfounded. Meanwhile:

Hwang conceived Squid Game based on his own economic struggles, as well as the class disparity in South Korea and capitalism.

News/Communist Propaganda ☭ On October 23rd, Call of Duty is releasing Modern Warfare 4 β€” training millions of players to see the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), a sovereign socialist country, as the enemy.

Call of Duty is not just a game. It's a weapon of imperialist propaganda β€” designed to dehumanize Koreans, desensitize you to my peoples' slaughter, and make you complicit in the next war on Korea.

Modern Warfare 4 portrays Koreans in the north as the aggressors. But history tells us who the real enemy is.
It was the US that dropped over 600,000 tons of bombs on Korea β€” 3.7 times the amount dropped on Japan during the entire Pacific War. The US massacred more than 3 million Koreans and obliterated 85% of our villages, schools, hospitals, and infrastructure in the north. The US Air Force killed over 600 people at No Gun Ri β€” 72% of them women and children.

Today, millions of Koreans still live in the shadow of a war that never ended. Divided families. Mandatory conscription for south Korean men. Camptown prostitution, where US soldiers inflict violence on Korean women. In 2025 alone, the US conducted 274 days of war drills in Korea β€” rehearsing for nuclear strikes, bombing civilian targets, and assassinations of North Korean leadership.
War in Korea is not a video game β€” it's happening in real life.

And Call of Duty does more than depict violence β€” it trains players to inflict it, both in the US and abroad. Families of the Uvalde school shooting victims are suing Activision, Meta, and gun manufacturer Daniel Defense β€” noting that the shooters in Uvalde, Parkland, and Sandy Hook all played Call of Duty and used AR-15s.

Hollywood and Western media have spent decades dehumanizing North Koreans β€” and it's not accidental. The Pentagon shapes how games and films depict US wars.

This week, Call of Duty MW4 releases into this moment deliberately β€” manufacturing consent for imperial wars.
Don't fall for it. Koreans are not your enemies. We survived a genocide β€” and refuse to be erased again.

Don't play the US's game. Fight the real war machine.
US OUT OF KOREA. Follow @nodutdol to learn more.

News/Communist Propaganda ☭ Horrific, shocking yet sadly unsurprising scenes from Germany as the police there, who only know violence and repression, brutally assault an elderly person after leaving them bloodied on the ground. All for the crime of protesting Germany's continued involvement in genocide and ethnic cleansing. NSFW

Discussion These posts about people defending the looted stores in Paris are making me crazy furious

A couple of videos circulated online and went kind of viral. One is about a woman crying while begging looters to stop robbing the store. Here's one post with it (not mine of course): https://www.reddit.com/r/PublicFreakout/s/aP7rbS7IEd

The second is about a man forcing his wife to return clothes she just looted. Here it is again from one of the many posts on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/SipsTea/s/2VgCiHPWhC

The store in question in the first video is a Franprix supermarket. FranPrix is a giant company whose revenue last year was over 3 billion euros, and owned by an even bigger group, Group Casino. The woman in the video is neither the owner of FranPrix nor the manager of the store.

The second is fast fashion Pimkie. One of the many not good fast fashion companies which are a definite net negative for humanity and the planet.

Why the F liberals keep defending those corporations? Fucking put the situation in context. If anything, the looting of those stores is a small attempt at minimal rebalancing of inequality.

"It's a slippery slope". No, it fucking isn't. Or maybe it's a road to a better more equal society. Fuck corporations to hell and back.

EDIT: to be clear, as people seem confused, I am not talking about this specific thing to claim that looting is the blueprint for revolution. I am critiquing the bourgeoise moralism judging them. And people who get all high and mighty when the window of one store of a multi billionaire company owned by a super shitty mega financial group is broken, as if that's the worst thing in that scene, and not the hyper exploitation of the mega corps. THAT is what I am talking about here.
