It's AI, remaking an ugly fan comic made with 3D rendered artwork and written by a young teen me self from a few years back. It's bound to be bad. Also I completely understand if it gets deleted cause, well, it's AI.
The original, it's still up on Deviantart (of course), but I couldn't remember if I posted it on Reddit, I might have thought it looked too ugly to do so. I repeat, it's ugly.
Explanation: Before AI generated images were passable enough to be controversial, I was very interested in the technology behind it, not so much the product, but the science, how neural networks and adversarial training and what not. However, I had a lot more fun modelling 3D clothes, painting textures, sculpting from bases on Blender and just building things, Jon's room was actually my first environment I did entirely on my own. But it was ugly, REALLY ugly, but that didn't matter cause the fun in the process was what made it work. It also took a long, long time.
Now, I've done this replacement of the original art with AI generated images. Just to see how much the technology has progressed. Can't say I'm impressed, granted these were done with publicly available free models, but it loves to hallucinate and lose context even though it was right in front of it. Of all things to be said about the original, inconsistent it wasn't, as all scenes were actually built in a 3D space.
I did correct some typos and grammar cause kid me wasn't really thinking of that, the whole thing was done in the Marvel method so that I just thought of a scene and later added dialogue.
This one was surprisingly quick to be done, and maybe terrifyingly fast, even though the output was low resolution (not paying for it, strictly free stuff). Of course it was basically just basing on existing art that took weeks to pose and even more time to model.
Also, the generated images rip actual art style, but it's locked to it, it's just what the models default to, so there really isn't a lot of visual creativity even if you want to input it.
