Colony/TNR Help (Location) We have nothing left to feed the cats tomorrow and are completely out of food. We'd really appreciate any help getting them through the next few days 🙏

We’re two community cat feeders and rescuers caring for cats in our neighborhood. Most of the cats we look after are community cats who depend on us for their daily meals, while we also have rescued and foster cats in our care - over 70 in total who depend on us each day.

We’ve had a few fundraisers recently for medical expenses and surgeries, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped us get through those. Unfortunately, most of what we’ve been able to raise has had to go toward those urgent medical needs. We also appealed for help with food last week, but sadly, nothing came through.

We’re now completely out of food, with cats waiting to be fed tomorrow. We’re honestly at our wit’s end, especially with our salaries not coming in until the end of the month. We’ve been doing our best to stretch what we have and make everything work, but we’ve reached a point where there’s simply nothing left for us to use.

We know we’ve asked for help several times lately, and we’re genuinely sorry to have to ask again. If you’re in a position to contribute toward food, no amount is too small, and we would be incredibly grateful. Even sharing or boosting this post would mean a lot to us.

Sharing the latest TNR cats -
These 2 were fixed today - Will & Rickie - both did wonderful. I’m scrambling to get as many fixed before the bitter cold weather sets in. The little boy is Will, the last cat in my yard colony. The girl, Rickie, was dumped in the neighborhood about a week ago. She showed up STARVING- and since I’ve found out she is super friendly. I wish I could give them more than this, but at least they will always have shelter, food, water, and my love - invoice for today’s TNR included -

Update on Finn:
We have had good days and bad…. Her recovery is slower than I hoped, but I can only go at the speed she allows. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. I know we are all rooting for her.

NEED:
****Next weeks sponsors : 3 more TNR ($45 each)
****Food or supplies
**** Donations for Finn’s upcoming vet visit or vaccines for overdue colony cats

Thank you all for being the best part of our day ❤️🤎💙💚I truly love you all

Colony/TNR Help (Location) Another day of appealing to this campaign — space prep & vet debt update 🐾

Hi everyone,

Coming back to you with another update and appeal for our campaign.

Work on our new space is currently ongoing, which is buying us a little extra breathing room to prepare for all the incoming relocation expenses. But as we push forward, we want to gently remind everyone: this campaign is doing double duty.

It’s not only about securing a safe home for our rescues—it’s also about clearing our outstanding vet debt.

Every rescue, emergency treatment, and routine veterinary visit adds up quickly. We cannot truly step into this fresh new chapter on a clean slate until our medical accounts are fully paid off.

💳 How You Can Help
Every single contribution—no matter how small—goes directly toward our space preparation and clearing our veterinary bills:

• PayPal: https://www.paypal.me/kdalama

• Cashapp: https://cash.app/$FranciscoMoz

🐾 Other Ways to Support
• Upvote & Comment: Interacting with this post boosts visibility in the Reddit algorithm so more people can see our appeal.

• Share: Crossposting or sharing our campaign link with fellow rescue advocates helps us reach wider support.

Thank you so much to this amazing community for constantly showing up for our rescues. We couldn't do any of this without you! ❤️

Note: Venmo and Cashapp are under our friend’s account in the U.S. who is helping us receive funds through these platforms, since these services aren’t available in the Philippines.

Additional Note: Updates will be posted on [r/PawsitiveGuardians](r/PawsitiveGuardians) to give way to my co-rescuers. Don’t forget to join the sub or follow the post for the updates.

Adoption Help (Location) Could a semi-feral stray adapt to life with me and my cat?

I live In Melbourne Australia.
I took a stray tom to the vet, which passed him to a shelter. They’ve now asked if I’ll adopt him and I have until 5PM today. I’ve been torn and would love input from people with experience in adopting semi-feral cats. I want to know what challenges and behaviors I should expect if I take him

The stray visited my cat daily for weeks, and my cat would run out to greet him whenever he trilled. He was submissive, never competitive, and when my cat tried to play he showed that he didn’t like it, and it stopped without escalation. I wasn’t feeding him at first, so he was coming for the company. My cat is very social with other cats and has been friendly to two other unfamiliar cats who briefly entered our house. I expect the relationship would need re-establishing on shared territory, but the signs are good.

He started out keeping his distance from me, then sat calmly nearby and was comfortable coming right to my feet if my cat was with me. After a few times feeding him, not quite from my hand but close to, he calmly stepped over my legs (I was laying on my side) and wandered into the house. When I shut the door to get him microchip-checked, he panicked, hid, and has hissed, growled and swatted ever since, including two weeks at the shelter, who now class him as unsocialised, though they acknowledge the stress. They have asked me if I want to take him and if I will they will de sex and vaccinate him. They said they will otherwise need to euthanase him. I don’t want guilt to cloud my judgement, but I also want to give him a chance.

I don’t expect him to be cuddly. I just want to know if it seems he would adapt, and what it would take. Could it work or would I just be adding a nightmare to my life?

If it doesn’t work out, I’d consider euthanasia as a resort, but I’m worried about the in-between case: he adapts partway, stays difficult, and by then I’m attached enough that euthanasia feels too drastic. I’d like to know how likely that is, so I can decide now rather than later.

UPDATE: Theyve allowed me and extra day to decide. I have found out that there are groups who work spesficly with strays and I am trying to contact them to see if they can advice me and if we can work together. I'll give another update tomorrow.
