Let's build this together: Looking for mods who actually want to shape the community!

Hey everyone, the energy here has been amazing lately. To protect our "no strict rules, just build" vibe as we scale, it's time to bring on some mods.
I'm not looking for people to just enforce rules. We need "Culture Setters.”

If you are the kind of founder who loves giving feedback, starting good conversations, and has ideas on how to make this sub the absolute best resource for solo builders, I want you on the team. We need the energy that brings innovation and growth to the community, not just moderation.
Let me know in the comments if you want to help steer the ship!

Banned from r/startups. This is exactly why I created this sub!

You spend months building your product alone. But when you finally try to share it to get some feedback, big communities slam the door in your face: "No self-promotion!"

That’s exactly why r/StartupSoloFounder exists.

We are solo founders without massive marketing budgets. What others call "spam" is our blood, sweat, and tears. Here, sharing your project, dropping your link, and asking for feedback isn't a crime; it's the whole point.

Who else has hit this same wall?

Lone founder with a launched EV product, bringing in 2 friends (PhD engineer + compliance/risk expert) pre-funding. How would you structure equity and contracts?

I'm a solo founder/dev and have taken an EV product to launch stage. I'm now preparing to raise, but I need a real team first. I plan to bring in two long-time friends:
A PhD-level engineer
A compliance and risk specialist
No funding yet, so no salaries. Equity is the only currency. I'm in the UK.
My thinking so far: shares with vesting (4 years, 1-year cliff), a shareholders' agreement, IP assigned to the company, and clear roles.

Questions:
What equity ranges have you seen for late co-founders joining a launched product?

How do you value the work I've already done versus what they'll do from here?

How do you keep it fair between friends without it getting awkward later?

What would you put in the contract that you wish you'd included?
Any red flags I'm missing?

Happy to hear from founders who've done this, and from anyone who got burned.

After one year of GRINDING... I finally hit 2k in earnings!

Post image
• Upvotes

This is just so incredible... another huge milestone reached. I honestly never thought this was possible for me. But I did the thing...

I JUST STARTED!

I put together a working MVP. Just the bare minimum functionality. Bought a domain and put it out there. I posted about it here on Reddit and got in contact with the people who commented and started using it.

Payments have become a bit more frequent but still no viral, exponential growth, which is totally fine. Slow and steady growth is the key.

I followed a simple concept that just came to me naturally:

  • put out what you have
  • post about it
  • listen to feedback in the comments
  • implement the feedback and adapt quickly
  • start the loop over again

And after some time your product becomes so good that it no longer sounds absurd to charge money for some features.

Anyways... I'm super grateful that this is working out so well and I really think I've built a community that is actually useful to many people.

About the product:

I've built IndieAppCircle, a platform where small app developers can upload their apps and other people can give them feedback in exchange for credits. I grew it by posting about it here on Reddit. It didn't explode or something but I managed to get some slow but steady growth.

For those of you who never heard about IndieAppCircle, it works like this:

  • You can earn credits by testing indie apps (fun + you help other makers)
  • You can use credits to get your own app tested by real people
  • No fake accounts -> all testers are real users
  • Test more apps -> earn more credits -> your app will rank higher -> you get more visibility and more testers/users

Since many people suggested it to me in the comments, I have also created a community for IndieAppCircle: r/IndieAppCircle (you can ask questions or just post relevant stuff there).

Currently, there are 4284 users, 4551 tests done and 1209 apps uploaded!

You can check it out here (it's totally free): https://www.indieappcircle.com/

I'm glad for any feedback/suggestions/roasts in the comments.

I Built a MyExpert Home Services App for Kashmir. Would Love Your Honest Feedback

Hey everyone, I'm Musaib, a solo founder from Kashmir.

I've been building MyExpert, a platform designed to connect people with local service providers and help skilled professionals reach more customers.

The idea came from a simple problem: finding someone reliable for home services can be difficult, while many skilled local workers struggle to reach new customers.

With MyExpert, people can find services like plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting, home and carpet cleaning, gardening, mehendi artists, photography, and more.

We're currently serving customers in Srinagar and Budgam, Kashmir, and there's still a lot to improve.

I'm building this with the hope of making local services easier to find and creating more opportunities for people in our community.

I'd genuinely like to hear from people, especially those living in Kashmir:

What problems do you face when looking for local service providers? What would make you trust a service platform? What features would make an app like this genuinely useful?

I'm not claiming we've solved everything. We're still learning and building.

If you could improve one thing about finding home services in Kashmir, what would it be?

I'd appreciate honest feedback, suggestions, and criticism.

Disclosure: I'm the founder of MyExpert, so this post is about a project I'm building. Some AI-generated clips in the accompanying video are illustrative and don't depict actual service operations.

You can log food via -> taking image of the meal, manual, scan a barcode, and manual logging.
You can track how much water you have drank.
You can have a reminder for medicine, water, and more.
Community where you can add your friends and have challenges with them and more.

I have currently +650 users with over 200 in the past 10 days.

I am looking for people who want to be part of this journey.
The app is based here in the middle east and I am looking for people abroad from wherever that want to be part of this and we can discuss the details 1 to 1.
The app is up and running and just needs marketing and I have a big plans and clear path on what to do next.

What’s your way to get first clients.

I’ve been thinking what’s the fastest way to get clients/first clients for the startup. Of course it’s not easy but it’s not impossible. As with everything you need to learn how to do it properly.

I hit clients in b2b and b2c models and can say that it’s possible with the right approach.
Let me know how you are finding users.

Tracking my work in minutes helps me estimate better, notice distractions, and get started

I’m Feiou, the developer of Projectholic, a project planner for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Tracking focused minutes has helped my productivity in three ways: better estimates, noticing distractions, and starting sooner.

The useful comparison is the time I expected a task to take versus the focus I actually recorded. That gives me something concrete to adjust next time. Recording sessions also makes me pay more attention to interruptions. And starting a short session makes the next step feel more manageable.

Here’s a fictional example from the simulator: “Write the case study” has a 30-minute plan and two saved sessions of 25 and 22 minutes. That’s 47 minutes of focus, or 17 minutes over the estimate. It’s still marked unfinished. Time spent and a finished deliverable answer different questions.

My suggestion if you want to try this: pick one recurring kind of work, write down an estimate, record your focused sessions, and review both the total and the result before planning similar work again. You can do it with a notebook and a stopwatch too.

I don’t take the timer total as a productivity score. It’s useful when it changes a decision about the next task.

Projectholic is free to download with paid upgrades. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/projectholic-project-planner/id6745497754

Screenshots use fictional data in a local development build, 1.2.6 (44). The App Store currently lists 1.2.5; the interface may differ. These are demonstration numbers, not my personal results or customer outcomes.

For other solo builders: has tracking time changed your estimates, or does the bookkeeping get in the way?

Any solo founders looking for some help with sales?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I've been getting into B2B sales lately and wanted to connect with founders who might need an extra hand.

I've sold products to local businesses, done cold calling for a marketing agency, and completed a few sales certifications, including HubSpot.

I'm 15, so I'm still learning, but I genuinely enjoy sales and want to get more hands-on experience.

I know a lot of solo founders are busy building their products and don't always have time for prospecting, cold calling, and following up with potential customers.

That's where I'd love to help. I'm mainly interested in outreach, finding potential customers, and booking meetings.

Ideally, I'd like to work with a founder who already has a product or service launched and is looking to grow.

Not claiming to be an expert, just genuinely interested in learning and contributing.

If you're a founder who could use some help with sales, feel free to DM me! I'd love to hear what you're working on.

First paid app launch: would you show monthly, annual and founder lifetime on one paywall?

Solo iOS developer here. My health/wellness app has been free, and I'm preparing its first paid version. It puts sleep, recovery and energy signals into everyday context, with Apple Watch support.

The German base prices I want to launch with are:

- €9.99 monthly

- €59.99 annually, with a 7-day introductory trial for eligible users

- €149.99 one-time Founder Lifetime for the core features

I get the argument that two options are simpler. But I still want a lifetime option because I need some upfront cash flow and hope a few early users will choose it. I want feedback on how to offer that responsibly and clearly.

Welltory is one broad comparison: its public website currently lists $99/year and $599 lifetime and reports 17M+ downloads (checked 19 October). They're much more established, the feature sets differ, and these are USD web list prices, not a direct euro/store-price comparison.

Would you launch with all three options visible, emphasize annual with lifetime secondary, or keep lifetime separate as a founder offer? Is €149.99 too low relative to €59.99/year?

If you moved a small free app to paid, what convinced your first buyers, and what would you change about the initial offer?

Solo founder, first launch: a browser racing game with a 4-day prize contest. What would you do differently?

I've been building Pinball Race on my own in the evenings, and it's finally out: https://pinballrace.com.

It's simple. Pick 1 of 15 numbered balls and watch them race down a track. Points go 10 / 5 / 3 for the top three and 1 point for 4th–10th. Everyone gets 5 free plays a day, and you can earn bonus plays or send a friend a "Beat Me" challenge.

For launch I'm running a Founders' Championship until Mon 19 Oct, 12:59am UK, with a $100 gift voucher or PayPal for 1st and $50 for 2nd (free, 18+, open worldwide, rules on the site).

Being solo, I'm doing the marketing, the code and the support myself. If you've launched something on your own, what's the one thing you'd do differently in your first week?

Study system with Excel so I'm looking for partners

Thumbnail

I'm currently building a French system in Excel for students who do not want to use Notion or other complex platforms that may change their values without warning. So the idea is quite simple, helping students managing their time, notes, schedules, grades, exams and even budget (if they want.
But to make things easier I intend to release the English versions little by little as to not overload them unecessarly.
What I want is to create an advisory board with people who are willing to test the product, give me feedbacks and even maybe become sellers through affiliation.
So, to summarize, I get:
-honest feedbacks on my product and improve it based on them
-to work with people who wants to help others,
-to provide something that can really help many people around the world, no matter the country or language.

And on your side, you get:
-a 50% lifetime deal, no matter the product I sell
-to test the product and give me feedbacks
-be a part of an advisory board who'll help create a product that'll help people around the world

Based on the results, I may add more languages, and even go into other niches or other related products.

Above are screenshots of the French version.

A simple business automation I would start with: capture every inquiry in one place, assign an owner, trigger a timely follow-up, and track the outcome. Fancy AI isn't always the first step; fixing the process often comes first.
