Start Here: What r/IndieAppCircle Is, Who It’s For, and How to Get Better App Feedback

Welcome to r/IndieAppCircle - a community for indie developers, solo founders, and small startup teams who want better feedback on their apps. This subreddit is for people building real products and trying to improve onboarding, usability, messaging, first impressions, and launch readiness.

What this subreddit is for

Use this community if you want to:

  • Get honest feedback on your app
  • Find better ways to test your MVP
  • Improve onboarding and activation
  • Prepare for a launch
  • Learn how other indie developers get users and improve products
  • Share what you are building and what you are struggling with
  • Get updates on IndieAppCircle

What to post here

Good posts include:

  • Specific feedback requests
  • MVP questions
  • Onboarding or landing page critiques
  • Launch prep questions
  • Lessons from testing your app
  • Product teardowns
  • Wins and failures from building

How to ask for useful feedback

If you want better replies, do not just post “Here’s my app, thoughts?”

Instead, include:

  1. What your app does
  2. Who it is for
  3. What kind of feedback you want
  4. A direct link or a link to your app on IndieAppCircle
  5. One or two specific questions

Example:

That kind of post is much easier for people to engage with, and question-driven posts are one of the simplest ways to kickstart subreddit participation.

What this subreddit is not for

Please avoid:

  • Low-effort link drops
  • “Try my app” with no context
  • Fake review requests
  • Spammy self-promotion
  • Irrelevant startup content

How IndieAppCircle fits in

This subreddit is the community side of the idea.

  • r/IndieAppCircle = discussion, advice, teardowns, feedback prompts, launch conversations
  • IndieAppCircle = a more structured way to exchange app feedback with other builders

NEW UPLOAD Meet Embers — a customizable AI companion web app

Hi everyone! Over the past few months, I've been building Embers (https://emberscompanion.app), a web app focused on AI companions that actually remember what you talk about over time instead of resetting every few messages.

What it does:

Fully customizable companions (personality, background, appearance, and voice)

Long-term memory that builds naturally from conversations

Natural voice notes and photo exchanges

Runs directly in the browser on desktop and mobile (PWA — no app store download required)

There is a free tier to try it out. Premium subscription (billed immediately, no hidden trials, cancellable anytime directly from Settings) which helps cover the voice and AI infrastructure costs.

Feedback4Feedback Feedback: UPI tracker

I kept losing track of where my money was going because almost everything is UPI now. Manually logging each expense never lasted more than a week, and I didn’t want to give any app my bank login or SMS data to a server.

So I built Pinch. It reads the transaction notifications you already get from GPay, PhonePe, Paytm and your bank, and automatically pulls out the amount, merchant and category.

What it does:

  • Auto-tracks spends with no manual entry
  • Categorizes using an on-device AI model (nothing leaves your phone)
  • Detects duplicate alerts (bank SMS and UPI app for the same payment)
  • Shows monthly insights, top merchants and subscriptions
  • Lets you ask questions like “how much did I spend on food this month?”
  • No sign-up, no ads, encrypted local storage, CSV export

Play Store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sailesh.pinch

I’d really appreciate honest feedback. What would make this useful enough for you to use daily? What’s missing or annoying? I’ll reply to every comment.

NEW UPLOAD KOVURA: a science based recovery and workout tracker (16 year old developer)

Thumbnail

Hello everyone,

I am a 16 year old solo developer, and I recently developed KOVURA: a science based recovery and workout tracker.

It's a local only (no backend, or servers ever), workout logger that takes in data from Apple Health and your workouts to tell you how recovered you actually are, down to each muscle. No "black-box" scores, and kovura actually tells you how confident it is in its answer, and personalizes it to your body over time.

Highlights:

- Per-muscle body map showing what's recovered, what's sore and what's overloaded

- Daily readiness verdict: Ready to Train, Train Light or Prioritize Recovery

- HRV, resting heart rate and sleep from Apple Health, compared to your own baseline

- Learns how fast YOUR muscles recover from quick check-ins

- Injury risk flag when you ramp up training too fast

- Optional reaction time test as an extra fatigue signal

- Starter plans if you're new to lifting

- Lock Screen Live Activity and widgets

- No account, and your data never leaves your phone

Beta testers get Premium free, and keep it after launch.

I am looking for as many beta testers as possible. The app is easy to use for beginners.

Feedback4Feedback This is MY STORY

Hi everyone!
My name is Leo, I’m 14 years old, and I’ve been working on this project for about 2 to 3 months and About three months ago, I completely fell in love with the whole process of designing, developing, and marketing apps, and I’m really pushing myself to give it my all.
I’m currently building an app called Rival Squad. The main idea is that you can work out together with your friends and family by creating private tournaments. It’s packed with awesome features like custom challenges and fun activities to do with your group. Plus, if you prefer, you can also join public tournaments and compete against people online!
The app revolves around points, statistics, levels, and trackable progress to keep you motivated.
I’ve just launched a waiting list so you can be the first to know when the app officially releases. If you’d like to support my journey, I would really appreciate it if you could sign up with your email!

Thanks so much for reading!
(In the comments I’ll drop a short clip like this you can understand more about the main feature of the app)

Feedback4Feedback I built a free app to help people spend less time scrolling. What do you wish screen-time apps did better?

Hey everyone, I develop SloMo, a 100% free app for iPhone and Android that helps you put limits on distracting apps.

I originally build this for myself cause I keep getting distracted while working or just waiting for AI response while coding but existing options all have subscriptions or payment so I built a 100% free and offline version.

You can block apps for a set time, schedule recurring rules around your day, or unlock them by completing a walk or exercises like squats and push-ups. You can also track your screen time and progress, and share your progress if you want.

The idea is to give you different ways to manage your phone use, whether you need uninterrupted time to focus or a little pause before opening social media again.

There’s no account required, and the core features work offline. If you use the exercise option, you can count reps with the camera or manually.

I’d love to hear from people who have tried cutting back on scrolling: what do screen-time apps get wrong for you? Are they too easy to ignore, too complicated to set up, or missing something you need?

If you want to try SloMo:

And if you do try it, tell me what would make you keep using it—or what would make you uninstall it. I’m still improving it, and honest feedback would really help. Thanks!

Show us your SaaS, app or startup: promote it or ask for feedback

Welcome to the open thread. Whatever you're building, drop it here.

Two ways to use it:

  • Promote it. Share what you made and who it's for.
  • Ask for feedback. Tell us the one thing you want people to look at: your landing page, onboarding, pricing, or whether the idea makes sense at all.

If you haven't already, join www.indieappcircle.com - an app feedback exchange where indie devs give each other feedback on their apps!

Feedback4Feedback Untrod – an iPhone app that colours in every street you walk (free beta)

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi all! 👋

I'd love to share something I've been working on. Untrod is an iPhone app that colours in every street you walk on a map of your city and shows your % for each neighbourhood.

It might be for you if:

  • You always end up walking the same routes. Untrod shows where you've already been, and a daily quest takes you down streets you've never walked.
  • You like seeing your walks add up. Every walk builds into a map of everywhere you've been.
  • You're trying to walk every street in your town and have been tracking it with screenshots or other apps.
  • You walk your dog and don't want to stare at your screen the whole time.
  • You'd rather not compete with anyone. There's a Relaxed mode for that.

Along the way you collect stamps as you pass viewpoints, fountains, historic markers and notable trees, and you can bring in your past walks from Apple Health.

It's free to try while it's in beta, and I'm making it on my own. If you try it, I'd be really grateful to hear how it goes for you. Thank you! 😊

Try the beta

Discussion Claude max for $29 instead of $200 ... seriously how are they doing this?

i got a Claude max account from a reseller for essentially nothing compared to what I used to pay . It works flawless. since 3 months No issues yet i paid only for 1 month . Now I can't stop thinking about their business model. If resellers can sell it this cheap and still profit, how are they acquiring these accounts at scale?

Feedback4Feedback A user tried my free tier, disappeared, then came back and paid. Here's the pattern I noticed

Last week a founder ran the free check on their product and signed up within 5 minutes. Then nothing. No upgrade, no reply.

7 days later they came back on their own, ran a second check and paid in about 15 minutes.

What I took from it:

  1. The free part has to be useful on its own. They saw real Reddit threads about their problem before paying anything.
  2. Almost nobody buys on the first visit. They buy when they come back and it still makes sense.
  3. Between visit 1 and visit 2 your job isn't to chase them. It's to make the next visit worth it.
  4. The sale started with a post about a problem, not about my product.

That's the loop I keep building around: find where users already talk, post about their problem, give something useful for free, and make coming back worth it.

For those of you with a free tier: how long does it usually take between someone's first visit and their first payment?

Feedback4Feedback Proximate Marketplace

I made a local marketplace application

I built a standalone local marketplace app where buyers place a deposit on an item, but no money actually moves until the deal is done. No bringing cash to meet a stranger or guessing what payment methods they accept.

To cut down on fraud and junk listings, registration captures email, phone number, device, and Apple keychain attestation to prevent multiple accounts, and you must be within 25 miles of any listing you create.

I value my privacy and don't like social media knowing what I buy and sell, so I built a privacy mode that lets you trade without sharing your name, only your reputation as a buyer or seller.
Both parties agree on an exact meeting pin and time. One hour before the deal, each gets a reminder to check in and share their ETA. The transaction can only be completed when both are at the right place at the right time and slide to confirm.

The goal is to keep people safe by removing cash from deals with strangers, give sellers confidence the buyer is serious and won't ghost them, and make payments easy.

Please check out the TestFlight and let me know what you think. If you need help navigating anything, just ask.

Ciao a tutti,

Aspettiamo i vostri consigli.
