Wanting to Buy / In Search Of - September/October

This post will be the sole home for all “Wanting To Buy” (WTB) or “In Search Of” (ISO) requests.

If you’re on the hunt for a specific slipjoint, pattern, cover material, maker, or even a hard-to-find variation, this is the place to let the group know what you’re looking for. Drop a comment below with the details of what you’re trying to track down. The goal is to keep these requests centralized and give members a dedicated space to connect.

A lot of us have overlapping interests, extra pieces tucked away, or leads we’ve come across. This gives everyone a simple way to help one another out and keep great knives circulating within the group(s).

Example comments:
"ISO Great Eastern Cutlery 66 calf roper with unicorn covers."
"WTB Case 6347 with Red Jigged Bone"
"WTB some kind of barlow"

We'll see how this plays out, but I'm hoping to post a new thread every month to clean the slate and start fresh.

Looking forward to seeing what everyone’s chasing.

DISCLAIMER: any posts or comments offering knives for sale or trade in this thread will be removed. Please use r/Knife_Swap for all sales and trades. This thread is strictly for WTB / ISO requests.

As stated in other stickied posts, the moderators of r/SJK do NOT moderate or facilitate private sales or trades between users. However, we understand that sales and trades may still occur in private messages after someone posts a WTB / ISO request. Once conversations move to private chats, the only person who can truly moderate the transaction is you.

If you choose to pursue a transaction, do your due diligence. Ask for a timestamp you’re comfortable with, verify what you can, and always err on the side of caution. If it's too good to be true, it usually is. Be willing to walk away from the deal if anything seems off.

We strongly encourage using r/Knife_Swap for transactions whenever possible. It is a much safer environment with established rules and an active moderation team that helps enforce them.

Discussion Subreddit Update: Introducing Community History and Activity Flair Tiers

Hey everyone,

r/SJK is implementing a new automated system to help everyone easily identify account tenure and history within our subreddit. Moving forward, we are using user flairs to clearly distinguish between who is brand new to the community, who has been around a while, and who our true old timers are.

The Tiers are As Follows:

  • Walk N Talk (0+ Karma): The entry-level baseline. The moment you actively comment or post in our sub, you get this title. It helps us immediately separate active participants from completely silent lurkers and fresh accounts.
  • KNIFEAHOLIC (2000+ Karma): Applied to our regular, active contributors. This represents members who are consistently posting their carries, talking shop, and hanging out in the comment sections.
  • Old Timer (10,000+ Karma): The ultimate veteran status. This high threshold is strictly reserved for the true fixtures and pillars of our community, members who have spent months or years submitting high quality posts, dropping traditional pocket knife knowledge in the comments, and building a rapport within the sub.

(These flair rankings are all based on total community karma: comment and post karma combined.)

If you have a custom mod-assigned flair, it should remain intact. If not, please let me know.

These are fairly arbitrary rankings at the moment, I'm certainly open to suggestions on this.
Feel free to discuss below.

The system is officially live. Drop a comment below to check your current standing and see where your automated flair registers!

First Sharpening

71 came with the infamous blade rap. I know my way somewhat around the KME, but realised this is the first slipjoint I’ve sharpened on it - usually go for a pocket stone/Worksharp field. I also prefer 600/800 edges and wouldn’t be able to tell you where to buy 1000000 micron black hole conditioned emulsions, I’m a simple man, so no mirror paper tissue edges for me (no judgement though).

Just got this amazing Spyderco Drunken from a great and wonderful friend who grabbed me one when he got his during the clearance sale at KC! Thanks my brother!! It’s everything I thought it was going to be and then some. Easily can say the best Spyderco made to date! Paired with my black Micarta Calf Pen 35 from GEC and a badass ostrich slip made by Beard and Owl! Life has been insane and crazy, and I’m so blessed to have the things I have now, especially the good friends! I’m 10 years Cali sober, and I’m loving life finally, good hobbies, and close peeps. Life is good. God Bless, everyone have a great day!

Question Best Multiblade patterns

So I really enjoy multi-blade patterns, but so far my collection is mostly just Case- and while I have several of their 2 blade patterns, I really want to find some better 3 or even 4 blade ones that are decent for carrying.

I like the stockman, and I have a couple variations, and I have a small congress which is just too small for me.

Does anyone have any recommendations for 3-4 blade patterns that they love? Case ideally but I’m open to other brands as well!
