Is it normal to be prescribed Narcan?

I asked my doctor for butrans in pill form (which I’ve had the film in the past) to which she said since she wasn’t sure if there was a pill form (there is) and then she prescribed me narcan?? And my mom picked up my meds for me when I meant to leave the narcan so now it’s on my chart and I don’t want the stigma. I’ve been taking the exact same pain pill dosage (oxycodone) and quantity (56) and even refill date for like 15 years. I’ve tried other meds but this has been a constant. I had narcan once before, shortly after I came to this new doctor. I just don’t understand why is be prescribed narcan after all this time, when nothing has changed about my interaction with the medicine. Am I being irrational?

Does anyone have a hard labor job and if so what’s your experience and how do you manage. I can get inside the union and work construction but I’m unsure not knowing how my body will handle it I’m still young and in my prime but hours of hard labor and weather conditions might not mix well

Support Group in DFW

Hello everyone! My name is Alexander, I’m 28 years old, and I live in the Dallas area. I have sickle cell disease and I know the challenges that come with living with it. I’ve been thinking about starting a support group here in the DFW area where fellow sickle cell warriors can meet in person, connect, share our experiences and support one another. I want to create a space where we can come together regularly, build friendships, encourage each other and have people around us who truly understand what living with sickle cell is like.

If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, please comment below or send me a message. I’d love to connect with other warriors in the area and hopefully build something meaningful together!

Thank you!

I applied for ssdi but don't have a chance?

I barely get sick I have bera thalessmia minor..I'm 52 and I lost my hearing in my left ear completely and wear hearing aids.

The thing is I can probably do jobs that don't require much physical activity like gas station clerk or security guard.

Am I wasting time applying? I got my records from the hospital and it's 1700 pages and I'm going to send them to ssdi.

Is this worth it? I was told not.to.work while applying because it messes up the cause.
