Other Zašto se kaže BeograĐanin i SpliĆanin a ne Beogradanin i Splitanin
Koliko ja znam samo zatvoreni samoglasnici mogu da vode do palatalizacije suglasnika. Kako je onda sufiks “anin” pretvorio D u Đ i T u Ć?

I've updated all of the charts I previously posted here with a variety of new improvements, including a design pass that made everything prettier.
Thanks for all the feedback I've gotten here on r/Serbian in the past for previous versions of these charts. And special thanks to u/Dan13l_N whose extremely detailed/expert feedback has led to lots of improvements and corrections.
Click the links (not the preview images) below to see the full A4-sized PDFs.

One of the changes in the cases chart (and in all the others) is that the gender order is now masculine ➜ neuter ➜ feminine (instead of the former M ➜ F ➜ N), which enabled making some things simpler and more consistent.

Feedback is of course welcome! I'd also love to hear what would be most helpful to cover in future charts (e.g., prepositions, numbers and time, comparative/superlative, basic vocabulary, etc.).
Edit: I've now given these charts a home online here: Serbian language charts. I'll post any updates and future charts there as well.

Zdravo svima!
Govori Serbian dictionary just got a few huge updates, and as a creator of it, I'd like to share them with you.
First, Govori is now available in online (browser) version, in addition to existing mobile apps. You can see meanings, usage examples, full grammar tables, related words etc. Govori shows accent position and type for most of the words. Basically, it's designed to be your daily learner's dictionary. Govori Web is still in beta, so expect a few bugs here and there, and I'd be more to see your feedback in comments so I can fix it and make it more convenient for your daily use.
Next, Govori has just got a bump in content: now it has ca. 54 000 words and expressions. This is more than some offline dictionaries, actually. In part it became possible because of agreement with Irina Antanasijević, a philologist and professor at Belgrade university, who gave us permission to include her work as part of Govori.
French + German are available now for the first time as translation languages. Now you can see all meanings and usage examples on any of the four languages: English, French, German, and Russian. French and German are only available on the web for now, and I need a week or so to bring them to the mobile apps as well.
This work has been possible due to users paying for a lifetime full access Plus option. Thank you, guys! Every Plus purchase or subscription bought before or after this announcement works across all platforms. You just have to sign into the same account on mobile and Web, and Plus will be applied everywhere. If you didn't have a mobile app before and want to use Plus for Govori Web, you have this option, too.
Ah, and one more important thing: REDDITWEB is your promo code to get 20% discount for Govori mobile or web. Use it till the end of October. Plus opens grammar tables and more meanings and usage examples, a very nice thing to have. Use REDDITWEBY promo code if you want a yearly subscription instead.
Please leave any feedback or suggestions in the comments below!

Naučio sam prvo hrvatski jezik ali govor mi se srbifikuje što više blejim sa Srbima. Primijetio sam i u Hrvatskoj da se neki srbizmi koriste pogotovo u istočnim dijelovima - “sirće,” “kašika,” “bašta,” “iljada,” “minut,” “biber,” “peškir,” “penzija,” itd. Vjerovatno (!) zaboravim još neke riječi ali jbg.
Jel ima obrnuti fenomen?

Hi r/Serbian, I'm a long time follower and created the Serbian grammar charts that have been pinned here for the last few years, which were built with extensive feedback and support from this community.
For the last 16 months I've been building a vocabulary-first language learning app, with a tiny team. Partly this was driven by wanting to create the best Serbian app for beginners, and for myself to use: something fun and easy that can be built into a daily habit, but that also understands the nuances and complexity of Serbian.
Sugu is the result of that journey, and of course I'd love your feedback. It supports 9 languages (with more coming), but I'll focus on Serbian here. The Serbian support was a work of love - here are some examples of how we've tried to make it great:
And of course, we want to continue making things better in future versions.
Sugu is free for now, with no subscriptions and nothing to cancel. That's true for at least 2 months. We'll add subscriptions in the future, but there will always be a free version.
Right now it only supports iOS, but Android will come, along with many new features, languages, and improvements. Since there are many Russian speakers in Serbia who want to learn Serbian, I'll also mention that support for Russian as an interface language and study language is also planned for the future.
I'd love your feedback! https://sugu.now/

I moved to Belgrade from USA for work and I’m looking for someone who can come to my apartment a few times a week and maybe assign homework etc.
Is there an ideal website to find someone like this? Prefer in person, but also not wanting to travel to a school.
Most online material is focused on Croatian, although I somewhat realize they’re the same, and too grammar heavy IMO. I just want to learn words and sentences so I’m not a total idiot, I don’t even know English grammar it’s pointless.
P.S. Best food of my life here in Belgrade. Truly every meal is a treat. This has convinced me Americans are being poisoned.

I have both keyboards installed, and I've noticed these respective letters exist on the keyboards despite them not actually existing in the respective alphabets for Cyrillic/Latin. So, why?

Hey, everyone!
Let’s get straight to it.
I’m new here and the thing is, I’m moving to Serbia next year.
I don’t exactly know how to speak Serbian, but I want to learn it.
I know phrases like:
Jebem ti mater.
OR…
Slatka si!
OR…
Govno jedno.
OR…
Sladak si!
OR…
Priprema…..
I’ve been looking for resources online and that is great and all, but I was hoping to also make some Serbian friends to help me out while I learn it.
It would be really nice, because I know that practicing Serbian by myself won’t be enough (I’ve learned Norwegian — 2 years, and a bit of French and German, etc.), but if there’s anything that I’ve learned from learning new languages is that practicing it with someone is the best way to fully appreciate (well I already like the Serbian language) and understand how the language works.
Would you please send me a DM if you have some spare time on your hands and you are Serbian and you want to be friends?
Or if not, just upvote, and comment, etc.?
I would really appreciate it!
Thank you for reading~
Have a nice day!

For info, I study russian in uni but I'm a native English speaker. Just copied out some words from a song, rather than writing an original piece. Also my Latin script handwriting is dogshit

Zdravo svima!
I'm Denis, a solo developer learning Serbian-Croatian myself. Citavuk lets you read real Serbian books and news and tap any word: you get its meaning in that exact sentence, the base form and the grammar (case, tense, person).
And it has its own tiktok which includes videos from yt shorts, instagram reels and so on.
There's also a grammar course and exercises from A1 to C1. Free, no ads, open source.
Link in the comments. Feedback is very welcome!

Hola, ¿alguien ha estudiado lengua y literatura serbia?
Si es así, ¿podrían decirme qué tan difícil es matricularse en esos estudios, qué tan difícil es estudiarlos y qué posibilidades hay de conseguir trabajo después de graduarse?
¿Qué tan difícil es convertirse en asistente o profesor en ese departamento?

Dear Serbians, I want you to ask do you trully have a raibow acronym "car nikola živi za pravdu, mir i ljubav"? If it is not a proper variant, can you write down a correct one? Хвала!

Ово потиче из "Србске Грамматике" Илије Захаријевића, из 1847. године. (извор:https://digital.bms.rs/ebiblioteka/pageFlip/reader/index.php?type=publications&id=5350&m=2#page/8/mode/2up)
Сва остала слова очигледно носе своје старословенске називе али одакле ЋАР, ЂА и ЏИДА? Зна ли неко?
