For Critique Italics

I’ve been learning italics since early this year with very slow and steady progress. This is a recent work, and I would appreciate this community’s critique and feedback.

I still need a lot of practice in the basics of keeping consistent slant and spacing, but I am also wondering how to take my work to the next level to make it look more beautiful and refined.

One thing I notice is that I am not able to achieve a very thin hairline stroke with smaller nibs. (In this particular piece I used a 1mm brause nib with Higgins ink.) This is not a problem when I use larger nibs, but I’m finding it difficult when I want to create longer text with a smaller nib. Any tips would be much appreciated.

Thank you!
