Thank you to the League of Women Voters of San Diego for hosting the District 2 candidate forum on September 28th, 2026 and for keeping voters informed on important issues.

Here are the full answers from Richard Bailey and Nicole Crosby, side by side. We are sharing what each candidate said at a public forum so voters can hear it for themselves.

Public Power San Diego is a nonpartisan 501(c)(3). This post is not an endorsement of, or opposition to, either candidate. Views expressed are the candidates' own and do not reflect those of the League of Women Voters nor Public Power San Diego.

San Diego Community Only White Supremacist in Del Cerro

Post image

Saw a guy on a motorcycle pull out of his driveway in Del Cerro. He had these SS stickers on his windshield and on the back of his helmet, and a support your local pecker woods sticker on the back of his bike.

Is this common in the Del Cerro neighborhood? I just want to be aware if there are pockets of white supremacists in the area, I can’t stand this type of stuff people should be ashamed.

CARLSBAD, Calif. — Outrage is growing over the decision to penalize a Carlsbad Pop Warner cheer coach and her athletes after they chose to sit out games due to extreme heat. The incident occurred on October 3 at Sage Creek High School, when San Diego County was under an extreme heat warning. Coach Sarah Publico cancelled her cheerleaders' performances after a seven-year-old cheerleader fell ill during a morning game, prioritizing the safety of her team.

Is getting blacked-out tinted windows a prerequisite for being an inconsiderate driver?

Post image

.

There's something about every extra dark shade of tint that makes certain drivers think they're operating a classified government vehicle instead of their a clapped-out commuter vehicle. First 5 seconds after a red signal is more like a yellow, pedestrians become annoying obstacles, and traffic laws are apparently for people who can be identified. Seems like the darker the tint, the bigger the douchebag behind it.

Hard time finding a hospital job in San Diego

I am trying to make a move into healthcare as I go through an MRI program but i am not having any luck. I’ve been applying to roles like patient/access rep and patient transporter but my application keeps on getting rejected going on 6 months. I thought it maybe due to my lack of experience but I keep on hearing from family/friends working in hospitals that it’s typical for fresh people to get hired for these roles.

I have over 8 years of customer service experience with 5 of those years in financial services roles, BLS cert, And a B.S. Degree in Business Administration.

Any healthcare workers on this thread have any advice/words for me?

Heartbroken — Looking for the local artisan who made this ring, bought at a La Jolla market (March 2022)

Post image
11 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I am deeply heartbroken because I just lost a ring that means the world to me, it was a gift from my grandmother. 💔

My grandmother bought me this Sterling Silver (925) ring with an oval amethyst and small bead details on the sides back in March 2022 at an outdoor market in La Jolla (near the coast/cliffs).

I am desperately trying to find the original jeweler or artisan to see if I can get in touch with them or buy a replacement. If you recognize this style or know which vendor used to sell silver rings like this at the local La Jolla markets, please let me know!

Any help or leads would mean everything to me. Thank you so much! 💜✨

Places for adults to dress up for Halloween?

my boyfriend & I don't have any friends who are throwing a halloween party this year, but I really wanna dress up & go out.
are there any places where adults can go to dress up?

I know there are lots of festive bars , but we aren't drinkers so I prefer not to do that.
