Smoked 20x salvia divinorum extract from salvia palace and only felt a strong pulling sensation. I smoked a fair bit of it and don't know why I didn't get the full effects. I used a torch lighter too. Does anyone have any tips?

I just tried a few low doses of salvia, and had the sensation of a man and a woman being nearby. It wasn't like I had any reason to believe they were there, I simply knew that they were there.

So my guess is that the brain is constantly keeping track of the people nearby and shit like that, even if they aren't actively in your field of view or making any noise, because why wouldn't it? Just as part of general social and situational modeling. But, what would happen if this part of the brain started "hallucinating"? You'd get a "felt presence" of people being nearby, without actually having any kind of real hallucination. Someone who had something fucky with that part of their brain would be sensing presences everywhere all the time, and probably genuinely believe they're a psychic medium.

This kind of shit is why I got into salvia, insights into consciousness and how the mind works.

Hey everyone, very new to this sub. I’m 18 (19 in december) and for the past month I’ve been super interested in salvia - I’ve never had this kind of interest in any other substance. I haven’t tried it yet but I’m not sure I can hold out until I’m 25, when the brain is fully formed and all that.... And I got curious to hear stories from other people whose first experience was around my age or slightly older. Are there any effects from salvia that stayed with you forever? Would you say that salvia affected you in a bad way in the long run?

This is long but if you have time, please read it because I’m genuinely need an explanation. Please don’t get mad. I did use AI to prompt me this question so I can ask you guys on Reddit. My grammar is pretty bad and bad at explaining things good So I wanted to make it sound professional so you guys could understand better.

2. My unexpected experiences after sex with women
I have had sex with two different women and smoked salvia afterward. In both cases, I ejaculated, yet I experienced something very different from what usually happens after masturbation.

Encounter with the first woman
This woman had a lifestyle I perceived as unhealthy. She used substances such as cocaine, drank alcohol, and approached sex recreationally. Like having sex with a lot of guys.

I expected to experience a negative trip because I believed I might absorb negative energy through sexual intimacy. I did not perform any grounding or cleansing beforehand.

Surprisingly, I had a positive salvia experience and felt deeply connected to God. I did not notice any negative energy around my sacral chakra.

Encounter with the second woman
This woman had comparatively healthier habits. At least with the drug use, but she’s had the negative habit of having sex with a lot of guys also, and After sex and ejaculation, I performed an extensive grounding and cleansing ritual. I felt cleansed and spiritually prepared before smoking salvia.

First salvia trip: I experienced a powerful, positive trip and felt strongly connected to God. I was confused because I had ejaculated but had not experienced the spiritual depletion I usually associate with masturbation.

I focused my intention on understanding where my spiritual energy was coming from. During the experience, I received what felt like a clear message from Salvia: I was connecting to God through the woman’s feminine divine energy rather than relying exclusively on my own sexual energy.

My interpretation was that sexual energy had been exchanged between us. I had released my semen and experienced some depletion of my own energy, but I had also received a different type of energy from her. I felt as though these two things coexisted.

What is the most plausible explanation for why partnered sex seems to allow me to maintain my connection to God through what feels like a transfer of feminine divine energy, while a separate, localized virus-like negative energy appeared around my sacral chakra during a second salvia trip with the same partner—even though I had thoroughly cleansed myself, and even though my first encounter with a different woman involved no cleansing and produced no negative sensations?

So i’m wondering, how risky is salvia for someone’s mental state. is it the same as the usual psychedelic rundown or is there something unique ?
i’m talking like say psychosis, triggering underlying mental illness?

I liked the interview with the salvia pipe inventor dude AKA Christopher Solomon.

I disliked how the author suggests not using salvia when anxious or depressed because it will amplify your emotions "anxiety becomes cosmic dread, depression becomes the heat death of the universe".

This does not reflect my experience at all, salvia is unlike typical paychedelics in that respect. I intentionally try to remember to use salvia if I ever need help returning to baseline.

The book seems to paint a somewhat scary overly cautious picture of salvia in my eyes. Somehow there are heaps of warnings but when it comes to proper safety information We are not warned not to use salvia near access to heights, bodies of water nor traffic.

The author claims salvia sits in a peculiar place as it lacks among other things "cosmic love". I don't know what cosmic love is but users do report that salvia is capable of being very loving.

I would have liked the salvia book to be more informed about salvia but that isn't to say it is not full of information about the herb and its history.

I’ve always been fascinated by visuals, and altered states of consciousness, which naturally brought me to Salvia. So finally decided to take the plunge. So far upon searching plain leaf wasn't available—pretty much everything available starts at 20x extract online.
Then I was planning on using 20mg 20x with my water bong( which I think its right dosage). The problem is that 20mg is I think such a tiny material that I’m worried it’ll get pulled straight through the bowl hole before it even gets properly lighted. So question is, can I just pack a small bed of weed at the bottom and top it with the 20mg of Salvia? Or how do you guys usually pack bowls for such small extract doses?

For reference: I had been smoking weed for 6 years (dabbing, reclaim edibles) so Im not that concerned and many trips just sharing my baseline

2am rant just thinking a lot about the suicide of RJ Mitte (Walter jr from breaking bad). I swear more people need to suggest the idea of an earth/mind shattering psychedelic experience before fully ending it. Like if you’re really gonna kill yourself just have this experience first and then just kill yourself tomorrow worst case, but u never know could come out wanting to actually live.

I was pretty suicidal 9 years ago and a 35x breakthrough had me witness my own death entirely and after the reassembly of my psyche I gained such an appreciation for life that lasted years and still lingers to this day. I first started smoking salvia in 2024 and then took a break until this year, 2026. Ive been mainly using plain leaf. Plain leaf has been foggy, and surprisingly intense. I’ve gotten some visuals enrichment and distortions but not as much as 10x. Plain leaf has been very weird and sometimes accompanied by uncomfortable body load. the body load of plain leaf consists of warping, morphing, and twisting. The mental space gets more chaotic and distorted almost like a cross of DXM and mushrooms.

In 2024 I mainly used 10x. I tried 10x for the first time since 2024 just a couple hours ago. I loaded up 3 bowls of 10x. A pinch each. It was surprisingly very lucid. I felt more in tune with my body, but I didn’t get the melting spiritual side I do on plain leaf. Plain leaf sometimes gives me this moving pulse in my body aswell with melting into the surface I’m sitting on. However with 10x it’s been lucid and more body calming. My mind got the signature salvia spinning buzz along with tingling bug my thoughts weren’t fragmented. They were more coherent then my regular train of thought. From the first bowl to me typing this my train of thought seems to be the pinnacle of the normal train of thought. I can’t tell if this is how “normal” people think or if my consciousness has become more aware than it normally is.

I must note that I do light, mild, and moderate dosages and sometimes sub breakthrough but never full breakthrough dosages. I also prefill multiple bowls for plain leaf and 10x. If you want to see a photo of my plain leaf dosages vs my 10x dosages I can supply that in the comments. This may be the culprit for the differences. I was expecting my return to 10x to be a more extreme version of plain leaf, but it turned out to be the opposite side of the weird coin that is salvia. I would be delighted to hear your thoughts and comparisons of these to potencies.

(Even though plain leaf has given me scarier experiences I prefer it over 10x😬)
