In firefox when you want to add a new bookmark, you click on command+d and the pop up appears just like in safari. However, what safari does not do in the same pop us is tell you if you have already saved this bookmark and where you have saved it.
Safari will automatically show you the last bookmark folder you have saved the last thing in. Firefox does that too UNLESS the website is already saved somewhere. Safari is really not intuitive. Is there another shortcut that does what firefox does?
Sometimes I forget if I have saved something and where... And I have to go play around until find if and where it is. Idk if this is a common thing but no, I do not always remember where I saved something ◠̈ I have a ton of folders to try to organise all my interests which sometimes can be a bit overlapping. And unfortunately, I have too many interests. Thus is my life with adhd.

Hi everyone, I need your help.
So I just updated my MacOS from Ventura to Sequoia (MBP M1) and after I did it, my Safari keeps showing This Connection Is Not Private page and won't let me access most of websites, for example :
- LinkedIn
- Reddit
- Facebook (stuck on verification page)
- Youtube (opened but the video won't play)
- and many more
I tried to clear the caches and reset the clock but it still doesn't work. I tried open the sites from Private Windows, and it won't work either. But when I tried opened the sites on Google Chrome, it works perfectly fine.
I prefer to use Safari over Chrome because it's lighter, so I hope I can fix this issue.
TIA, cheers

This issue is new. I’m adult and haven’t set any restrictions on my iPhone. I haven’t changed any screen time settings or anything else, but I still get this when if I search a topic that is NSFW.
It happens only on safari. The Google app is fine. Incognito does not fix it. My account settings enable graphic content. It doesn’t happen on my MacBook though. Does anyone know if there are settings I maybe turned on for safari in my phone that is causing this issue?

Whenever I go on youtube on Safari, everything starts out find then the video says it has an error. I've only experienced this with safari and I have no idea what is going on.

I had two windows open, and accidentally the one with tabs was closed.
I tried holding the Safari button in the dock, but open closed tabs did not come up. I made sure to enable stage manager. When testing I had closed one of the windows that popped up, this did appear when I clicked restore window, but not the important one. I did not shut down my iPad.
I held the plus button, but it only showed my recent history, which did not include most of my tabs.
Is there anything I can do to recover my window with all my tabs? I’m really upset, I need help, please don’t just downvote me. I don’t know why my other post was downvoted so much, I really need help. I checked this subreddit, but no one had answers to similar questions, so I hope maybe there is new info.

EFF's Privacy Badger is now available for Safari on macOS. You'll need Safari 26.5 or higher on macOS to use it.
Privacy Badger goes beyond Safari’s built-in privacy features to provide additional protection against online tracking. Privacy Badger works well by itself, and will continue to enhance your privacy when installed alongside an ad blocker, or when Safari is configured to block known trackers in all windows.
You can learn more about Privacy Badger's features here: https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2025/03/online-tracking-out-control-privacy-badger-can-help-you-fight-back

In Firefox the Reddit comment area was open and ready for a comment. Now, in Safari the comment area is very narrow, maybe an ⅛ up/down and is filled with a grey bar. That is true for the search bar at the top of each Reddit page. When I click within the comment or search area the bar may remain in place entirely hiding the comment/search are until I begin to type or it may open the comment/search area to allow me to see what I am typing. It's not a huge thing but it's a visual nastiness. Wondering if I'm missing something via Reddit or if it's just a Safari thing and what, if anything can be done to cure this horrible atrocity. :(
YouTube seems to be rolling out a change that gives you the mobile version of youtube even if you request the desktop version. Don't like it? Visit the following link https://www.youtube.com/?app=desktop&persist_app=1 and it should switch you back persistently.

Does anyone know how to create a Safari extension that automatically deletes browsing history and website data when Safari is closed?
Most Chromium-based browsers already have these settings built in.

Until recently, I could have several regular tabs open in Safari, click the red close button, and leave Safari running. When I clicked Safari in the Dock again, the window came back with all the same tabs.
Now clicking the red button closes the window, but opening Safari from the Dock gives me a fresh window and the tabs are gone. I’m on macOS 27.0.1 and have already checked the session and window restoration settings.
Did anyone else have exactly this behavior? Was it tied to a particular Safari version, possibly a bug that was later fixed, and is there any native way to get it back?

Hey everyone! I was just thinking how amazing it would be if we could get support for multiple Picture-in-Picture windows at the same time. I know Firefox has this feature built-in, and it would be awesome if we could get something similar, especially if the windows stayed on top of everything else!

You know the drill: you tap “play” on some streaming or download site and suddenly you’re looking at three new tabs, a fake “your iPhone has a virus” page, or the App Store opening an app you never asked for. You close them, go back, tap again… and it happens again.
I’m the developer of AutoClose, a Safari extension for iPhone, iPad and Mac. It does one thing really well: pages can’t open new tabs or launch apps behind your back.
What it does:
target="_blank", window.open, pop-under tricks)What it doesn’t do:
It also keeps a counter, so you can see how many tabs and app jumps it stopped. That number gets surprisingly big.
Pricing, upfront: blocking specific sites is free forever. The AutoClose protection (blocking new tabs and app jumps) has 3 free days, then it’s Premium.
I’d love feedback, especially sites where it misbehaves.

So I've had this longstanding bad habit of whenever my iPhone data gets totally full, if I open Safari, all open tabs are instantly wiped. This glitch has existed since I've had my iPhone 14 Pro since it came out, present in all major versions of iOS.
This is obviously a glitch & given that it isn't an actual deletion initiated by the user, does anyone know of any tools or apps I might be able to use to extract my entire Safari history?
Willing to even pay for some solutions, programs. It's just sad a lot of research I've done has been repeatedly lost.
