A depressing but predictable percentage of personnel have flunked their mandatory safety classes, and an even more depressing and more predictable percentage flunked the ethics classes. I hardly need to point out that failure to take these things seriously has cost us a great deal of money, time, money, limbs, lives, and money. You people might not care if you live or die yourselves, but the person next to you probably does, and you should at least care about the money. Bonuses would be more forthcoming if we weren't constantly having to fix unexpected damage. This is also one of the reasons we don't have some of the newer vending machines, although Dr. Tavi is most of the remaining reasons. Let's pull together and try to have a fiscal quarter that makes corporate blush from inappropriate feelings. I'm counting on you.
The long-form news is on the forums. Yesterday (I meant it to be Wednesday, but oh well) I got out the promised make-up Patreon post, which is for Patrons only; because it was overdue I felt it important that it be a juicy one, so it's about background procs—not the set background=1 kind, but an internal nomenclature for procs that wake on a signal. Today's early-access post is about how the icon format is stored internally. Thank you for the well wishes last week; I'm glad to say my wife's situation has been improving, albeit not without some ups and downs. It's been a challenge getting back on track, not just from that but from some other life issues that popped up this week. Take care of yourselves, and keep the mad scientists in check. I'll be back.

In response to the need for remedial classes on ethics and safety, corporate sent over a new four-week curriculum that seems to have worked on Space Station 8, so I know we'll smash those results. Chief Lau has volunteered her own remedial cadets to oversee compliance, which should keep everyone just on-edge enough to take this seriously. I hope that once this adjustment period is settled, we can see long-term improvements in accident statistics across the board. The new researchers who sailed through the previous classes are now getting on with their work properly, and if we're lucky it won't result in plant monsters, ambulatory explosives, exceptionally bright rogue AIs, or major bluespace ruptures. Because of the ongoing classes, corridor tag teams have been rearranged for the next series, so those of you with the free time should get to know your new squad mates. A prepared station is a well-compensated station!
#define. There's more on the forums. Today's early-access Patreon post is about the string tree and how it's organized, and why balance is such a tricky issue. To say life is in massive chaos right now is an understatement, but I'll keep chugging along. In trying times, remember, we are Groot. Catch you next week.

Looking for the classic BYOND game "Cow RP" by Bovine_Buddy.
Would appreciate if anyone has the host files (.dmb and .rsc) or source code

I've been playing this game far too long and not sure what is still in vogue and being run.
I can't find much info on if the SCP server line exists and/or has improved still.
Can anyone help out?

These are all different characters in Paradise Station.
Logic was by far the most complicated, since the art was entirely by scratch, and not a complex edit or a simple redesign.
Still waiting for Paradise Station 14 ☹️ . I may do more skills in the future.

*consulta as anotações*... droga...

Hey all, my friends and I have been building a tool called dmfast that patches and speeds up BYOND's compiler and server for a little bit now.
/tg/station compile went from over a minute to under 6 seconds, and tg's world load on Windows fell from about 6.7 seconds to about 1 second. This will vary a lot on your machines, but we've had people's times go down from 2+ minutes to 20 seconds.
It works on Windows and Linux as well as BYOND 515 and 516 with a single .exe installer.
You just run the installer on your BYOND install and use BYOND as usual.
If the patches detect they aren't compatible, they'll auto-disable and if something ever breaks you can switch individual patches off or uninstall super easily.
Download: https://github.com/blue-tarpaulin/dmfast
We're also including opt-in-only bugfixes for things like RSC corruption, bad compiles, and broken runtime operations.
Right now, the code patches are private, but you can file an issue if you want access. We just believe that publishing internals of how the compiler works is not what the developer of BYOND wants at the moment.
However, there's a writeup of what each one does - and for the optional bugfixes, a bit more detail on how these were accomplished if one wanted to port these to BYOND.
We made this to accelerate SS13's ability to create fun, creative, and engaging content. Being stuck with an extremely slow compiler wasn't furthering that goal.
If you have any questions please ask - and if you hit a problem or want to give feedback, please open an issue.

Once, a terrible monster threatened the station. None was robust enough to kill it except the greytider. Once she slayed the beast she became insane with bloodlust. Only when she stepped upon the CE did she remember to ASSIST.

Inked with one attempt after sketching. If I made mistakes too bad. Inspired by my own ongoing computer issues and an idea user Ferrius_Nillan had about a "smart ass gun" I reworked for this. (Edited for mispeaking)

This is a basic summary of all the going-ons and happenings in TGstation in the last month, along with any upcoming events and highlights.
Hi all, apologies for such a belated post. All this bother with the new headmins would have anyone up in arms.
Oh, yeah, we have new headmins! The Headmin Election that was running through September has concluded, and we have new overlords to rule over us. Results as follows:
Headmin Vote - NoxVS
Admin Vote - OmegaDarkPotato
Player Vote - John Henry Eton
A big congratulations to our winners, and thank you to all candidates for running this election.
Additionally, there is a mapping contest going on. Running from the first of October to November, which you can learn about here.
The prize for the grand winner of this contest is any steam game under $100, as well as another steam game under $100 graciously offered by Jamarkus.
The Terry and Manuel weekly scheduled rounds, on Friday and Saturday respectively. See the events calendar for more info.
A lot of posts have been blitzed and closed, so you can check all the closed posts here.
N/A.
JohnHenryEton is now a Head Admin Candidate, awaiting swap over.
OmegaDarkPotato is now a Head Admin Candidate, awaiting swap over.
NoxVS is now a Head Admin Candidate, awaiting swap over.
Congratulations to countrygal68 for winning the picture contest with this picture of a completely ordinary Nanotrasen Captain. They’re not a “felinid coomer” and any suggestions otherwise will be served an immediate D-Notice. Thank you.
You can win a token too, through the monthly contest held in #screenshots general on our discord. Vie for your major antag token and get any normal antag you could get normally. That means no asking for Chrono Legionaire. I mean it.

Bastion Station is a "M&RP" - "Mechanics & Roleplay" server, what does that mean?
That we want to preserve the sanctity of the game's mechanics, honouring it as much as much as we enjoy roleplay! This game was made to be fun- and it is!
Our rules are quite relaxed so long as you're not doing the exact same gimmick time after time- And if it's funny and everyone's having fun, we will let some things slide! We do rule harshly against slurs, offensive, or sexual content, though a bit of innuendo or playful jokes are fine.
We're currently a fork of Monkestation with piss and farting removed, along with the removal of metacurrency and lootboxes. We have revolutionaries returned, with many other projects starting in the works that will individualize our server as our own in time.
I would love to curate a community that is kind and pleasant to one another, even if we blow eachother up quite violently in round! Because death is to be expected in SS13, we are experimenting with things like respawns, to help mitigate the bitterness and salt after dying. We hope everyone has a fun time!
We also have a "Game Master" role, which takes control of dynamic/storyteller and paces the round based on what players are doing in round. They have been directed to "enhance" the shift for players, and help players do unique gimmicks and stories from round to round! They will respond to prayers, faxes, opfors, etc... So far it's been great for everyone involved!
There's more information on the discord if you're interested, I hope to see you all around!
There's shifts on right now if you're reading this post shortly after it's been created, but no fret if you missed out, Bastion will run at limited timeslots everyday!
