Has anyone seen one like this before? How does the bayonet fit into the wooden stock?

What’s everyone opinion on the quality of Sterling?

So far, I’ve tried soaking in PB Blaster overnight and boiling water for fifteen minutes, but the only thing that did was leave some flash rust on the bolt that won’t come off.
I’ve tried all sorts of punches and all sorts of hammers, but the pin just won’t budge. I need to take it out and clean it because my SKS has been slam firing, but I haven’t had any luck with getting it out.

Can someone help me to identify if this is a true paratrooper or is garage cut job on a standard sks? Thank you in advance

Looking to see if anyone can recommend a smith thats experienced with SKS/AK's. I'm in western MO, not afraid to travel if need be. Have an SKS that needs work; it's a pre-ban virgin and I would prefer someone experienced repair it, rather than have some random hack "give it a try"...

I got this a couple weeks ago and have learned so much about the sks in the last couple weeks. I already had a norinco but this russian has my mind blown. Im trying to figure out if it is all original non refurbished or if it has been. I have looked for the markings google has talked about for refurbished and not been able to find any. Also trying to figure out a value on it. For those wondering I paid norinco prices for it.
Wheres that SKS expert guy at I need him!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: I do have the original non detachable mag.

I was cleaning the bolt and firing pin of my ATI Chinese (Frankenstein) SKS because it's been sticky even after cleaning multiple times. I posted about this before so I was trying some new techniques when I noticed the marks on the firing pin retainer and pin itself and the end of the firing pin. Also I can't get the discolouration off even with 0000 steel wool. Did I do something when I accidentally put clp on the pin before firing or is it because no numbers match on my gun and something isn't fitting?
Edit: Thanks for the help. Looks like it's time for a new firing pin, maybe a new retainer pin something about that damage feels suspicious.

I know this is redundant but is this failure to chamber the shitty magazines fault? Every other round wants to slam against the barrel wall and get stuck. is there something more sinister at play here or is it just another case of shitty duckbill

Finally got around to getting all the mounts and adapters put on to suppress this bad girl. Shoots beautifully but super gassy.

Picked up this yugo m59/66 awhile back and noticed it has writing on the stock. Anyone know what it says?

Does anyone know what the dimensions of the Russian Izhevsk Asenal stamp on the stock is? Not the receiver cover, the wood stock (unless they are the same). Circle diameter, height/width of triangle, lenggh of arrow...
I'm looking at a couple of 1953's and 1954's.
The stock markings are a little questionable. I'd like to take my calipers with me and measure to be sure.
If you have a rifle with this stamp, I'd appreciate a quick measurement.
You can send me a pm if you'd like.
Thank you

Picked this up a few days ago. It’s a 1976 Yugo M59/66A1 with almost all numbers matching(only the receiver cover was changed at some point for an aftermarket one with what I’m assuming that had a scope mount). It was imported by Samco when they were still a thing. Ended up paying 750 for it. It has been shot a few times before but everything seems to be in very good shape(the phosphorus night sights still work too). Barrel has no signs of corrosion and there’s still cosmoline in the bolt/firing pin. I have to do a deep clean for cosmoline and normal lubrication before I will bring it to the range but am overall happy with the purchase!
Also, someone at some point decided to put some sort of finish on the wood and now it appears to be wearing off in spots. Any suggestions on what I should use to get the rest off without damaging the wood?

Hello all,
I truly apologize for having posted 3x about the same rifle slam firing. FINALLY, I have figured out exactly the cause and now I am looking for some advice.
First — the cause. My rifle has a bad hammer that causes the hammer to drop as the slide drops. I tested this by dropping the attached mag out of the rifle, so that it dangled in that semi-attached mode that it does once you unhook it and eject it. Then, I slowly eased the slide down, pulled the trigger, *CLICK*. Worked as intended. I did this 10x. Then, I did the same thing but I let the slide drop hard, pulled the trigger, *NOTHING*. It's as though it already fired when the slide went down.
Second — the solution. From what I have gathered, I can either (1) replace the entire trigger group or (2) somehow manage to replace solely the hammer.
My question: Which would you do? How would I go about replacing the hammer? Any good tutorials or videos?
My further question: Would it be ridiculous of me to still install the Murray firing pin even though I have discovered that the firing pin has not been the issue? In other words, is it okay to have it installed even if my firing pin now really isn't a problem?

My SKS has been sitting for a while, and when I pulled it out today to inspect I noticed some rust forming, mostly in the barrel and gas tube.
What's the best way to clean this up?

Greetings, I recently came across a Yugo 59/66 for my Yugo/Serb collection. Rifle is in great shape with a good bore. However it came with a shitstick pro mag that has issues chambering the first round unless you get it just right. Would love to get a factory mag for it, but don't want to drop 100$+ given I dropped 500$ on the rifle. What is the most reliable stop gap mag on the market right now?
