Prospective Student Have a few people who went to SDSU gotten into med school at a t20 uni?

I’m interested in applying here, but I keep hearing that it’s a party school. Since it’s close to home and would be one of my safety schools, I’d seriously consider attending if I could find evidence of students in the pre-med pathway successfully getting into top medical schools.

I know that any college can be what you make of it, and that stereotypes about campus culture don’t necessarily reflect everyone’s experience. Still, I’d really appreciate hearing from students who have firsthand experience with the pre-med program and can speak to how well it prepares students for medical school, especially highly competitive programs. (I'm majoring in public health btw)

Question spring 2027 schedule

Hey all, I'm an aerospace major and a 1st year. I did speak to my advisor but just wanted to get some other opinions as well. Since AE123 isn't a pre-req, is it worth taking next semester or should I just wait until fall 2027? I know it's a cakewalk class, but the other classes I'm taking next semester is ME190, Chem 202, Math 151, and Comms 100. I do need to take Physics 195 as well, but depending on how I go about things, I may or may not take it over the summer. If I take Physics 195 next semester, I'll likely just do the lab in Fall 2027 (unless it's recommended otherwise?). I can also look into other summer classes if something else seems better for the summer, but it was suggested I prioritize Math and Physics since they're pre-reqs. I'm also not sure if I should take ME190 or not since it also isn't a pre-req, but I know they teach you to use solidworks. Some input from people who have taken these classes would help greatly, thanks!
