My friend and I are preparing this upcoming week to get a bunch of things to hand out to runners. Any suggestions are welcomed! Something that's easy to transport by train would be preferred!

I unfortunately had a partial removal of an ingrown nail on my second toe done two days ago. I’m signed up to run NYC in a week and am wondering if I have a shot or if I’m cooked. The podiatrist said I’d be up and running no problem in 2 days but that has been found to not be true

Additional question, for anyone who has run it before, which mile during the marathon did it hit you like “damn I’m actually so tired, don’t know if I can do this”.

For those running the marathon and staying in Staten Island the night before:

1. How easy is it to find an uber to the start line?
   
2. How long before my start time should I plan to arrive? I’m in wave 3, starting at 10:20.

Pretty straight forward I was running the last part of the last 10 around 9:30 and I see a man was screaming for help. I stopped to intervene after realizing that the guy wasn’t in a normal fight and was getting his iPhone stolen. A tinted out black car pulled up, picked up his partner and drove off.

Another runner stopped to check in on him. Luckily the man kept his phone and seemed unharmed.

I think what was the most jarring was that there were tons of people near by and nobody stopped to help a man screaming for help.

Everyone please be careful and look out for one another today.

The Hydration Guy station is ready to serve all the Last 10 runners at Marcus Garvey Park by 121th street Water, Gatorade, Liquid IV are all available. Halloween snacks and other samples are available. Pao Labs are also giving out samples of their energy jellies!

Ok ok too early… still 80/20 this is going to be the weather on Sunday - not hot, but a tad too warm for sure! Ok cloudy.

There seems to be enough room 😂 water stations every 30min. Start at midnight to avoid annoying the commuters.

I’m scheduled for 8 miles, but considering replacing it with an easy 3-4 miles. Trying to reduce the likelihood of an injury since I’ve dealt with some minor knee and quad issues about a month ago. And from what I’ve read, running at this point isn’t really going to affect you at all for race day. (For context: first time marathon, 3:59 goal)

Curious on what others are planning to do!

I am planning to run the marathon in 4hr but I got put into wave 2 that leaves at 9:45am which is 3:30hr finish. I have two questions:
1. I selected bus as pickup to keep it hassle free but wondering if it’s worth going so early and waiting for 3hrs at the village? May be I just take a nap there? Can/should I change to ferry?
2. Can I change my corral start to wave 3 with 4hr pacer? I am currently orange wave 2.

I’m looking for some clarification about deferring. If I had to defer this year due to injury, can I still defer next year for pregnancy?
I canceled already not realizing that it would automatically override the 9+1 I completed this year. My plan has been to do the 9+1 and then defer in 2027 as I plan to get pregnant in the next few months (hopefully). I’m freaking out that I ruined everything by canceling instead of just not running the race. I’m not trying to stack entries or anything i just want to make sure that I’m good for 2028 basically. Thanks :)

I can’t seem to find an answer to this. I ran my best 5K in Jersey City a few weeks ago (27:44) and my best pace on my dashboard says 9:20/mile (EDIT: which is the 10K converted time for the 8:57 pace I achieved in Jersey City). I think this means I should be the slowest runner in H, but my Abbott corral is still J (EDIT: which is the same corral from my previous 10K best pace of 10:16). What am I missing? I was pretty proud about jumping a couple corrals, and this is a bit of a bummer.

Hi! New to all this, this is my first marathon. I know there’s a “last 10 miles” saying - can I actually run the last 10 from the course this weekend? Or not so much. If not, please drop any suggestions for a route that’s decent for the last double digits before race day! Can’t believe it’s so soon💪💪

Did 9+1 then got injured last minute. Do I defer or do nothing (or walk 2 miles for the bridge photo then leave)?
Can I defer both this year’s and next year’s entry?

Hi! I’m coming to NYC to cheer on a friend running the marathon and would love some advice on the best spots to watch along the course!

I’m hoping to see my friend at least 3–4 times, if possible. I’m a runner myself, so I’m totally happy to run between viewing spots rather than take the subway if that makes it easier.

For anyone who’s spectated before, which mile markers or locations would you recommend to make the most of the day and catch as much of the race as possible?

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

So I’m trying to reserve times on NYRR for bib pickup and it seems every slot on every day is taken. Would I still be able to get my bib if I just show up?

I did register late and was told I will get my start time on Oct 23. It’s nearing the end of the day and I haven’t gotten any information. Anyone else that registered late also dealing with this?

Has anyone taken a private car to the marathon start? Looking for tips/advice. Staying in Midtown and weighing all of my options (have ferry scheduled).
