Vote Early! No King among the People.

šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø** ROSEVILLE, CA — NO KINGS PROTEST
šŸ“ **Where:
Galleria Boulevard & Roseville Parkway, Roseville, CA 95678
šŸ—“ļø** When: Saturday, October 17th | 10 AM–12 PM
**EXERCISE YOUR FIRST AMENDMENT. STAND UP FOR THE REPUBLIC.

NO THRONES. NO CROWNS. NO KINGS.
ā€œWe the Peopleā€ is not a slogan. It is the foundation of our constitutional republic. America was born from a rejection of monarchy, inherited power, and the idea that any ruler stands above the law.
The Declaration of Independence declared that government derives its legitimate powers from the consent of the governed. The Constitution begins with three words that still define our responsibility as Americans: We the People.
No president is a king. No political party is above accountability. No elected official has the authority to silence dissent, disregard constitutional limits, or place personal loyalty above the rule of law.
We have serious reasons to stand together:
āš–ļø** DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION. Protect freedom of speech, a free press, due process, and the right to peacefully assemble. These freedoms belong to all Americans—not just those who agree with the administration in power.
šŸ—³ļø
PROTECT OUR DEMOCRACY. Reject political intimidation, attacks on election integrity, and attempts to undermine the peaceful transfer of power. Our votes—not the ambitions of any individual—determine our leadership.
šŸ›”ļø
HOLD POWER ACCOUNTABLE. Demand transparency, lawful government, and accountability for abuses of authority. The rule of law means applying the same standards to our allies and our opponents.
šŸ¤ **STAND WITH OUR COMMUNITIES.
Challenge the targeting of immigrant families, discrimination, and abuses of power. Defend the dignity and civil rights of our neighbors, regardless of their background or beliefs.
šŸ’µ FIGHT FOR WORKING FAMILIES. Demand policies that address the cost of housing, healthcare, groceries, and raising children—not a government that asks ordinary Americans to bear the burden while the powerful escape accountability.
šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø** HONOR THE OATH. Our service members, veterans, and public servants swear an oath to the Constitution—not to a president, a party, or a political movement. That distinction matters now as much as ever.
This is bigger than partisan politics. It is about the kind of country we leave our children.
From the American Revolution to the abolitionist movement, from the civil rights marches across Selma to generations of Americans who stood against authoritarianism, our history reminds us that progress requires people willing to stand up when silence becomes easier.
We do not need a king. We need leaders who understand that public office is a public trust.
**When power goes unchecked, accountability becomes our responsibility. When our rights are threatened, participation becomes our duty. When democracy is tested, silence is not the only option.

On March 28, join your neighbors in Roseville. Bring your family, your signs, your American flag, and your commitment to a better future.
We are not waiting for someone else to defend our democracy. We are showing up to do it ourselves.
NO THRONES. NO CROWNS. NO KINGS.
WE THE PEOPLE. ALWAYS.
✊ PEACEFUL. LAWFUL. UNITED.
No Kings is committed to nonviolent action. Respect others, de-escalate confrontations, follow the law, and do not bring weapons—including legally permitted weapons—to the event. Our strength is our solidarity, our discipline, and our commitment to the democratic principles we are defending.

Young adult trying to find a first job before starting school - could use some help

Hey everyone, I figured I'd try posting here because I'm honestly having a pretty hard time finding my first job.

I'm a young adult from the Newcastle area, hoping to start college soon, and I'm trying to save up some money for the spring term. I've been applying to jobs, reaching out to people, contacting temp agencies, and even getting a few interviews, but nothing has really worked out so far.

Honestly, the biggest obstacle seems to be my lack of professional work experience. I understand employers want experience, but it's difficult to get that experience when you're just trying to get your foot in the door in the first place. It's been pretty discouraging putting in the effort and still not getting anywhere.

My college has Handshake for student job opportunities, but that's more useful once I'm actually enrolled and taking classes. I'm trying to find something before then so I can build up some savings ahead of the spring term.

I'm open to full-time or part-time entry-level work, especially customer service, office work, or anything where I can learn on the job and get some experience.

I wanted to ask if anyone here might be able to directly help me get my foot in the door somewhere, whether through an employee referral, a company they know is hiring, or a connection who'd be willing to give someone new a chance. I really am willing to learn and put in the work. I think having someone point me toward an actual opportunity would help a lot more than just sending out applications into the void.

I know everyone's dealing with their own stuff, but if anyone has a lead or could help in some way, I'd genuinely appreciate it. Thanks for reading.

Caregivers

My mom is being released from the hospital and will need a short term caregiver. They're providing 4 hours of day help but we need something for at least a couple hours at night as she's still unable to toilet normally and we don't have the physicality to change, clean, dress her and get her ready for bed, change bedding if needed, etc.

We're hoping she'll get back to her baseline soon and be more self sufficient, but in the meantime she's rolling over and sitting up with assistance.

She weighs 270 so we need someone strong.Shes also very prideful so someone who is compassionate and patient.

Due to her condition, sanitizing and proper hygiene, and preventative measures are extremely important.

Is there an affordable agency you can recommend?

She doesn't qualify for IHSS and did the expenses have been very high with everything, so while we know the fair pay ranges we're hoping for the lower side of it.

Mostly we want someone who is kind, competent and a good communicator.

Thanks for your help!

Does this tower have a story?

I couldn't think of a better title for this post, but curiosity is really getting to me right now.

I've lived in Roseville my entire life (27 years), and growing up, this tower on Washington Blvd has quite literally towered over the entire town (it doesn't matter where at in Roseville you are, you can see this thing). I've always wondered: who owns it, how long has it been here, what kind of radio/communication/satellite signals are passing through it, why is it so massive, etc etc, but it was always a curiosity that sat in the back of my mind (until tonight, for some reason).

I tried scouring Google, and this sub, but found absolutely nothing about this particular tower. And was wondering if anybody here actually knows anything about it

Customer Feedback – Costco Tire Center, Folsom and Roseville Locations

I purchased tires from Costco on June 28, 2025. On September 15, 2026, I visited the Costco Tire Center for a nail repair on the front driver-side tire. The same location also serviced my tires on September 24, 2026. During neither of these visits did the tire center representatives inform me of any uneven tire wear or the need for wheel alignment.

On Sunday, October 11, 2026, I visited the Costco Folsom Tire Center to repair another flat tire. I was informed that one nail could be removed, but another nail was located in a position that required tire replacement.

Since the tires were still under warranty, I was told that a refund could be issued. I requested that replacement tires be ordered and delivered to the Roseville Baseline Costco location. However, I was told that the Folsom location could not place an order for another Costco location and that I would need to order the tires online for delivery.

On Friday, October 16, 2026, I visited the Costco Roseville Baseline Tire Center to have the replacement tires installed. To my surprise, I was informed that the warranty could not be honored because a previous service request contained a note about uneven tire wear and the need for wheel alignment.

I was not aware of this note, and the tire center representative had not mentioned this concern during my previous visits on September 15, September 24, or October 11, 2026. Given that the same tire center had serviced my vehicle multiple times, I find it particularly concerning that this issue was never brought to my attention until it was used as a reason to deny my warranty claim.

I subsequently spoke with two levels of management at the Roseville Baseline location. Both managers stated that the information was documented in the service notes and argued that, according to their policy, it had been communicated to me. However, neither manager could confirm whether the issue had actually been explained to me verbally or clarify whether verbal communication was required under Costco's policy.

I acknowledged that I could have reviewed the service notes more carefully. However, I believe the tire center also has a responsibility to clearly communicate important findings that could affect warranty eligibility. Simply documenting an issue in the system does not necessarily ensure that the customer has been informed or understands its implications. The managers were unable to confirm whether this information had actually been communicated to me, yet they relied on the existence of the note to justify the warranty denial.

The most disappointing part of this experience was being told to drive approximately 25 miles back to the Folsom Costco, with a nail-damaged tire, to have the warranty processed there. The Roseville Baseline location was unwilling to honor the guidance provided by the Folsom location on October 11, 2026. Asking a customer to travel that distance with a potentially unsafe tire, rather than coordinating internally between two Costco locations, is unreasonable and raises serious safety concerns.

The managers did not acknowledge any shortcomings in the communication process or commit to any specific process improvements. Instead, the discussion remained focused on the existence of the service notes and the assumption that the information had been communicated to me.

Costco has built a strong reputation for customer service and a hassle-free return policy, which is one of the reasons customers trust and choose Costco. Unfortunately, this experience with the Roseville Baseline Tire Center fell significantly short of those expectations.

My concern is not simply about the warranty decision. It is about communication, consistency, accountability, and customer safety. I visited the Costco Tire Center multiple times, including the same location on September 15 and September 24, without being informed of the alleged alignment issue. I was then denied warranty coverage based on a note I had not been made aware of and was instructed to travel approximately 25 miles to another location with a damaged tire to resolve the matter.

Customers should not be expected to discover important service information on their own, receive conflicting guidance from different Costco locations, or bear the burden of resolving internal inconsistencies between locations.

Edit:
I replaced both rear tires today. The supervisor told me they could rotate the tires at my next visit, but today’s notes say they cannot. The information is inconsistent.

Reminders for which side of the road to ride on

Hi all, this is a friendly reminder to talk to your kiddos on bikes, scooters, etc. who are riding in the bike lane or sidewalk on the road. Please make sure they understand that they have to be on the side of the road going with traffic. When they're on the wrong side of the road, this increases the likelihood of an accident. I don't want to see any more kids involved in these accidents.

Recommendations for where to get a Toyota sienna maintained?

Hello šŸ‘‹, anyone know of good shops to get routine maintenance done for a Toyota Sienna or Toyotas in general?

I'm seeing Roseville Toyota is not popular here to say the least, but wondering if others have had better luck at other Toyota dealerships or if there are good independent shops people have had good experiences with.

Thanks very much for any info! šŸ˜Ž

Saw a lot of discussion on here yesterday about Measure A in Roseville. Measure A has been quite controversial and gotten a good deal of attention right before the election.

Gold Mountain covered the story, ballot fight, and some of the key figures here. Go check it out.
