10s Beyoncé — 7/11 (2014) | still the best zero-budget music video of the 2010s?
video shot mostly on a GoPro and an iPhone inside a hotel suite with her dancers, this video basically predicted the entire TikTok DIY promo era six years early.
when the BEYONCÉ plat edition dropped in late 2014, this track got debate from R&B purists who wanted more trad-style vocals, with her kinda-moody ST album... while plenty of us had it on loop at the house party. twelve years later: do y'all think 7/11 holds up as a classic turn-up record, or are you skipping it for album cuts like Partition and Drunk in Love?
(audio: lightly remastered to bypass reddit's AAC compression mud—tightened mono sub-bass and filtered extremes so the 808s actually punch through it)

PERFORMANCE 🎤 Kanye West, Jamie Foxx, and Twista performing “Slow Jamz”on BET back in the early 2000’s
The Jamie Foxx intro is too good! Honestly my favorite R&B/Hip Hop collab song ever.

DISCUSSION 💭 What’s a successful song by one of your faves that you never need to hear again?
For me it’s “Together Again” by Queen Mother Janet.
It’s cute, it’s fine. It bops. And I recognize and appreciate the message behind it. But…yeah, I wouldn’t miss it.

60s Aretha Franklin - Good to Me as I Am to You • [One of her GREATEST songs vocally 🗣️‼️]
I believe that this should have won “Best Female R&B Vocal Performance” in 1969 instead of “Chain of Fools” … or at least this entire album, because from this same album, “People Get Ready”, “Niki Hoeky”, “Ain’t No Way”, “Come Back Baby”, “Money Won’t Change You”, and “(Sweet Sweet Baby) Since You’ve Been Gone” are also no joke.
I just think that “Good to Me as I Am to You” stands out immensely and deserves more recognition as one of Aretha’s best overall vocal performances. She has other great songs from a vocal standpoint, but this song smokes a lot of them. Very few of them can compete with what I’m sharing here.
Aretha released two of her greatest albums vocally in 1968: Lady Soul (this one) and Aretha Now. Not counting the live album from Paris, these were the only two albums she released that year. I would say that Lady Soul is her best album vocally, with this song having a huge advantage over other selections.

DISCUSSION 💭 Where does B'Day rank in Beyoncé's discography for you?
Been revisiting B'Day lately and I think it's criminally underrated compared to her other albums. Where do you have it ranked, and what's the one song from it you think more people need to hear that best represents the project?

00s Asia Cruise • Tears (2008)
"Tears" was never officially released as an official commercial single or on an active album. The track leaked or circulated online as an unreleased demo/track around 2008–2009 during the era she was signed to Jive Records.
Her debut single was "Selfish" in 2008, and her anticipated debut studio album (Who Is Asia Cruise?) was ultimately shelved by the label, leaving "Tears" as an unreleased/bootleg track popular among fans on video and audio-sharing platforms rather than an official release.
Her leaked album is online, too: https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLoeCT-uXIQ9AcV_PpSd_q4J1JuolDEPqJ&si=mBw9fP17S_yWVafy
