Platfight Gaming Championships is an esports event uniting the platform fighter community under one competitive roof, fostering connection between scenes. It enters as a R2CS silver tier, being of national status!
Entering as the clear favorite, Sandstorm has been putting up a storm, and even amid Galvan nerfs he is easily the one who is most favored to win here. In his best streak ever, he’s putting up a real challenge to be ranked #1, and this event would add to his ever growing list. Don’t get it twisted though, this bracket is no easy feat, with the talent running quite a bit deeper. Sophilo has been one of the most consistent players to touch the game, as well as being the biggest threat to Sandstorm. With Sophilo being up on the h2h 4-3, as well as winning the last two, this could be her biggest win since CEO 2025! Rongunshu’s run at Get on my Level 2026 ended at the hands of Sandstorm on route to his first ever major win. This is Rongunshu’s opportunity to take revenge not only against Sandstorm, but avenge his loss on his home turf. With these being the top 10 players attending, they are the ones most favored by everyone. However, everyone also likes a dark horse story!
darai and Godly are the two rising Rannos: darai coming off of his top 8 at EVO and stellar performances since, and Godly coming over with a dominant 3-0 over CakeAssault. With the two of them proving that they are capable of runs beyond expectation, then whose to say a win here isn’t possible? Speaking of possible, Mystery Sol has been wracking up great wins over the past couple months such as Stango and Beastly, yet hasn’t had a massive run in quite some time. Even with the Galvan nerfs, he was still able to beat Stango this last weekend, so what’s one more big upset?
Other players I want to highlight: Sawstep, Salt, maya, DolphinBrick, Nurse, Bullets, Re:Cupid, and Bowler.

Hello everyone,
WFT x Bayonetta with "The Spot"-like animations published : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3815271416 (will edit if I can't share links)
Normals, Nspecial and most sounds are from Wii Fit Trainer (DAir is inspired from Diddy Kong), Strongs are from Bayonetta and FSpecial and USpecial are custom (animating is hard man...)
Been loving the game so much I learnt how to use the editor and LUA (quite simple things first: humanoid model and already existing animations). I think I couldn't have learnt all that without AI with my current job on the side, so I think AI is really good for that.
Please tell me if you'd make any changes ! And thanks to both devs and the community doing such a good job, Workshop is already amazing and helps me bring more people to play the game !

I'm new to the game and I last played a platform fighter about 10 years ago in college. I know I'm pretty rusty but I put many hours into melee and brawl, I at least somewhat know what I'm doing and am comfortable with a controller. Being brand new to the game I lost all my placement matches, naturally. Lol. But my issue is that after that I am still being matched with people higher than my rank. I have yet to win a single online match. I have yet to be placed against a single person in my actual rank. What the hell, how am I the single worst player online and there is not a single person at my skill level to fight me? Very discouraging from online play to just get stomped repeatedly. I've put 10 hours into the game (a lot being bot versus matches to learn what the characters do) which is not a lot but also pretty gruelling to have spent 10 hours without a fair match. Is this game just super noob unfriendly?

So this has been bugging me for a bit now, but what is the justification for Orcahop putting you into freefall if you no longer maintain puddle? I understand it with still having access to puddle , that would allow for too much mix up, but now it’s an extremely committal option with no hitbox so it seems odd that it isn’t actionable. It would be like if Etalus couldn’t attack out of his up special and was just at the mercy of his opponent being bad, but even worse because this uses up your jump, and now your puddle, you are just hoping to be able grab ledge or land on stage without being hit off again. Seems odd to me.

Snakebush (Hemiandra pungens) is a low-growing native Australian evergreen shrub. It is widely used as a ground cover in dry and coastal gardens.

I've been trying to gift a store item to a friend but it keeps showing this message. My friend does not own the skin or the emote i tried gifting, i have enough coins and its the same in the 'featured' store and in the 'coin' store. I tried the obvious options, rebooting stuff, updating steam etc... Nothing seems to help :/ Any ideas ? Is it a known bug or am I just unlucky ?

So, I’ve been playing doubles a lot. I just played probably 30 matches in a row with someone. All of the sudden, when I go to play now, it kicked me from the room and gives the message of “You forfeited the match - you received the loss and your rank has been updated.” It always happens during the character select screen; when we are all ready’d up.
Anyone else experienced this lately?

Hi! I was doing some testing with the game's rollback under various conditions and thought I'd make a post on what's needed for a good online experience.
To maintain a solid 2 frame connection without fluctuations in the rollback, you need your ping's jitter to be below 5ms. For server based connections like in normal matchmaking this is easier to achieve as the server basically acts as an ideal host with fiber internet. Jitter is the main thing that matters, don't judge someone's ping based on their internet speed.
The peer2peer connection for workshop is at the mercy of both people's ping jitter and most people have bad jitter. It's just a fact of our internet infrastructure. The most common advice for people struggling with their ping stability is to get an ethernet cable but unfortunately for most people the native instability of their ping would make it have no difference unless there is some interference you're dealing with over wifi. The number one thing you can do is run ping tests and see if you can get that jitter below 5ms, with an ethernet cable or other measures.
For example, here's my ping tests on wifi under ideal conditions:

For me the difference between wired and unwired is only 0.2ms of jitter because I'm on fiber and right next to my router. Always use ethernet when you can because wifi is subjected to interference but be sure of where your ping instability is truly coming from. On non fiber pretty much any source of internet usage will make your ping unstable, on fiber there's a lot more utilization it can handle without effecting the ping. The download/upload requirements to just play online may doom many people's jitter to instability right away so I recommend running tests while playing with someone in game.
The fact of the matter is that on non fiber internet, you can be expected to have anywhere between 5-20ms of jitter even on ethernet. If you have the provider Spectrum, you can expect your jitter to be uncontrollable with their habit of sharing bandwidth with the neighborhood. Back when I had rural internet I managed 1ms jitter by waiting until 3am and disconnecting every device. Most people will simply not be able to maintain 2 frames of rollback regardless of the distance.
Here's the tests you can run for yourself:
https://www.meter.net/ping-test/
https://packetlosstest.com/
Is it crazy to need 5ms jitter and below for a smooth experience without micro or macro teleports? Yeah
Here's a list of games who's rollback can handle the typical ping range of 5-20ms jitter without any noticeable artifacts (since that's what rollback was designed to do):
Melee, Nick 2, Rushdown Revolt, A Few Quick Matches, Slap City, Flash Party, Brawlhalla, Smash 64 (and any n64 game), any game made with "Platform Fighter Engine", and now any gamecube/wii game so throw Project M and Shrek SuperSlam in there. We'll probably have Smash Ultimate with better rollback than Rivals 2 soon. They also all run smoothly on far weaker systems with their less intensive game engines. It's not impossible to make a game that looks as good as Rivals 2 with all the same features on an engine that can run on potatoes. Fighting games should be runnable on potatoes.
Now let's talk about the hardware requirements. To get an experience that gets close to the playing conditions of Melee, you'll need to be running Rivals 2 at 120fps+. This means at minimum a RTX 2080 super, unreal 5 is a performance spiky engine so you need a bit more overhead than just maintaining capped fps most of the time. Rollback also increases performance demand so even with a 2080 super, you'll likely need to cut quite a bit of settings if you want to make sure you maintain fps enough to avoid rollback spikes. The potato mod helps a ton if your limiting factor is your graphics card. Rollback is pretty CPU intensive though.
With my i9-11900k and rtx 3080, I still play with my settings lowered as far as they can go and potato mod at 120fps. That is simply what's needed to come close to the smoothness and 1:1 feel of other games.
So to recap: If your goal is to play with good conditions online, you're looking at a somewhat beefy PC with fiber as a requirement unless you can really minimize your internet usage enough to get that jitter down on non fiber. If you want to use the peer2peer connection for workshop, you need a friend who also has fiber and a somewhat beefy PC unless you want one side to be miserable. If I were to guess why the demands of a smooth experience are so much greater than other games it's probably the intensive engine? I know unreal 5 has useful dev tools but man, I've never played an unreal 5 game with good rollback.
So yeah, most people can't have a smooth experience online.

The erhu traditionally uses python skin stretched tightly across its soundbox to act as a natural speaker and produce its signature resonant, singing timbre.
Got to stop with these breaks 😮💨 Feel like I'm turning into CoryxKenshin.

Just doing some brainstorming. Feedback is appreciated and encouraged.
The biggest difference is the much more squat player cards, with a size resembling the post-game screen version. From what I can tell the same premade renders are used for both sizes so it shouldn't take a *ton* of tweaking to repurpose the smaller ones, although the post-game ones do have some clipping of the portraits outside the top borders which may need to be adjusted. Some menu changes will need to be made, but that's a tradeoff I feel is worth it for what those smaller player cards will let you do.
The "player card" space that takes up the bottom half of the screen dynamically changes based on your needs. Online it is used for Chat and Lobby info, and for locals it adapts to the number of players. For the player card spots for players 5-8, each one not currently used will be hidden and replaced with 6 Workshop Favorites slots a piece.
The giant bar that does nothing but tell you when all the players are ready but takes up 20% of the screen is removed and can be replaced with a graphic over the main selection area when everyone is ready to go.
Up top, I think if we make it to 34 characters we can all be happy with it. 2 rows per elements make things feel less cramped than stacking them all next to each other horizontally.
As a random select connoisseur I would like some added Random options for Workshop. If Workshop characters are not available in the current mode this can just be fused into one giant button.

Trying to at least play once a week even when life get’s busy and thought this whole thing was funny
After watching I desperately need to start wavedashing out of sheild and edgeguarding from ledge. If you haven’t played in a bit, hop on!
Edit: title typo adds to the dumbassery

Bit of a longer clip, but I felt like it wouldn't have the same effect if it started at the last stock.
