Hi All, I was wondering if anyone could help me please or maybe had a similar problem. I brought the ring intercom and hooked it up to my Fermax VDS System in my building. It's great, I can talk to people downstairs, open the lobby door however the signal to allow someone to press my floor without needing a fob in the elevator is not working so they can't use the elevator.
The current configuration is wires connecting to -, R and + and that's the only wires going into the intercom.
In addition to this there's a random black wire running up and wrapped around the contact where the key button strikes on my intercom that you press. I'm thinking this might be a wire to unlock the elevator? It seems like a really poor install if I'm honest by fermax.
Is there anywhere I can attach that black wire on the ring intercom to get it to enable the elevator? (If that's even what is it).
Any help would be appreciated. Happy to donate to your favourite charity or something for assistance :)
Cheers

I’ve got three ring systems and dozens of devices. This has been a low week:
I want to get more flood/freeze sensors, but apparently I cannot do so without signing up to help Amazon build its Sidewalk network. Like, literally you decided to remove my ability to just connect to my own WiFi without agreeing to participate in a mesh network with a bunch of strangers?!
Just bought a new rack of door sensors. Somehow though buying full price third generation would be better than the discounted second generation. The only appreciable difference I’ve seen so far: each and every device requires a two minute software upgrade before I can get it up and running.
My ring spotlight cam plus on stopped working. Batteries or ac don't work. It's completely dead. It was outside. I have 2. One works and one is dead.
So I got 2k ring outdoor cam plus 2pack at bestbuy for 110 with tax. 55 each not bad.
But those also say weather resistant not proof. So same thing might happen again.
So I saw on Amazon some done like things that cover the camera and keep the rain out and have a mounting screw for the camera for 22 bucks. But 22 each is a lot.
So I got creative with a cereal bowl from target for 50 cents turned upside down. I can still see a tiny bit of the bowl.
So I might have to mount it to the tree instead somehow. Not sure how though. Or trim the bowl.
How does this look?

I recently got a TCL 60 Xe Nxtpaper 5g and I am having an audio issue regarding live view while using Bluetooth earbuds (tozo open rings). Whenever I live view or try to speak to someone, the audio comes through my phone speaker and not through the headset. Audio from recordings play through the earbuds however when I switch to live view it goes back to the phone speakers.
It’s very frustrating as I use live view while at work when needed. I don't have this problem on my older Samsung phone (A71 5g) as I can talk and listen through Bluetooth during live view just fine. I've googled the problem, tried different permission options, and AI fix suggestions but no luck so far. It seems to be a phone specific problem from what I can see.
Is there some way to make the app default to Bluetooth during live view?

This afternoon I was looking back at my recordings on my indoor ring cam to see if my dog weed on the sofa when I wasn’t in the room and I saw a bunch of LIVE orange recordings that wasn’t me or my husband! Really concerned me that someone else is watching us on our indoor cam! I checked authorised users on the app and it did have web access on there which is none of us! We removed it but I’m scared we’ve been hacked. We have both changed our passwords on Ring but just wondered if anyone else has had this and what did you do about it? Do I report it to Ring?

I’m trying to get my Ring Alarm sounds to play on my connected Echo devices. I’ve set everything up per the support instructions, and when I open my home alarm on the Alexa app, this is the message: “Security Sounds on Echo Not Reachable”. When I click on that selection, it opens a new page that says “Ring is unreachable. Please try again later.” See the attached screenshots. This has been happening for around a week now.
I’ve done multiple hours-long support sessions with both Ring and Amazon, with no success.
These are some of the troubleshooting steps I’ve taken, all of them at least three times:
-reset network (router & modem)
-reset Ring Alarm Bridge
-reset Echo devices
-update apps and device firmware (all are up to date)
-delete and reinstall Ring and Alexa phone apps
-disable the Ring Skill on the Alexa app, delete all Ring devices from Alexa, then re-add the skill
-unlink my Amazon account from Ring, then relink
-try Ring and Alexa apps using wifi and cellular data
-try Alexa on a different device
The last time I spoke with Ring they suggested that I set up an Alexa routine to make my Echo devices sound off whenever the alarm triggers, but in Alexa you can only have it launch the routine when the state changes (home, away, disarm) but not when the alarm is triggered.
Has anyone else been able to fix this issue? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Having had my indoor cameras for months, no issues ever with false notifications, but one night as im working overnight i get my living room notification of a new face, “heart sank that im getting robbed” but when i reviewed the footage, nothing. Maybe a loud noise caused it but i didnt hear anything, anyone have something similar?

Yesterday there were about a dozen live views on each of the 6 indoor cameras around my house. Neither my wife nor I viewed them live. Each viewing is exactly 1 minute.
Is this some kind of glitch or is this some random hacking that picked me for some unknown reason?

Why is the Ring software so bad? So many obvious design flaws that they have to be aware of them. One pet peeve of mine is that when I go work in my backyard I have to individually disable the alerts that cover the garage, patio and yard. Why is there no way to at least group them together so I can manage them all at once? But the even more obvious question is why doesn’t it use facial recognition so I don’t have to get alerted every time I step out of my house? That technology has been around for years and Ring’s failure to implement it is crazy. Though I’m sure when they finally do get around to implementing it they’ll add additional charges like they’re trying to do with their crappy AI descriptions now.
If you’re going to try to charge me, at least make it work well. My Front Door and Back Patio doors both alert me that someone is at the front door whenever they’re opened. Why is AI not able to distinguish between the two different views from two different cameras? And the random dogs and (mostly) cats that wander around the neighborhood are often misidentified so we get alerts for a dog on the back patio when it’s actually the stray cat my wife regularly feeds. The funniest one was having my morning coffee sitting here in my house in the city when I got an alert that there was a bear on my back patio. Turned out to be a black cat sitting up on the wall of our gate right outside the back door. Had to share that one with the family. 😊
I could go on about their lame software but I’m new to this sub and I’m sure they’ve been covered before. I’m definitely not paying more for the AI descriptions because they’re not particularly helpful or accurate, but also because they keep trying to charge extra for things that should have been implemented to improve their software years ago. I understand that they’re the market leader in home security cameras, but their software is clunky, weak and not very user friendly.

I have had a Doorbell Camera installed at my home for about four years. It has a wired doorbell. We added a security system as well including door/window sensors and water sensors.
I recently signed a lease on an office space for my business. Bought and installed a similar security system for the office and then bought a Doorbell Camera for said office. When the Office doorbell camera rings, it rings the doorbell at home. I have tried deleting both Doorbell Cameras from the home and office locations. I have tried buying a plug-in chime for the office location. Nothing has worked as of yet. I’m convinced it’s a setting of some sort but I can’t find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can’t use the office doorbell because it’s installed in a public facing area and could be rang at any point of the day or night.

For the last three days, I’ve turned off smart alerts and every morning, it has turned back on. Only on my outdoor cameras though which I find odd.
Is anybody else dealing with this bug?
I had been using a Ring Video Battery Doorbell 2 since 2019. Last week I replaced it with the new 2026 model Ring Battery Doorbell 2K Plus as it was on sale for Prime Days.
My main issue with it is the poor audio quality. When doing a Live video and pressing the icon for the Sound, there isn't much that comes through the phoesi speakers (turned all the way up). But then when I go back and watch the same video (or download it) the audio sounds really bad.
This video from yesterday you can hear all this "jumbled" sound. It's like if a strong wind was hitting a mic, but there is no wind and my house is pretty buffered. My older unit from 2019 wasn't like this. I don't know if this is considered normal on the new models or if this is a problem/defect.
I've done a few tests overnight, early AM, middle of the day and they are all like this.
I am connected to 5Ghz on my router and it shows the connection speed is 112Mbps to the doorbell.
Hi I'm a new Ring camera user who decided to buy a pet cam to watch my cats. The camera is in the cat room which basically just has their litter boxes. Well I noticed every so often when it goes off it shows a package notification? So I'm wondering if it knows that my cats are leaving me a "special" package. Any way to change this?
I have the older battery doorbell pro, with the wider shorter batteries. The battery cover just pops right off, I don’t use the screw. I pop a new battery in, pop it back on. Done. Now with the new ones, what’s this dumb orange tool that I need? I can’t pop the battery out without it? And when I finally lose this little dumb tool? This is the dumbest engineering I’ve ever seen. Any hacks so I don’t need to use this tool every time?
TL:DR - make a battery door that doesn’t need a “tool” or make a little button that’s easy to push that stays on the little cover.

So we are leaving the ring equipment there. I just went through two door bells and two flood light cameras and deleted all video event histories.
Under device settings/ general settings there is a 'remove device'.
If I do that for all devices , is that all I need to do?
The new owner should then just be able to move in and set up their wifi, scan the device or add it to their network?
Basically 'remove device' unlocks it and leaves it ready for whoever?

Do you get a notification to your phone from the ring app if the doorbell loses its internet connection??

I have the Ring doorbell that is not wired in. I take it off and charge it when it needs it.
For some reason, it is not ringing inside anymore. It rings outside, but I cannot hear it inside. Before I got the better model after Christmas it rang on my Samsung cell phone.
I have gone through so many settings, but cannot figure it out!
Will someone please help figure out how to make my rechargeable RING doorbell work inside again?

We moved and left our older devices installed at the old house. We deactivated them but they still appear in the app and on our dashboard. How do we get those off?

First time user. Bought a 2nd gen Battery Doorbell 2K Plus a few days ago.
Ring Alerts, Motion Detection, and Motion Alerts enabled. The camera is connected to the prior old-school doorbell's wiring and shows 100% battery with the Power Source listed as Plugged In. Motion Sensitivity and Package Sensitivity are at Max. Motion Zones are set up for both packages and regular motion. Smart Alerts are on for Person, Vehicle, Package, and Other Motion, with "record and send alerts" set for everything.
Somehow, multiple vehicles have driven past my house without alerting today, and a FedEx delivery guy dropped off a large 20 lb package at our front door that wasn't caught. I don't think there's any settings I could have dialed up further than where they're at now.
Anyone have any ideas about things I could try to troubleshoot here? Maybe resetting zones, rebooting the device, something along those lines?
