PC Rhythm Game Amplitude (PC Port)
Amplitude (2003) by Harmonix for the PlayStation 2 is arguably one of the best rhythm games to ever hit the market. But the original game has been trapped on the PS2 for ages. Emulation has been the only other way to play the game other than original hardware, but input lag creates a less-than-desirable experience.
Enter PROJECT AMP.
Thanks to the PS2Recomp project by Ranieri (ran-j), a native PC Port (static recompilation) has been born. There's nothing quite like blasting through gems on an old CRT TV, lag-free. Now with PROJECT AMP, you can experience it again in 4K 60p Widescreen, LAG-FREE.
Amplitude is a cult classic, and if you've never played it, you don't know what you're missing. Major gaming outlets have raved about it, but the game undersold worldwide. Now, in 2026 and beyond, this game can have a bright future. No big plastic guitars required. Just you and a controller.
FEATURES:
Play adrenaline-pumping ONLINE matches against other players around the world via PSRewired, built right into the game
Boot from a real Amplitude (PS2) disc (Take that Sony) or ISO (Results may vary based on DVD drive read speeds)
Widescreen and Ultra Widescreen support
Up to 8x native resolution
Import saves from real PS2 or PCSX2 virtual memory cards
Built-in cheat menu
Boot to Start Screen (Skips the intro loading screens and video)
Low latency and accurate timing
Other improvements to enhance the user's experience
COMING SOON:
Custom Song Tool - Easily bring your own custom music into the game and play through each track. Share your music with the world and allow people to compete to complete your song online.
Contrast Reduction Filter (for photosensitive users)
More improvements to enhance the user's experience

Mobile Rhythm Game I made a rhythm trainer that scores every tap to the millisecond, including 7/8 and 9/8. Looking for feedback from rhythm gamers
Hey all,
I'm a solo app developer, and I built this because most metronome apps only tell you where the beat is, never how far off you were. I wanted something that felt like a rhythm game but trained real timing, so I made Rhythm Trainer.
How it plays:
- Pick a tempo (40–240 BPM), wait for the count-in, tap along
- Every tap is judged PERFECT / GREAT / GOOD / OKAY with its exact offset in ms
- A live timeline shows if you're rushing or dragging
- Accuracy %, letter grade (A+ to F), combo streaks, best record per pattern and tempo
- Patterns: 4/4, 3/4 waltz, syncopated shuffle, poly-beat, gallop run
- Pro adds odd meters: 5/4, 7/4, 5/8, 6/8, 7/8 and Balkan 9/8 (these are brutal in a fun way)
- Shadow challenges: share your run as a code, your friend plays against your "ghost" on the same timeline
Timing uses the audio clock and measures speaker delay automatically. There's also a quick calibration for Bluetooth headphones so you don't get judged late for your earbuds.
It's free with ads. Pro (monthly, yearly or one-time lifetime) unlocks the odd meters and full stats, and removes ads. Android only for now.
Since you all have way better timing than the average person, I'd love to hear:
- Do the judgement windows feel fair, or too strict / too loose at high BPM?
- Would you want harder modes (e.g. hidden beats, speed-up runs)?
- Does the shadow challenge sound fun or pointless?
I'll reply to every comment. Thanks for having a look!

PC Rhythm Game New update: upload a song and dance it together with friends
New in this update:
- Bring your own music to multiplayer: the room host picks an MP3, everyone hears it and plays the same arrows live (2–6 players)
- The dance follows your song: chill moves in quiet parts, big moves when the chorus drops
- Breaking moves look natural: dancers drop to the floor and get back up instead of snapping into a handstand
- Switching tabs pauses your song instead of kicking you out
- Russian added (10 languages)
Play free in your browser: https://beatora.net
Grab your friends, drop in your favorite song and dance together! 🎶

Recommendations Game recommendations similar to my favorites?
I would definitely call myself a rhythm game tourist/casual more than a hardcore player, but I'm curious to know what I might be missing out on. I'm down for arcade or Steam, but here's what I've mainly played:
- unbeatable
- vivid/stasis
- Dance Rush Stardom
- Rhythm Doctor
I've tried ADOFAI and maimai and I wasn't really feeling either of them. I didn't feel compelled to figure out how to read ADOFAI, and maimai just felt a little too stupid to be playing in public (though I may come back to it). I'm looking for anything like these or stand out games that I just haven't tried. Although vivid/stasis is listed here, I'm looking for something a little bit more interesting than a run of the mill 4-key scroller, but not too interesting where I'm pressing buttons on a washing machine.

Mobile Rhythm Game I made a boxing rhythm game you play with your phone's camera: straights, hooks, uppercuts and squats on the beat, no VR or controllers
Prop your phone up, step back about 2 m (6 ft), and box along with a coach who leads each move. The camera tracks your punches and squats, and every note is judged Perfect / Good / Miss against the music.
About latency: camera tracking always runs a little behind, so the game works out when your punch actually landed and judges that moment, not the moment the camera finished recognizing it.
- Free, runs in the browser, no account
- Made for phones (a laptop webcam works too, but phones are smoother for now)
- Your camera video stays on your device
It's an early version and the song list is still short: https://web-production-1317c.up.railway.app/?src=reddit-rhythmgames
If the camera doesn't start inside the Reddit app, open the link in Safari or Chrome.

Console Rhythm Game Tried making a "Boss Stage" piano track for my mobile rhythm game. Does this look fun or just straight up unfair?
What's up r/rhythmgames,
I’m developing [ Lovera ]. While it has a casual anime romance storyline, I really wanted to make sure the rhythm mechanics don't feel like a cheap mini-game.
I just mapped this classical remix for the late-game stage. It requires some fast index-finger alternating and synchronized holds that follow the actual piano melody quite strictly.
Since I've played it a thousand times during dev, I can't judge the difficulty objectively anymore. Do you think this chart has a good flow? I'm trying to fine-tune the note registration and latency before the next update.
You can search [Lovera ] on the App Store/Play Store if you want to test the timing windows yourself. Let me know if it feels clunky or smooth!

PC Rhythm Game Is this good?
I've been playing osu mania for about 1 week in total. Is this good for a beginner? What do you suggest I should do next?

Question Why are SDVX songs so fast?
I'm serious. It's like they heard one Xi song and said "let's do that but worse, and then let's turn it into our whole soundtrack!" I know it's not the only rhythm game guilty of this but it's got to be the worst offender, right? The median BPM has to be like 240, man

PC Rhythm Game Custom charting for RhythmStrike has released!
RhythmStrike is a free-to-play PC rhythm game controlled with the keyboard and mouse, monetized through paid song packs that will eventually be purchasable within the game. On October 7th, custom charts became available to be uploaded to the Steam Workshop in the 0.4.0 release, such as the one seen in the above video (made by yours truly)! We hope to see what people are able to come up with for this game as it continues to evolve.
Download RhythmStrike here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3803270/RhythmStrike/
[Artists must be in the Approved Artist listing in order to be permitted for upload to the Steam Workshop.]

Promotion Would you call this a Rhythm game?
I’ve been trying to figure out how to describe the game I’m making, and my best description so far is a psychedelic rhythm runner: you run inside a six-sided tunnel and jump between its walls.
Every level is built from its song: spores sit exactly on the beat, the path narrows during build-ups and bursts wide on the drop, and the visuals pulse with the music, with psychedelic mushroom power-ups on top.
It’s not a Perfect/Great timing game, so I’m genuinely curious where you’d draw the line.

PC Rhythm Game Rhythm, adventure and roguelite game!
We are making Heart of Artemisa. It's like a zelda but has rhythm, and it's very inspired in Hi-Fi Rush, Hades, and Crypt of the Necrodancer. We have a demo on Steam that you can play.

Question I made a music game where your upgrades progressively build the soundtrack, would this appeal to rhythm game players?
Hey!
I’m making an incremental game where your upgrades progressively add new layers to the music.
It’s not a traditional rhythm game: instead of following a preset song, you move your speaker around the arena, destroy Crumbs with waves, and trigger instruments through your actions.
I’m curious whether this kind of concept appeals to rhythm game players, or if it feels too far removed from what you normally look for in the genre.
The idea I wanted to explore was: instead of reacting to the soundtrack, what if your gameplay actually built it?
Here’s the Steam page if you want to see more:
