I plan on turning on my heat Nov 1st.
What temp do you recommend I set my thermostat? I want to be warm, but I don’t want my bill to be thru the roof either.

I live on the third floor, and have baseboard heating. Windows will be covered in plastic this year.

I have a 2016 Honda and I’m looking for a relatively cheap but still trustworthy oil change. I’m in the Providence area but I don’t mind driving a bit further for a cheap/good oil change.

Trying to get tickets to the new Black Duck documentary but their website doesn’t seem to work. I go to the link and am greeted with the attached page, and clicking on anything on the page does nothing.

Sick and yearning for soups....but all there is is Ramen which I love, but I need something closer to home to heal me from this sickness.

As it gets colder I do always love eating more food from home but seems like the Polish community isnt strong in Rhode Island at all, mostly only in Connecticut and Massachusetts!

Shots were reportedly fired into a Providence residence - while a mother was inside with her two children.

Now, Providence Police have arrested a next-door neighbor for the shooting, which allegedly saw a bullet lodged in one of the juveniles' mattresses.

About Incident

Shortly before 11 PM on Saturday, police were called to Barstow Street in Olneyville for a report of shots fired into an apartment.

When officers met with the victim, she said that the night before, she thought she heard gunshots coming from her children's bedroom. She said she checked the room but did not find anything unusual.

The next night, however, she said she lifted one of her children's mattresses and saw a hole in the bedroom wall - and a bullet on the bed, which is when she called police.

The victim told police her children's bedroom was adjacent to another apartment; police said they entered that apartment and found a man inside, later identified as Sean Pagan, age 34.

According to police, officers found a gun holster hanging near the bed, as well as a safe near the bed with what appeared to be a rifle case underneath the bed.

Police said that the wall adjacent to the victims' apartment had what appeared to be a bullet hole that was covered with filler.

Pagan was arrested and transported to Central Station for charging.

I’ll be in Rhode Island from January to march & wanted recommendations on things to do during my stay!

Hi all! I am in South County (Richmond area), and to my knowledge there are no running club options less than 20 minutes away (closest being Westerly or Mystic). I want to start a weekday early morning run club, meeting up at the URI path and taking it down the South County Bike trail, and eventually add a track night! Would love to know if anyone is interested in joining.

I like to think about Christmas way early. I'm trying to think of ideas for my boyfriend's Christmas gift. We love museums and aquariums. I thought about paying for him to meet the seals at the Boston Aquarium, or horseback riding at Lincoln Woods, as it's something he has never done before.

Maybe going to a tea house? Or getting to meet goats? Or a boat tour? Maybe a pottery studio to make something? Give your best ideas and thanks in advance!
