Discussion Mr X ain't even scary, he's just annoying
I've been playing through Re2R for the first time and I got my Claire run done and now am doing Leon, and the one thing that has stayed consistent through both runs is that I find Mr X so annoying and not even scary. He's slow as fuck and I can always gain distance on him, his loud out footsteps make him easy to avoid so he presents no threat.
The problem is that he essentially acts as a walking wall. so many times I've ran around the long way in order to avoid him and its lowkey just annoying. I don't like him

Discussion The Resident Evil movie (2026) it's an awful adaptation... Right?
SPOILERS!
Heyo! I've been a fan of RE for a while now, and after finally watching the new movie I gotta say... They just really slapped the RE name on a whatever movie right? Like come on it's not only that "Uh I wanted to see Leon" or a "Why they didn't put Nemesis" but my point is that the movie is full with random ass monsters and zombies when Resident Evil 1 to 3 had a lot of unique and Iconic infected, the only one that would fit on the RE roster of monsters is that one Dog on the farm... And that looked more like it came from RE4. There are no lickers, no hunters, not even the gigant spiders or even the new x-hunters from the remake, the gigant infected animals or plants not one evolved zombie or even a Tyrant, the only kinda unquie monster from that movie we got to see is that mass of bodies that... Honestly if they wanted a something that hunts the protagonist thru the movie they literally got a bunch of better options for a RE movie.
While I was watching the movie with a friend something that constantly came up is the fact that this could've been a Left4Death movie and it would not change a thing, damn it would actually make more sense for the virus to be the Green flue instead of the T-virus, we literally got a spitter, a Boomer with rats and that scene when they get the try to get the car keys back literally looked like a Smoker at work, it just doesn't feel like Racoon city or RE in the slightest.
I really liked the movie, don't get me wrong, it was really entertaining with a charismatic protagonist and a good setting, it holds your attention from start to finish... But it's just a horrible adaptation, I just feel like they ripped me off when they tried to sell me a RE movie with little to non connection to the actual universe... And no, the little easter eggs here and there mean nothing when they don't even make the efford of adapting the world those easter eggs belong to.
I was making this post mainly because I haven't seen anyone else opinion beyong general public and I would like to know what more fans think, again I really like the movie and my critic isn't in bad fait, I just feel let down that to this day there aren't any good adaptations of a saga like RE.

Discussion how would u rank the games (you’ve played) from scariest to least scary?
just curious

Discussion Why does Requiem not let you start a fresh new game?
I hate how all the notes you picked up carry over and the weapons you used to find on the ground in your first run as Leon are no longer there. You're basically forced to buy them now instead of finding new gear through exploration. And you can just buy the most overpowered stuff from the start.

Discussion How do y’all feel about this?
Personally, while he did highlight some issues I had with RE4 Remake, I still think its combat was better. In my opinion, simplicity is a key hallmark of the RE experience, and I think some people confuse having more complex action mechanics with them automatically being better than simpler ones.

Discussion [RE2R] Need Help with Claire's B Scenario Hardcore Run
I'm trying to get S+ Rank on Claire's B Scenario for RE2 remake but I just can't seem to move fast enough. On my first attempt I got to the Cheif's Office in 00:44, got to the Sewers in 01:12 and got to NEST in 01:35. No matter how hard I tried I just couldn't finish NEST in the time left so I restart from the beginning.
I only did barely better, making it to the Chief's Office in 00:39, Sewers in 01:12 (again) and NEST in 1:32. In the end I've only shaved off three minutes off my total time. I'm not sure where else I can shave off more time and to my knowledge RE2R doesn't have any big skips like RE4R has. I could go into more detail about my routes/strategies in the comments if that's needed.
I'm using both Neon Slice's guide on youtube as well as Map Genie so I'm pretty much at a loss. Literally any help is appreciated. Seriously.

Discussion Never give up on RE3R guys, it still has a chance to be good.
The modder of RE3R (LAST ESCAPE) on youtube post the poison mechanics that needed a blue herb to cure that was messing from the original, this guy never fail to amaze me.

Artwork/Cosplay Leon’s Las Plagas removal but in form of a Skill game
He’ll feel like a million bucks. I’m sure we can make him feel better
Crossover art I did of Leon Kennedy in the Operation board game. Since there was a scene of Leon getting his parasite removed in the fourth game I thought it be funny if he was in a position to the board game. It wanted to do the funny favor!
Leon looks like this for artstyle as I wanted him to look very goofy and silly as how to translate to the game’s artstyle which I feel I have successfully achieved off its vibes.
What do you all think of my drawing? I like to see every reactions.

Discussion I like how most Resident Evil bosses either have no humanity or remain composed. But whenever a boss fights Leon they crash TF out.

Discussion Thoughts on this Tier List?
Watched a RE marathon by NebsGoodTakes on Discord (I think he has YouTube too) and this is the tierlist he ended up with at the end.
I don’t fully agree with a lot of these takes, especially 3make’s placement but I’m curious to know the community’s thoughts :)

Discussion Resident Evil 2: Party Mode
Not sure if there's interest in this, but thought I'd share if there is.
When I heard there was a RE2 SplitScreen mod I got excited but my group is 3 people so I spent the making Resident Evil 2: Party Mode. I added functionality for up to 4 players, most things seem functional. Items such as ammo are grabbed by anyone and given to all players. Story/Key items can be grabbed by anyone and giving to P1/Leon.
For anyone who wants to try is: https://www.nexusmods.com/residentevil22019/mods/3024
This is the first time make a mod so feedback is appreciated.

Discussion Hey everyone! First time here!
So um... I just got here as you can see from my title. And I'm actually wanted to look for fanfics that are posted in AO3. I have one of my own that I just posted (still Chapter 1 though).
So help me by listing out some RE fanfics here, it can be from any platforms, any genre... In the meantime, can you guys also check mine? I wanna hear some feedbacks.
Resident Evil: A Winters Legacy
Thank you in advance!
*I'm sorry if I violated the 4th rules, but I promise that once I got the fanfic list, I will take my post down\*

Question wanting to play but dont know if my only console is going to be good enough
hi! i recently watched the new movie that came out and loved it. i’ve watched people play multiple of the games over the years and have a few that i rewatch. since the movie ive been thinking about the games so much and i really want to try to play them myself. the only issue is, i dont have a tv or a starters comsole like a play station or an xbox or anything like that. i only have a switch lite that i got to play animal crossing 5 years too late. is it worth playing on a switch? i know it wont be the same but quite a few of the games are available on there and im afraid of waiting to hopefully find a used gaming console and just not caring about it down the line. i should also note that i am a massive baby when it comes to scary games. i typically dont even play video games but the few i have played are ACNH, tomodachi life, and stardew valley (but get scared in the mines and never progress) so i know this will be a huge shift but i want to try. i guess i say that to make it clear im not super worried about the total immersion of it all because i would probably piss myself if i was too immersed. anyway, lmk if it’s even worth it to buy the games on switch or if they suck butt on there. thanks!
