Question❔ Why did the show always seem to chicken out of love interest being a villain or major character deaths?
I'm on a rewatch, and I seem to notice the show constantly seems to reveal a love interest might be a villain, only for a few episodes later, they say they're sorry, and all is forgiven.
- Caleb was originally spying for Jenna? Nah, he actually fell for Hanna.
- Toby joined the A team? He did it to "protect" Spencer.
- Ezra actually knew who Aria was when they met and was using her for his book? Nah he actually fell for her, took a bullet for her and is forgiven.
Same goes for major character deaths. Toby and Mona both had teases of being dead only for it to be revealed they didn't die

Character Discussion Spoilers for Season 7
This is mainly about Caleb and Hanna. Gotten in such a habit of just listing which episode I'd spoil for any new time watchers lmao. I just posted about the Spencer and Caleb thing and just got a bit further and OMG I'm so happy!!!! Hopefully this doesn't get ruined 😂
Anyways, the rest of this show.. They're so messing with my head I barely have words for any of the other characters.

Character Discussion The friendship I wish we’d gotten to see in the show!
One was more evil than the other, and that’s exactly why I loved them. The way they kept blaming each other while simultaneously covering for one another was amazing, because you could never really tell where their loyalty ended and their self-interest began. They were both shady, manipulative, and full of secrets, and they could’ve been connected to practically everything: from the NAT Club to Cape May, from the night Alison disappeared to the murders and all the cover-ups that shaped Rosewood’s history.
Unfortunately, the only scene we ever get of them together is Jason’s flashback, and it’s insane to think about all the potential the writers left unexplored. Their friendship could’ve connected so many seemingly unrelated storylines, creating a web of alliances, betrayals, and secrets that would’ve made the entire series feel much more cohesive. Imagine two women like them working together behind the scenes, each with her own agenda, willing to cover for one another when necessary but also ready to throw the other under the bus to save her own skin. Wouldn’t they have made an incredible villain duo?
I hate how they ruined CeCe’s character and completely abandoned Melissa’s. They both had their own stories, connections, and an enormous amount of narrative potential, yet the writers never managed to make the most of either of them. They’re genuinely my two favorite characters in the entire series, which makes it even more frustrating to think about what they could’ve become.
These two women could’ve accomplished so much together. They could’ve been the link between the NAT Club, Alison, Cape May, the Rosewood families’ secrets, and the A game, turning a bunch of disconnected revelations into one massive conspiracy. Melissa and CeCe had the potential to become one of the most iconic and dangerous duos in Pretty Little Liars, and the writers wasted it all.

Question❔ Who was A?
I’ve seen the show many times and obviously I know who A is. What I mean is who played A? In all the ending scenes, who acted as A? I think it would be cool if the girls were able to act like A in the scenes where they’re fully disguised in the hoodie/gloves plotting at the end of each episode. Or do you think the actors actually on the A team like mona, Cece, Toby etc were the ones in the hoodie. Unless it was just a completely separate actor? I hope I’m making sense lol Anyone know any info?

Character Discussion Can we talk about the comedic gold that was Hanna Marin?
Undoubtedly, this has gotta be one of the most hilarious Hanna moments for me. It caught me completely off guard and had me rolling when I first watched it 😭

Question❔ I love Spencer’s barn. Who wouldn’t want one at that age? In fact, all the girls’ parents were very permissive, letting them do so many things.

TW: Ezria⚠️ “Ezra likes small women” 😬
Currently rewatching and I literally paused when Aria said that, I get really into the show and then moments like this snap me back into reality 🥲

Show Discussion just realized hanna’s dentist was also the fortune teller
first time ever realizing this🤣🤣 the actress who also played as gypsy in gilmore girls was both the fortune teller in episode 6 season 1, then the dentist at the dentist office when A drugged Hanna and put a note in her tooth. has anyone else noticed this?

Show Discussion kinda stopped watching after ali’s reveal
i’m an avid rewatcher, i watch at least once a year all the way to the end. but genuinely the storyline just becomes a headache to me at this point forward. season 5 is tolerable, but season 6 and 7… idk yall. i would rank the seasons exactly in the order they come in. 1 and 2 are my favs, then 3 and 4. the only episodes im really sat for season 5-7 are holiday episodes or themed dances. i’m back to rewatching off campus and abandoned PLL for now.

Question❔ Anyone feel like the girls never truly get to bust ‘A’
Now it’s been a beat since I watched the show but one clear frustration I remember is that it feels like the girls are only ever allowed to get as close to busting ‘A’ as he/she/they wants. Like I remember a scene where Aria has this laptop that supposed to have a BUNCH of stuff that would expose ‘A’. And this is around the time Aria and s taking self defense classes. ‘A’ shows up and Aria just stands there in shock as they take a staple gun to pin her behind plastic wrap as they take the laptop and leave. As soon as ‘A’ vanishes Aria easily frees herself. Now of course we can use the “Freeze Response” to justify it but it feels like they did ALL that work to get the laptop just to lose it without a fight.
Then I remember the time they set a trap for A at some carnival thing and it’s like ALL the guys and girls are there - I’m pretty sure even the police arrive - and have surrounded ‘A’ yet they still escape.
In general I just feel like because the writers are so keen on the big ‘A’ being a surprise to everyone, the girls are never given a true ‘A’ reveal. Mona, Cece, Alex, heck EVEN Shana, they all choose to reveal themselves. Any A that they do find out (Toby, Aria, Cece as red coat) is not a true reveal because those aren’t real ‘A’s and Red Coat Cece was just a trick.
Like over the course of nearly a decade these girls never truly grow as investigators. They never get the fruits of their labor. Most “clues” they find are either red herrings or retconned to be so.
What are your thoughts (especially if you remember the show more vividly 😅).

Question❔ Have any of you PLL fans here seen Desperate Housewives?
I swear y'all if some of you have been needing a new show to watch similar to Pretty Little Liars, watch Desperate Housewives! It's full of drama, friendship, scandals, relationships, and there is a different mystery every season. If you love a mystery series with female leads, watch Desperate Housewives.

Show Discussion "You need to control A!." "That's what I am trying to do!"
Season 2 episode 20
WHAT an absolutely stellar episode.
I like the Holden story line. Its a nice little low stakes off-shoot the plot goes. Just enough turns to keep it interesting and its well established over a few episodes. Plus his training helps him with Noel Khan. Its a tight little story. "The doctor recommended gardening, this is better."
Its just such a tight little plot cul-de-sac. And shows how Aria as a character has chemistry with everyone yet shes saddled to frickin Fitz.
Hanna and Spencer hacking Caleb's computer is pure camp. "You need to control A!" "Thats what I am trying to do!" "NO hit CNTRL A!"
I enjoy the turn here of Maya feeling self conscious with Emily's jock friends. I know, I wish they were end game. But this story beat IMO helps flesh out Maya a little bit. Shes not as much "not like other girls" since she feels self conscious about fitting in a little.
And of course. 1105. This show is so unapologetically... female gaze I nearly lose my mind how good it is.

Character Discussion Sean..
Lowkey he was a victim who got webbed into Hannah and A mess. But can I say poor Sean when they were at the dance and she was like what’s wrong ? And he was like “You said one dance it’s been five.” 😂😂 that was good

Theories/Speculation Sometimes I like to lean into the Aria was supposed to be Big A theory
I have been rewatching with my boyfriend and of course Arias name starts with an A but sometimes it is fun to imagine that these were clues. Check out her necklace in Season 2 ep 20

Question❔ When do you think we’ll get a reunion?
Do we think it’ll be in the next few years or longer than that?
And will it be in the form of a movie or a new season?
EDIT: I mean a on screen reunion continuing the Liars’ story!
