right side weak and painful, looking for exercises

I'm all kinds of fucked up, mostly on my right side. My head tilts down to the right with forward head posture, and my whole body feels internally rotated. I have pain at the back of my right hip, knee and big toe. My right ring and little finger give out first on dead hangs, and on bench I curl toward the right to make up for the weaker side. My right bicep may be slightly torn from an old injury (slight atrophy). Any exercises based on the pics?

If you have significant upper cross syndrome and lower cross syndrome (rounded shoulders, neck hump, forward neck posture, kyphosis, anterior pelvic tilt, obesity, etc.) and you force yourself to stand as straight as you can, is that height measurement the maximum possible?

Or is more attainable?

Question Buffalo hump vs lipoma?

Thumbnail gallery
14 Upvotes

So I have had this neck hump for maybe 7 years or now. Recently I’ve been trying to stretch and workout to see if I could get rid of it. I’m not sure if it’s helped at all tbh. I saw my doctor and she thinks it’s a lipoma but I’m not super convinced. In any case she thinks only cosmetic surgery will get rid of it, which wouldn’t be covered by insurance. It doesn’t hurt but it makes me very insecure. Has anyone had anything similar?any luck getting rid of it with life style changes?

Question Posture so bad I feel like it's welded together. Do I need a doctor or can I help myself?

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

Yeah, as a man from the generation affected by COVID I used to sit a lot in front of a pc. And it didn't stop after that. Only recently I got off it, started working out and reduced weight to around 80 kg at 169 cm while working out. And I'm glad I did, but my posture is fixed in this position and it's hard for me to guess whether I should make an appointment or not (it's going to be costly). I've got APT, rib flare and some kind of hump? Also my centre of gravity seems to be on the foot's front rather than the heel. When I tuck my pelvis forwards and try engaging core muscles (second picture) I feel like my spine is welded. I start kneeling involuntarily, leaning forward even more and barely holding that position makes me a great distress. Not even mentioning trying to walk. I started diaphragm breathing, and it feels very unnatural. Any tips or videos or anything to help me out? I'm scared it might be too late. It might be worth mentioning that when I tried laying down on a roller on my back trying to I dunno, "see how bad it is with my neck" I felt an immense stinging sensation near a place where the cervical spine transitions into the thoracic spine, and on the lower neck. Also on the first photo it seems my pelvis is more tucked in than it usually is, kinda involuntarily did it while taking pictures.

Question Are my shoulders normal?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Weird question, sorry if I‘m in the wrong sub. But I always thought my shoulders were weird, I feel like they are not in the right position. Everywhere I look, the shoulder extends beyond the triceps and I‘ve looked at my own so often that I honestly can‘t tell if my triceps is further back than my shoulder or if thats just fat and will become more „normal“ when my weight drops. I‘m going to the gym very regularly and tracking my calories and all, it just makes a little dent in my motivation every time I see that part of me and feel like it will never get better. Not trying to complain, just wondering if I‘m just looking differently at my own body because I‘ve seen it a lot

Question My body at rest vs. a mild stomach vacuum. Why does my stomach look so distended at rest? Is it a weak core? I’m a bit overweight but I’ve always, no matter how skinny, had a very large stomach. Advice wanted to correct this! I tend to sit on my tailbone a bit.

Does anyone have a similar experience or way to correct this? I always have a massive stomach/gut area and no health issues. If diet alone is enough that’s fine.

I noticed something strange in the bathroom; I don't know if it's a hump or something. I'm a hypochondriac, and I need to know if there's really something there to work on or if it's all in my head.

Question Left AIC/ Right Bc pattern

I'm still young and I don't feel like I should have this but I do. I always find myself putting more pressure on the left side my left rib seems bigger and longer I feel like I can breathe more in my left rib but even my normal breathing seems shallow my chest feels like it's turned onward on the left side like it's turning right, and my range of motion when turning left is very low I have rounded shoulders and forward head posture and tight neck and trap muscles with TMJ disorders I feel my bite on the right side more and even my face feels shifted now my right side feels bigger now and my jaw also feels asymmetrical and it feels like my airway had gotten smaller my jawline has shifted backwards now and I have no idea how to fix this and I don't have the money to consult a specialist and I have no idea where to start. Even though my diagnosis is self I have all the symptoms and I feel like it's affecting my life more than it should, my asymmetry has gotten to the point my photoshoot was declined. And I live in a place where things like this aren't really of concern and I feel like even if I went to my parents they would just brush it off as teenage insecurity. I feel very stuck and have no idea where to even begin.

Question swayback posture exercises for hypermobile joints?

hello! i have hypermobile joints and was wondering if anyone else here who's also hypermobile has any advice?

i have terrible forward head posture, rounded shoulders, APT, etc... all my joints are hypermobile so it's a full-body problem. many of the "simple" exercises are too hard, still, i can't activate the correct muscles. i've tried simple cues like standing with a soft bend in my knees and tucking my tailbone down, but then my ankle or hips start to hurt :/

i've been having chronic headaches for the past couple of weeks due to how tense my shoulders/upper back have been and want to quickly find exercises that work for me so i can get it under control sooner!

also, i have mild scoliosis and structural open bite which causes mouth breathing, as well as tmj issues. but i've scheduled an appointment with an orthodontist (will probably get him to refer me to a speech therapist as well) to start fixing that!

Uneven shoulders/back during a dead hang — what could be causing this?

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I've noticed that my shoulders and upper back seem asymmetrical when I hang from a pull-up bar. I'm trying to understand whether this could be related to muscle imbalances, shoulder blade positioning, posture, or something else.

- Is this kind of asymmetry common?

- What signs would suggest that I should get it assessed by a physiotherapist?

- Are there any details I should pay attention to when observing my shoulder movement?

I'm not looking for a diagnosis from a photo, just some guidance on what to look into.

Thanks for your help!

Looking for advice to fix a neck bump (tech neck)

So I recently got my hair cut short after years of having it long and the first thing a noticed was that I that have a small bump in the back of my neck, e is not that visible, but it has gotten to the point where I've became really self conscious about it.

Im lookin for ways to fix it: i used to to swimming and kickboxing so I'm willing to try those again and right now I've been going to some yoga classes (which i really hate) but the only thing that they have done is that they ease my lower back pain. Also recently I started going the gym but I'm unsure of the right routine to fix my problem is.

Again is not that visible and im really desparte to find something that'll help me fix my neck bump, improve my posture and maybe even gain some strength.

Question Need help fixing atp

So I have light atp and have had it my whole life and I’m tired of it. It kinda makes me look fat when I’m not shirtless, cuz I’m skinny so when I am, my abbs are visible. I do intense but not high level swimming and light callisthenics. At the callisthenics I go to, there is a pull up bar, a bench, an “unstable bench and multiple Australian pull up bars with different heights. I did some quick research thinking it would be easy, but I saw some many videos with so many different exercises. I just want a simple answer from a person who actually fixed their atp.

Question When doing chin tucks, are you bringing your head back or your chin down?

I have pretty bad forward neck posture that I'm trying to fix and I'm not sure I'm doing chin tucks correctly. Should I be moving my chin down (kind of like I'm nodding or looking at the ground) or should I be bringing my head/neck backwards (kind of like I'm trying to dodge a punch of something)?

Question What could be causing these symptoms?

Pretty underweight (always been) 20M. For the past 4 months, I have been experiencing a constant feeling of unreality. It feels as though I am drunk/high or half-asleep, as if I am on autopilot and everything around me feels somewhat unreal. I have searched online, and my symptoms seem to resemble derealization.

In addition to this, I experience fatigue even when I sleep well. The fatigue does not seem to depend on whether I do physical activities during the day or not. However, over the past few weeks, I have started sleeping poorly and waking up early in the morning.

I also experience headaches, pressure in my head, and neck pain. I have tried muscle relaxants and massage therapy for the neck pain, but neither has helped. Also at the start of this i sometimes felt like fainting when walking but it has gone away. I also have noticed one singular eye floater on my right eye.

What could be causing these symptoms? They do not occur in distinct episodes, and the headache is not particularly severe. It feels more like a tension-type headache.

I have tried triptanes, but they did not help. My thyroid function is normal, as are my vitamin B12, B9 and vitamin D levels. My ferritin level is 37. And it has been changing from 49 to 24. I also havw crohns disease which is in remission.

My neurologist prescribed escitalopram as a trial, which I took for two and a half months, but it did not help. She also did head mri and there was nothing wrong.

I have no history of trauma, no panic symptoms, and generally do not experience much stress, apart from the stress caused by these symptoms themselves.

My symptoms started in the final days of my new job in car repairshop where i was moving car tires and lifting them. Im not sure if this can be linked to that because i didnt have any symptoms expect the final days. I have not been working at all during this 4 month period.

What could be the underlying cause of these symptoms?
