Second ever shiny, first on shining pearl

Guys, this has taken me months of having my Switch off to the side at all times. Im currently sitting in my car watching AreYouGarbage waiting to go into work and I caught him at 6:14am. I threw a Quick Ball for goofs and it actually worked first try. I'm beaming. I think I will change his name to Kippy because when I caught him Kippy was talking about light blue Gatorade on AYG. I dont think im going to do another shiny hunt because this was actually taxing on my mental health, but now the feeling is great. I did see someone caught a shiny Arceus and that looks tempting.

I actually jumped out of my chair and started quietly screaming to myself!

This was my first ever full odds static encounter hunt! It took me about a week to prepare for the hunt, which involved completing the Legends Arceus dex and finally beating Briliant Diamond. I started hunting on September 27th and caught it on October 17th.

I got pretty lucky, getting less than halfway to odds. It was still a huge grind that I estimate took about 25 hours of resetting in total. Most of that time was spent also watching anime or youtube.

Changing the time to always be night while hunting made Arceus look clearly white instead of a kind of yellowish cream color in the day. This helped a lot which the second guessing and made the hunt a lot more bearable.

Also, remapping ZR on my Switch 2 to D-pad up let me hunt with only one hand. This was super convenient and also helped a lot.

(Also, the clip saved weird because I accidentally opened the Quick Settings menu which causes the video to cut off. I had to edit two clips together which I did to the best of my ability. Thats why it moves so fast at 24 seconds.)

I’m new to competitive style play, but I’m not new to Pokémon at all. I have access to trade evolutions, both Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Nothing is off limits except legendaries.

I need someone who is highly experienced or try-hard to give me the most broken team of six for single battles. I’m versing a friend here soon, and I just want to obliterate them - thanks!

Extra info: I know how EVs/IVs work. Again, I have access to both copies of the game and trade evolutions. Legendaries are not allowed. This will be for single battling.

I made a post like a week or two ago questioning its existence because I’ve been resetting on and off for months, and wouldn’t ya know it- I finally got it at work!
The only part I’m sad about is the fact I WANTED TO BADLY to get it in a regular pokeball, but it was 1 struggle away from KO so I had to use a master ball. (My shiny dialga is in a regular pokeball)

I finally have my favorite bird Pokemon as shiny to use in a new playthrough :D I’m so happy i only started hunting yesterday using swellow and a german ditto, still have a lot of eggs to go so I’m gonna hatch those too and see if i get another 🥹

I cought all the exclusive pokemon from brilliant diamond, but i want to get EVERY item, someone have a list of the items from exclusive pokemon hold item? And someone who have the ALL item list in the game??

Just beat Cynthia in Shining Pearl. It took everything I had!!! Landed at 90 hours.

Every potion. Every revive. I'm still shaking. It took over an hour to plot victory starting with the Elite 4.

Even then, the friendship mechanic bailed me out more times than I could count!!! Never again...?

At this moment I'm reminded of Inner Agent 3....which of the 2 was a harder feat?

If I transfer in a pokemon from a different game through Home and breed it will the pokemon that hatches be considered from bdsp? I’m looking to complete my home dex and don’t feel like going through the hassle of trading a dozen times.

Hey, can i trigger the Events for example for Dakrai or Arceus and all the other Legendarys in BD/SP so i can shiny hunt them in 2026? :)

Hello everyone! I have a little problem i need help with. I have 2 switches. 2 different BD profiles. I had started a playthrough on my Switch but stopped and started a new playthrough on my Switch Lite. That's my main playtbrought atm. I want to get the Torterra on my first playthrough and send it to my current playthrough on the Lite. Im just nervous that im going to screw it up. Is there any way to make this happen? I only care about the Torterra. Its probably easier than im assuming but I dont want to lose Torterra or erase what I have in HOME currently. If anyone could help me better understand or help me get this done I would be indebted to you. THANK YOU!!!

I am 1002 eggs in, slowly losing my mind and questioning everything 🙂 I’ve done this several times in SV, but it has never been this brutal. Anyone else over odds so I can feel some solidarity? 🥲

After 6 days of hunt since my shiny Dialga… This time I saved my Master Ball and caught it after just a couple of Dusk Balls. Which should I shiny hunt next? (I was planning Palkia but I don’t have an SP yet). So far: Arceus (2) ✅, Dialga ✅, Giratina ✅.

This was the stressiest shiny ever since i was in a double battle with an npc, i really hoped he wouldn't knock it out

I'm looking for a lucky egg so that I can up from level 46~48 to 55 (I'm about to enter the Victory Road, and I want to grind for the league)

but it has been 2 hours and just 4 chanseys, one of them holding a... oval stone 💀 5% chance of Chansey appearing, +5% chance of it hold a lucky egg...that's 0.052% chance. Should I just ignore the lucky egg and just grind without it?

Edit: LOL I just realized that the ONE chancey I caught just for dex purposes had a lucky egg 😭 I still want to know your thoughts tho, might be helpful for those who come after

This is the last Pokémon I need to complete the pokedex, I’ve given up trying to fish for feebas so now im here asking if anyone can help me out😭 If anyone has one and wouldn’t mind sharing it please reach out. I’ve never done anything online on the game so not sure how it works too well. I got a warning saying no trading trying to post but I’d give it right back if it can work like that.

Edit: a wonderful Redditor lobbed a feebas to me so I was able to complete the Pokédex. Appreciate any others offering help!

The Harvest + Trick method really works like a charm! Caught another shiny legendary without having to worry about it running out of PP and Struggle itself to death 😂
