PoliticsPH Senators Need to Be More Careful With Their Statements on Foreign Relations

Post image
• Upvotes

I think our senators need to be more careful when making public statements about China and other international issues I understand that they have the right to express their opinions but foreign relations are sensitive matters and careless statements could add unnecessary tension our senators have a responsibility to protect the country's interests but diplomacy should be handled carefully and with coordination with the President We should be focusing on policies that strengthen our country protect our economy and keep Filipinos safe

My biggest concern is what happens if tensions eventually escalate into an actual conflict Our soldiers will be the ones on the front lines while ordinary Filipinos could suffer the consequences The people making strong statements won't necessarily be the ones facing the immediate danger

I'm not saying our leaders should stay silent or avoid standing up for the Philippines We should defend our sovereignty but we also need to understand the consequences of our words and actions

Being firm doesn't mean we have to be reckless I just hope our elected officials will prioritize diplomacy national security and the lives of Filipinos before making statements that could make an already sensitive situation worse

What do you guys think? Should senators have more restraint when commenting on foreign policy or is public pressure from the Senate necessary to hold the government accountable?

GovtServicesPH Why our government ran-public services tend to always perform badly unlike our neighbors?

• Upvotes

Our neighbors have nationalized public utility, transport, oil, and certain industry sectors, yet are as decent or even better compared to our privatized counterparts (thanks to neoliberalism). We had government-ran utilities (NAPOCOR, TransCo, NAWASA), and transport (LRTA, MNTC, PNR, etc.) yet they perform/performed poorly and usually end up being neglected/privatized.

I'm not really convinced that the padrino system and the lack of incentives to hire the best talent are the factors. I want more answers because I always wonder why we cannot just renationalize certain sectors that used to be privatized that would at least mitigate the current issue of high prices in this country.

NaturePH Calm before the Storm: Itbayat Batanes Island amid the arrival of ST: Rosal/Champi

Currently at Itbayat island, batanes. The nature of this place brings calm and peace. Right now at 10:13am, Oct 21, there's a nice and bright weather.

Hoping that God will not let the Super Typhoon Champi/Rosal hit this place hard. It is just below Taiwan. Super Typhoon Rosal (Champi) is currently the strongest storm on Earth in 2026, acting as a massive heat engine churning violently over the Philippine Sea.

The residents have prepared themselves for the coming disaster. They have taken their animals in and reinforced their homes.

We cannot book anymore flights to go back to Basco due to the Aviation warnings. Thus we will have to weather the storm here together.

Hello everyone,

I am the ex girlfriend.

There's more info po. He has completely abandoned everything, he left me with 60-100k debt (loans + unfinished commission)

ayaw ng lola niya ipasabi sakin na kung saan siya pero they were spotted in pampanga po by his colleagues kasama lola niya. Wala na po siyang plano bumalik and will not take accountability.

Nahihirapan ako dahil pinapatay ako ng conscience ko bc of the responsibilities he left at uncertainties bat ako iniwan and why he left everything on me. I was told na he planned this a year na pala daw, that he wants to reset his life. We do weekly check ins on each other if we are okay.. pero masyado akong nacomfortable at naniwala sa sagot niya na we are okay.

Yes, di po ako inosente. I lash on him, I get mad at him pero I apologize and fix the situation even if yung root ng galit ko is because of him.

I thought I knew him pero hindi pala. We found so many more evidences and answers to my questions why during our 3rd to 4th year together naging distant siya. When everything has been clearly communicated and adjusted on both parties.

Hindi ko na po alam gagawin ko. He was very comfortable on leaving me and his responsibilities..

I did not wish to reveal this dahil iniisip ko baka nagpapahinga na from me, but no. This was a planned escape na po. Sorry if this will come off as toxic or "kaya siya umalis dahil sayo".

But the matter at hand here is the unfinished responsibilities and mga utang na iniwan niya sakin and the clients he left too.

NewsPH Another Filipino Religion Embroiled in International Money-Laundering and Tax-Evasion Cases

Thumbnail

As the country follows the legal troubles of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Apollo Quiboloy, who faces fraud and bulk cash-smuggling charges in the United States, another Filipino religious organization is confronting a widening international financial controversy.

Brazilian judicial records identify Members Church of God International (MCGI) minister Licerio "Sonny" Espayos Catan and current leader Daniel Razon in criminal proceedings in the state of Santa Catarina. The cases follow a longer history of financial crimes involving MCGI (popularly known as Ang Dating Daan) founder Eliseo "Eli" Soriano and his partner Ulysses Alaer Villamin, whose unexplained bank deposits were flagged by Brazilian tax authorities.

Catan is a defendant in an active criminal proceeding filed in 2026 by the Public Prosecutor's Office of the State of Santa Catarina. The case, No. 5001597-13.2026.8.24.0082, is classified as a crime against the tax system (crimes contra a ordem tributária).

Catan also appears in an official October 23, 2024 notice from Brazil's National Treasury Attorney General's Office (PGFN), which identifies him in an earlier criminal proceeding. Razon is indicted before the Regional Guarantees Court in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, for grave threats against a financial inspector. A separate proceeding names his son, Daniel Razon Jr, in a federal criminal tax investigation. That case was filed in 2025 before Brazil's Fourth Federal Regional Court by the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office.

MCGI's Brazilian expansion began under founder Eli Soriano, who extended the church's television evangelism across South America. By 2013, MCGI was deploying additional workers to strengthen its Latin American operations. Brazil became Soriano's principal overseas base until his death in February 2021.

Since assuming leadership of the church, Razon has cultivated a reputation for philanthropy aimed specifically at police and government units at home and abroad, including in El Salvador, Brazil and Colombia, through cash donations and other outreach.

The financial controversy predates the newly discovered cases. In October 2020, Brazil's Administrative Council of Tax Appeals (CARF) upheld a tax assessment against Villamin and imposed a 150 percent qualified penalty for tax evasion. In March 2021, the same council upheld a similar penalty against Soriano’s estate.

NewsPH Salvador Panelo Jr. caught misinforming live?

I was just listening to DZBB live today, 21Oct, while driving. Panelo Jr. has mentioned that VP Sara’s “troublemaker” remark was made after the Laos drug haul. Interview by Rowena Salvacion and Joel Reyes Zobel continued however after a few minutes JRZ corrected Panelo Jr. that the troublemaker remarks came after Cale88 allegations and not the Laos drug haul.

I think JRZ could have further pinned Panelo Jr. down with that statement however as journalists, until when can they push for statements? I personally believe that he should be cornered further with the misinformation he mentioned until he admits he was wrong. The interview ended with Panelo Jr. saying he will check again but he stood firm that what he said was what he gathered from the information he had prior the interview.

After the interview, JRZ pressed on with his statement that the troublemaker remarks came after the Cale88 allegations. Not sure if Panelo Jr. will return to DZBB for another interview lol

PoliticsPH 15 Billion Benteng Bigas Corruption?

Post image
77 Upvotes

Saw this post from Bilyonaryo News, and honestly, nakakadismaya. Based on my research, may ₱5 billion allocation at another ₱10 billion for rice programs, totaling ₱15 BILLION, with FTI under the DA involved in implementation.

Then COA reportedly issued an adverse audit opinion on FTI’s financial statements, citing ₱5.43 billion in unsubstantiated DA trust liabilities, questionable collections, unsupported adjustments, and ₱361 million in business income without adequate supporting documents.

Meanwhile, ordinary Filipinos are struggling with rice prices, while farmers face rising costs and concerns about rice smuggling continue.

The public deserves clear answers and concrete results. If leadership cannot deliver the transparency and improvements expected, perhaps it’s time to reconsider your position.

An adverse audit opinion doesn’t automatically prove corruption, but findings this significant deserve serious explanations.

₱15 BILLION in rice-program funding. ₱5.43 BILLION in questioned audit findings.

Kawawang Pilipinas.

Hanggang kailan tayo magtitiis?

1.2k Upvotes

Pauwi na ako galing raket this was around 11.40pm sa may Burol, molino bacoor ako sumakay.

This scenario went on for about 20+ seconds, alam ko may nakuha si nanay phone ata. Ako ung lalaking malaki katawan and isa pa lalake. Sa kabila ung mtandang magnanakaw, ung biktima and magnanay..

Sobrang gusto gusto ko na mag-intervene, pero nag aalangan ako kasi wala ako dala anything to protect me just in case ung malaking katawan eh kasabwat pala. Nakauniform din ako and kabado baka balikan ako sa workplace ko kasi kita logo ng hospital where I work.

I feel so bad para kay ate and for myself.

GovtServicesPH BJMP or BFP career?

Which bureau would you choose to pursue a career in, particularly in terms of work-life balance, career growth, and long-term opportunities for professional development?

Although both bureaus may share a similar organizational structure and have comparable responsibilities, I’m curious about the differences in their workplace culture, workload, and overall working environment.

I’d like to understand which one might be a better fit for someone who values both career progression and a sustainable work-life balance. would greatly appreciate hearing personal opinions, insights, and recommendations, especially from those who have firsthand experience working in either bureau.

Thank you po!

For what reason?
