General Is the downfall of Revo fitness beginning

So there's level 1 , 2, 3 now up to 14.69 dollars a week, they have slowly made more of the gym % for level 2, probably will do the same for level 3

Chemist warehouse ads at the gym between songs and on the screens, sauna ads on screens

Seems the downfall into corporate greed for a once local gym chain, I am keen to hear Perth's thoughts

Are there better options NoR and what does the future gym landscape look like if Revo continues on this path

A mural featuring iconic imagery from the Back to the Future franchise, including the DeLorean time machine, Marty McFly, and Doc Brown, painted by local artist Dan Bianco.

Your task is to guess where the location of this mural is?

First correct guess gets my respect and a cold one...

Dating and Friends Dating in Perth SOR — where are we meeting people?! 😅

Okay, genuine question for the Perth ladies, especially those of us SOR…Rockingham/Mandurah
WHERE are we actually meeting single men these days?! 😂
Tinder feels like a wasteland, Bumble isn’t much better, and apparently finding a decent bloke who genuinely wants to date is becoming an Olympic sport.
I’m 30, single, and starting to wonder where everyone is meeting people outside of dating apps.
Are we going to pubs? Cafés? Events? Do I need to start wandering around Bunnings looking confused?! 😭😂 I don't really have a social circle of women to go out with, it would be nice to have support.. but I'd love suggestions for places or activities that are comfortable to attend solo.

Seriously though, where are the single men in their early 30s hiding SOR? Preferably ones who actually want a relationship rather than something casual!
Would genuinely love some suggestions because the apps are doing absolutely nothing for me.
Surely I’m not the only one struggling?! 😂

Please be nice, Reddit, I'm genuinely asking ❤️😅

An hour of video spanning from the 1950’s until the 1990’s of an American family called the Edward’s. It had Christmases, family holidays, old pets on it. I thought surely someone in this family must want this footage. If this is yours please let me know or if you know someone with the last name Edward’s from America let them know. There were so many beautiful memories on this thing and it breaks my heart that it was in an op shop.

First three photos from the Western Australia Dragon Boat Festival in March; the last three from the WA Chinese Cultural Festival today, 17 October.

In the historical birthplace of the Southern Dancing Lions, iceberg lettuce is the traditional lion snack. But looks like it was cos was on the menu today. Glad to see the lions embracing a bit of foreign cuisine here in WA. 🥬

General Telethon is on my favourite

I always love watching Telethon and long time donator, After having our first child (Healthy now) We spend a very short time in NICU and makes you realise how other parents feel and our little boy was only in NICU for monitoring.

I wished the company I worked for donated, I did raise some money for it.

I just hope ALL the money raised goes to help research

Thanks
Dan

General Photo ID for seniors

Just a head's up. It's been a nightmare for my brother and I organising my mother's financial/tax matters as she's gone into aged care. She has vascular dementia and requires a hoist to move her anywhere. If your parents are at the stage where they aren't driving or needing a passport, make sure they apply for a Seniors' photo ID card. With new KYC laws, just winding up business entities, bank accounts have required original documentation. Even certified copies are not accepted.

She stopped driving over ten years ago. Her passport expired around the same time. Physically, I couldn't get her anywhere to take the required photos now. Many of the statements that were needed have gone digital. Even with both power of attorney and guardianship, they expect declarations (she can't legally give with her lack of cognition) for me to request items like house plans from the local council. What's the point having POA, if they still require permission from a person who is mentally unable to give it?

Get your parents to document where their credentials/important papers are located. Of course, the papers I needed were in the last document box I looked in.

General Just saw this menu, I know it had been discussed a few years ago but still weird af, maybe they really produce good burgers in Perth?

As an Asian I'm not gonna blame it because the owner of restaurant is Malaysian. Yet still think it's weird af imagine a black dude have "n*gg** fried chicken" on his menu or Japanese restaurant with BBQ dish called "Flamed Hot Hiroshima". 😭

Looking for Advice Just got hit with a synergy bill adjustment of $7000

Thumbnail

Opened up my synergy account to check my last bill (paid this month) and I see this staring back at me. A random bill adjustment for SEVEN. THOUSAND. DOLLARS. I had my ancient meter swapped in June ish to a fancy new smart one. I live in a 3 bedroom house, gas hot water and gas stove. No pool, no aircon, I’m not doing anything dodgy. Of course this happens on a Friday evening where I can’t even call… has anyone else experienced something like this? I feel like it’s physically impossible to use 23 MEGAWATTS

EDIT/ UPDATE 1:

Firstly Thanks to most of you for your genuine and helpful advice, I appreciate the help!
To clarify a few things:

  1. This isn’t a massive “catch up” or correction bill because my previous bills could have all been estimates - I have a GENUINE reading from 14 May which confirms the amount was 36XXX kw
  2. The $7000 charge refers to a period from 15 May to 25 May, and is claiming I somehow used 22,000 KW in 10 days (physically impossible)
  3. I switched from an old crusty spinning meter, to a smart meter on 25/26 May. I suspect that my old meter was read wrongly when it was removed - or the final reading was transcribed wrongly. Because it’s been removed (and taken away) I don’t have access to see if this charge is based off a “genuine” reading.
  4. The most recent photo I have of my OLD meter before it was removed, is from 25th March, which shows 35,XXX KW - meaning my genuine trading (see point 1) for Mar-May14 is accurate and not an estimate either.
  5. people being hostile or suggesting that I need to “pay up what I owe” - please reconsider your life choices - you don’t have all the information but instead of being civilised and polite like 95% of people in the comments, you feel the need to go on the attack. I sincerely hope nothing like this happens to you, it’s pretty stressful.
  6. I have submitted an online complaint with photo evidence, so hopefully I hear back soon 😬

Will keep you posted xx

It’s the first time I’ve noticed this in my local servo In Wanneroo,I’m guessing with the price of fuel these days, it can be quite a shock to some and the AED is a backup to ensure the punter survives to make payment.
They will be offering Afterpay soon !

Renting / Housing DIY house sales Perth

Edit: I am a buyer

Curious to hear if many people have done or know of DIY house sales in Perth? If you send all the required documentation to a conveyencer you can avoid the parasites that are real estate agents. Has anyone done this?

Where to find Second Hand Books for Young Teenager

Hi everyone,

My 12yo daughter loves to read. I have just bought a new bookcase for her bedroom, but it's completely empty! Can anyone please recommend somewhere to load up on second hand books? Bonus points if they are fantasy books aimed at young teens.

Thanks in advance!
