BPI BPI preapproved card

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi! May naka-experience ba dito ng same situation sa akin? I submitted my BPI credit card application through an in-app offer, pero hindi nag-reflect yung card sa BPI app after submitting. I received a confirmation email, but no SMS confirmation.
Normal lang ba ito? Does this mean na under review pa yung application, or may chance na approved na kahit hindi pa lumalabas yung card sa app?
Would appreciate hearing your experiences. Thank you

applied oct 22 4:00am

BPI BPI SCC to Regular CC Conversion

• Upvotes

Hello, can someone share their journey? Rejected kasi ako sa conversion from SCC to regular and I don’t know the reason.

Ang balak ko after ng installment ko by Oct 2027, cancellation lang daw ang choice ko para ma-release ang holdout amount ko. Questions are:

  1. Can’t I re-apply na lang after 6 months for the same reason: Convert SCC to regular cc + release of holdout amount + card retention + credit limit increase request instead of cancellation?

  2. If ever ipa-cut ko ang SCC ko at may cooling period na 12 months before I can apply again sa BPI for unsecured credit card, will I be considered as someone na “New-To-Bank?”

  3. Mawawala ba ang VYBE POINTS ko if ever ipapa-cut ko na ang BPI SCC ko or hindi naman siya affected?

  4. For BPI points, saan siya magandang gamitin bago ko ipa-cut ang SCC ko?

BPI BPI Amore Cashback Computation

For those with BPI Amore cc, do you religiously compute your cashback after each statement release? Paminsan ba hindi talaga tugma ung cashback earned sa ginastos? Tried to ask chatgpt din for all the combinations na pwd based on the percentages and amounts pero wala daw talagang tumutugma.

Transactions, rounded off already Lazada 1,000 - Meralco 17,000 - Lazada 1,000 - Lazada 4,000 - Lazada 4,000 - Globe 1,000 - Maynilad 5,000 - Meralco 20,000

Total cashback 493

RCBC Whoscall: RCBC automated call

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi, has anyone else received a call from a mobile number 09171660188 claiming to be from RCBC?

Whoscall flagged the number as an automated call, which I found suspicious since the call came from a mobile number. I didn’t answer. I did block instead.

Does this sound like a scam, or has anyone experienced a similar call? Thanks!

Maybank My first Credit Card—an SCC from Maybank + my Debit Card replacement

I submitted my application just this month lang din opting for branch pickup instead of home delivery to avoid failed deliveries. The debit card arrived first sa branch but I only came to the branch after another week hoping that the credit card have arrived by then, and yes nasa branch na nga rin siya!

IDK why I got a credit card, honestly parang may dumaan lang sa feed ko about this and then di na ko tinantanan ng utak ko na kumuha ng credit card lol. I'm quite a fan of collecting cards hahshs but all of my cards are debit cards mostly from no maintaining balance accounts. But as a student with no actual formal income, there's basically no hope in getting approved for a credit card. Sometimes I view my Maya app to see it's credit card offers and even they only offer me their secured version of their Black.

I also have zero credit history aside from 1 single transaction that I did with SPayLater which I just signed up for to get a 300 pesos discount on my accounting book lol.

So I looked for SCC offers and for a while my main option was Metrobank with their Titanium Mastercard with 20k minimum HOD and a NAFFL welcome promo if you hit 20k spend within 90 days. Thinking ko, this is like the perfect starter card kasi NAFFL, Metrobank is one of the top 3 banks, and they're very aggressive with promos so kahit wala namang kwenta yung points earned, sulit naman if there's a relevant promo that I can use. But alas, starting October, from 100%, their credit limit now only gives you 90% of your HOD and the minimum deposit for the Titanium went from 20k to 28k, which is medyo oa na for me.

So I shifted my attention back to Maybank. They're the only one remaining that gives you 100% credit limit, and while the card isn't NAFFL, they waive the annual fee if you simply use the card atleast 24 times, no minimum spend OR if you spend atleast 24k. So very easy to avoid paying annual fees. One thing to point out though, apparently Maybank doesn't convert SCCs to regular CCs. So I'd have to cut the card and apply for another to get a regular CC and get my HOD back from them.

Their branch isn't filled with people, the employees are nice, their hotline answers instantly, and the employee who assisted me even gave me their email and number contact card if I need help or have any questions

But I know that SCCs are just used as a stepping stone for regular CCs and most people don't even care about NAFFL with these kasi you can apply for a regular CC with NAFFL using the SCC as reference after 6-12 months of using it and then cancel the SCC. Usually naman annual fee is waived for the first year so before the 2nd year arrives, the SCC would have already served its purpose of helping you get approved for a regular CC.

So Maybank lets you choose if you want the Visa Classic or the Standard Mastercard and I opted for the latter cause it complements the colors of the card better haha. It looks so nice and the embossed details looks so polished kasi silver color yung text. They let you choose the name on the application form that will appear on the card max 30 characters including spaces so I chose my full name pero ewan ko lang kung bakit initial lang yung middle name ko lol.

Now I'm not a new customer of Maybank as I've opened EzySave+ and iSave accounts with them before. I deposited 10k and requested a debit card for free. However, nanakaw kasi wallet ko habang piyesta sa amin and andun din yung Maybank Debit Card ko 😢. Di ko agad natawagan hotline nila since inuna ko yung iba kong cards na nanakaw rin. But biglang nagkaroon na ng unauthorized charges sa card ko from GOOGLE *Melolo Short D, TikTok Shop Seller, and LAZADA PH all within minutes from each other. The amounts were small with them being 3, 0, and 1 peso lol. Only the first transaction was successful and the next two got declined and I immediately got an email from Maybank's Fraud Risk Management informing me about these suspicious transactions. So tawag agad ako sa hotline nila to have my card blocked. I didn't request for a new card until months later kasabay ng pag apply ko sa SCC. I was charged 150 as replacement fee though I did ask na since technically sa EzySave+ lang yung card ko dati, could I just request a card on my iSave account for free since I never requested for one there yet, and the answer was no hahshsh.

The debit card isn't embossed, but also not printed lang. I think they use some laser for this kasi you can literally feel the text sa likod rin nung card eh and yung front almost have some damage like medyo nagka small bubble yung plastic due to the heat of the laser lol. I guess if I can nitpick is yung black ink on the rest of the card's text looks like nagbi-bleed on its surroudings making the yellow background somewhat greenish. But again, nitpicking, this is still a very pretty looking card and very unique as well in terms of color! The most noteworthy feature of this is the unlimited withdrawals on any Bancnet ATMs. So kahit na iisa lang branch and ATM ng Maybank on my area, I could literally just withdraw at the nearest ATM that I can see with no fee! You will still see on the receipt of the ATM telling you you got charged the fee, pero check the app, and yung mismong amount lang na winithdraw mo yung nabawas.

Setting up the debit card is very easy, simply activate it on the app and nominate a pin. No need to go to their ATM which is new cause on my first debit card, binigyan pa ko ng temporary pin to use bago ko baguhin yung pin code ko sa ATM nila. The credit card on the other hand, they assisted me by calling their hotline and letting me speak to them. But I did have to manually link the credit card on their website before it popped up in the app.

So after getting both cards sa branch, I went to the mall and there on an empty seat I was literally unpacking my credit card from the envelope so I can use it lol. My first purchase was sa Mang Inasal and afterwards I bought a sunscreen sa Watsons hahshah.

Omg sorry ang haba na, nag storytelling pa talaga dito sa Reddit. Anyways, some people may get concerned and warn about debt, but no worries. I only buy, or in this case, utang, what I already usually buy and pay for with cash. And that credit utilization should be less than 30% of the credit limit, ideally only 10%. Like that hehe.

HSBC HSBC Red - CC has been restrained

Post image
37 Upvotes

Okay, so earlier today I have received an email telling me that they can no longer provide any services to me until Nov 13th. I got confused for a sec. because the recent usage of my acct was just last month. I don't use it often and never missed any payment.

I called the CS and the rep don't see any reason too, aside from my acct being tagged for restrain. She told me that she'll call out the assigned dept and make a call back to me to explain what happened.

Does anyone experienced the same?

Note: never use it for business too, all for personal. Really confused 👀

Possible Scam Calls BPI Black Platinum Rewards Mastercard

Hello! I received a call from BPI earlier (actually twice na siya tumatawag) na they’re going to replace my existing card (BPI Platinum Rewards Mastercard) to the black platinum rewards mastercard as per regulations daw ng BSP. My initial thought is baka possible scam to kasi I’ve never heard of Black platinum mastercard. Only the black signature visa.

Then while on the call, they’re informing me na hindi daw ma transfer yun existing points ko to my new card and letting me choose ano daw gusto ko i-convert to. I’m just listening to them the whole time and when they told me my total “inactive” points, that’s when I confirmed my hunch na possible scam nga. Ang layo sobrang ng points na sinasabi nila vs. what is reflected in my Vybe app. 😅

Ended the call immediately.

Is this a possible scam? Anyone experienced this lately?

Bank of Commerce Bank of Commerce (BOC) Credit Card Application Journey – Approved and Delivered! 💳

Post image
17 Upvotes

NOTE: This is just a random cc photo - this is not mine 😁

Initially, wala talaga akong plans na mag-apply for a Bank of Commerce (BOC) credit card. Pero nung nakita ko na mas mahaba yung spending period nila for the NAFFL promo compared to the usual promos ng ibang banks, I decided to give it a try. And thankfully, approved! 🎉

Ang alam ko, you have until February 28, 2027 to complete the required spending for the NAFFL promo, so hindi kailangang magmadali sa pag-spend. Mas mataas nga lang talaga yung spending requirement nila compared to other banks, kaya make sure na kaya siyang ma-meet through your usual expenses. Please double-check the exact deadline and promo terms to confirm your eligibility.

Naalala ko rin yung sinabi ng isang agent na nagpo-process ng BOC credit card applications na mataas daw ang approval rate nila lately. Based on my experience, mukhang worth considering din si BOC. Of course, hindi guaranteed ang approval, but maybe it's about time to give it a chance!

Here's my application timeline:

📌 October 6, 2026 – Decided to fill out the application form and sent it via email together with the required documents.

📌 October 8, 2026 – Wala pa rin akong natatanggap na email confirmation from BOC, so I decided to resend my application just to make sure na natanggap nila.

📌 October 12, 2026 – Finally received an email confirmation from BOC. They apologized for the late response due to the high volume of credit card application emails they were receiving.

📌 October 17, 2026 – Called their hotline to check the status of my application. The agent confirmed that I was approved on October 16, 2026! 🎉

Initially, I applied for the BOC World Mastercard, but I was granted the BOC Platinum Mastercard instead. Okay lang naman since the credit limit they granted was quite generous, almost on par with my reference credit card.

📌 October 20, 2026 – Called again to check the card status and delivery schedule, but the agent advised that no further details were available yet.

📌 October 21, 2026 – Since I had plenty of time that day, I decided to call again to check if there was any progress. Unfortunately, wala pa rin daw update sa system. I was placed on hold for more than 10 minutes, and when the agent returned, she told me that the delivery team had committed to delivering the card by Saturday, October 24.

📌 October 23, 2026 – Plot twist! 😂 Friday after lunch, the delivery rider arrived at my doorstep. However, I was told that the card had already been returned the previous day because the rider who attempted delivery couldn't find my address.

Upon checking the envelope, true enough, mali yung home address ko! The last two digits were switched. Good thing na yung rider na nag-deliver that day was someone who regularly delivers credit cards to my address and already knows me, kaya na-deliver pa rin sa akin yung card.

Imagine kung ibang rider yung nag-attempt ulit. Baka lalo pang na-delay yung delivery!

Overall, happy with the approval and glad I decided to apply! The longer NAFFL spending period was what convinced me to give BOC a chance, and the generous credit limit was a welcome surprise. The delivery experience was a bit of a roller coaster, though. Also, wala pala tong temporary card lock sa app. Medyo Jurassic lang yung mobile app nila, and card activation cannot be done via the app or via text; you need to call them. 😅

BDO Got scammed by a fake BDO credit limit increase link.

HUHUHUHUHU. I think I just learned an expensive lesson the hard way. 😭

Today, I fell for a phishing scam pretending to be a BDO credit card limit increase offer, and honestly, I blame myself for being too excited about the possibility of getting a higher credit limit.

I received a text with a link for a credit limit increase. Since I was excited about the offer, I clicked the link and filled out the form. It even asked for an OTP, which I entered because I thought it was part of the verification process for the CL increase.

Then BOOM. Three unauthorized transactions appeared on my credit card. AND THE TRANSACTIONS WERE IN EUROS. 😭😭😭

Grabe, the panic I felt when I realized what had happened.

I immediately opened the BDO app, locked my card, and called customer service to have it blocked. The representative advised me to file a dispute if the transactions pushed through.

But here's what worries me: I entered the OTP, and I was told that transactions authenticated with an OTP might not be reversible. I feel like I have little to no chance of getting the transactions reversed, and I'm honestly so stressed about it.

I know I made a mistake. I got too excited about a credit limit increase and didn't stop to verify whether the message was legitimate. I should have known better, but I guess scammers know exactly how to exploit things people are excited about.

For those who have experienced something similar:

  • Were you able to get your unauthorized transactions reversed, even if you entered an OTP on a phishing website?
  • What happened when you filed a dispute with BDO?
  • Is there anything else I should do aside from blocking the card and filing a dispute?

I'm still hoping there's a chance to recover the amount, but I'm also trying to prepare myself for the worst.

Please share your experiences or advice. And if you receive a text offering a credit limit increase, please verify it through BDO's official channels first. Don't make the same mistake I did. 😭

Lesson learned: Never let excitement override caution, especially when money and OTPs are involved.

HSBC HSBC Live+ Credit Limit Recycling

I got approved last Monday and received my HSBC Live+ card on October 23. This is my first regular CC since my previous card was a BPI Rewards SCC.

Medyo maliit yung credit limit ko, and I need to spend ₱60k within 60 days to waive the annual fee.
I swiped yesterday.

Need ba muna mag-post yung transaction before paying, or pwede bayaran agad kahit pending pa para ma-replenish yung limit and magamit ulit?

I heard na matagal magpost ng transaction ang hsbc unlike sa bpi ko mabilis lang.

Hi everyone, I received this email about being able to redeem a free 1 year Landers Executive membership as a member of BPI Preferred.

I currently already have the regular membership of Landers. Would anyone know what will be the arrangement if I redeem this offer?

*got my BPI Preferred because I have a BPI Visa Signature with 1M credit limit.

Also, it is ironic because Landers Executive is partnered with Chinabank credit card lol.
