October Update | 10/10 and other things

Parts and Pricing Update

  • Currently seeing low stocks on a lot of models in distro listings
  • Prices have also increased as expected, so much that RETAIL PRICES ARE LOWER THAN DISTRIBUTOR PRICES in the AI Affected parts
  • I can also confirm AMD GPUs have also risen, and retail prices have not been affected yet.
  • CXMT, while already having consumer products, also have prices similar to the other brands Link

As such I would highly suggest making full use of promotions if you are in need of parts. However, if not, then I suggest to prepare for emergencies instead (with El Nino, Oil Crises etc)

Regarding Promotions

  • Lazada/Shopee and likely other platforms give vouchers and discounts based on the user. Similar to dynamic pricing (but with vouchers
    • As such, prices below are what I can confirm, you may have larger or smaller discounts
  • I'll add what I can find, or if anyone comments good deals

Discussion What’s the most demanding game you use as a benchmark when building/upgrading a PC?

Post image
• Upvotes

Hey Ka-PC! Just curious lang kung paano kayo nagpaplan ng builds ninyo.

Let's say nasa research/canvas phase pa kayo and currently picking out parts, then you choose one specific game as your main baseline/benchmark,

if your target specs can run that game smoothly at your desired resolution/FPS, then that’s the build you go for.

What game would that be for you right now?

Also, a few side questions:

  1. What’s the most PC-demanding game you’ve played lately on your current rig? Did its performance make you realize it's time for an upgrade, or is your build still holding up fine?

  2. Do you still factor in heavy Ray Tracing / Path Tracing when choosing specs, or do you strictly prioritize raw rasterization performance per peso?

Just wanna hear out kung ano na majority preferences ng iba, if may changes considering the state of things... TIA

ADD: do you guys just keep it simple in making your criterias? Ano po ba what matters to you when you game? Is it the graphics? High FPS? that you can crank everything to ultra? Ultrawide gaming ba?

I got this on fb marketplace for around 2500, is it worth the price or not?

I search the model of this SSD and it has DRAM cache integrated into a single package (Package-on-Package).

Miscellaneous Is the AWP AID1500 PRO Compatible with the 1STPLAYER NGDP 850W PSU?

Hello, i’m new to PC building and have a question about UPS compatibility.

Would the AWP AID1500 PRO (1500VA/900W) work fine with the 1STPLAYER NGDP 850W 80+ Gold ATX 3.1 PSU?

I’ve read that some PSUs can have issues with simulated sine wave UPS units when running on battery, so I’m a bit worried about whether they’ll work well together (or damage my pc).

Has anyone tried this specific combination? Will I be fine using this UPS, or should I look for a pure sine wave model instead?

Thanks in advance!

Build Upgrade GPU Upgrade Recommendations

With the rising prices ng mga GPUs, target ko makapag upgrade before it happens again.
I initially was looking at the 6800xt / non xt but it has become increasingly hard to come by.
Other options that I'm looking at are the 7700xt and the 5060 8gb.

I only have a maximum budget of 25k. What do you guys recommend?

My current specs are the following

Ryzen 5 5600
RTX 2060 Super
16GB DDR4

Thank you!

Build Help Is the Ryzen 5 5800X3D still worth the upgrade?

I currently have a Ryzen 7 5700X paired with RX 9060 XT 16GB and 32GB RAM. Planning to buy the Ryzen 5 5800X3D maybe by Nov. or Dec. but unsure if it is worth it due to its price. I mostly play BF6, Apex Legends, CS2 and a couple of singleplayer games at 1080p.

Build Help Need help choosing a reliable PSU for my build (₱5,000–₱6,500 budget)

Hi everyone! I’m looking for advice on choosing a new PSU because I’m having trouble understanding the PSU Tier List and don’t want to risk buying an unreliable unit.

A little background: I was new to PC building back in 2022, and I used to plug my PC directly into the wall. One day, when I flipped the switch on my PSU, there was a flash of fire from the back of the PSU. I replaced the power cable with one of the same rating and learned my lesson.

Since then, I’ve been using an extension cord with electrical safety features. However, I’ve noticed that even when my PC is plugged in but the PSU switch is off, the PC’s lights sometimes briefly turn on or flicker.

I’ve also experienced random PC restarts, particularly while gaming, but I can’t remember exactly when they started or whether they began shortly after the PSU incident. I’m not sure if the PSU is the cause, but given what happened before, I’m concerned about its condition and would rather replace it with something reliable.

My current PC specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB
Motherboard: ASRock B450M Steel Legend
RAM: 32GB (4 × 8GB)
Current PSU: Gigabyte GP-P650B 650W 80+ Bronze

My budget for a replacement PSU is around ₱5,000–₱6,500

I’ve seen recommendations to use the PSU Tier List, but I’m having trouble navigating it and figuring out which models are actually worth buying.

Could you recommend a reliable PSU within my budget that would be suitable for my build? I’m prioritizing build quality, electrical safety, and long-term reliability over just wattage or efficiency ratings.

My CPU is fine since i change its thermals and reseated it countless times to check if it's the problem. My RAMs are fine too, tried different combinations and it still happens. Possibly it can be my MOBO but hopefully it's not.

Troubleshooting UPDATE: THE CULPRIT IS NOT PSU

A friend helped me check my pc. We updated cpu and gpu drivers, did a whole lot of stress test for both. He also did this 2-step RAM health check. All was good. We cant check if it's the PSU kasi hours and tinatagal bago mamatay so I decided to replace my psu. Seasonic 650w 80+ bronze. Still didn't work. Same issue same every thing. Also, I did not mention, EZ Debug led light ay steady red light sa cpu.

Is it possible na processor na ang sira? Or is there any way to know if processor na ang sira? Kasi I dont want to buy a motherboard if in the end, processor na pala ang sira

Budget mid-range PC. Budget 30-40k.

I'm just browsing the web with a lot of tabs and I’m only playing League. That's really the only game.

But my priority is really smooth browsing even with many tabs open. My old PC freezes with many tabs.

Please list everything I can buy or because I'll build from scratch. Thank you.

Yes, you read that right, nanalo po ako ng Mobo from a page called MS cyberarea. I'm trying to sell the MOBO somewhere but if walang kumuha. I thought magbuild nalang. Ito po yung parts na nakita ko na within the budget 60K but hopefully maka lessen pa since December is just around the corner.

Meron na akong peripherals which will came from my current PC 5yrs outdated btw, still works but I think it's time.

Any inputs will be appreciated.

Build Help S.O.S. LOOKING FOR TRUSTED PC BUILDING SHOP (around bats)

I have zero to no idea about PC components, etc.

The only thing I know is that I could get more for less if I were to buy a system unit than a laptop

So I'm looking for a trusted shop that can build me a pc on a budget ; my budget is around 20-30k (yan lang talaga ang kaya ng budget ko since I'm still a student and iniipon ko lang yung scholarship na natatangap ko)

As I searched for shops, tumataas ang trust issues ko kesyo sira yung ibibigay sa'yo or yung mga parts na gagamitin yung hindi mabenta etc. Since wala nga akong alam about pc parts medj nakakatakot bumili

That's why I'm asking here: ano yung alam nyo na trusted talaga na hindi masasayang ang pera ko

Thank you sa sasagot, preferably pala kung yung shop ay near or around Batangas

P.S. I'm not really looking for a high-end PC, just enough so I can play trend games and also do my work (I'm an aspiring creative). I'm currently using a 10th gen i3 laptop and I can't really do much with this, especially with games

Build Help WHAT SHOULD I GET FIRST? A GPU OR A CPU AND MOBO UPGRADE

Hello I'm just kinda of torned between getting a graphics card or upgrading my MOBO and CPU. I'm trying to weigh what's the reasonable purchase as of October 21st, 2026. Coz the prices are ridiculous right now.

PC SPECS:
CPU: I3-8100
RAM: 16GB (2400MHz/MTs) 1 stick
MOBO: GIGABYTE H310M H 2.0
PSU: E-machines ACER 550w Bronze 80+ Fully Modular

I mainly use my PC for work right now, I do some gaming here and there but obviously at it lowest Graphics, now this seems to be an easy answer, I keep a lot of tabs open for my work and I also share my screen for monitoring. (Let's just leave it at that)

I don't have an experience when buying a USED card, I don't trust the seller (maybe a bit harsh, but maybe that's just me ignorant when it come buying used stuff, specially electronics without having someone who has a skill to know whether is worth buying or not.)

I have a 15k budget but I could go a little higher, which for GPU I also browsed online and also PC seller website (EasyPC, PC worth, etc.) And I'm trying to get a RX 6600 GPU, and I will be looking at physical stores as well to see if they are still selling some.

As for MOBO and CPU I have a "Guy" where I purchased my rig right now, he also sells some PCs and I get to ask how much is the MOBO and The CPU Combine, kinda forgot what's the exact price, but it's also 15k as far as I remember. I'm also considering swapping my old MOBO and CPU for new one to him save up as few thousands as well.

I get to research as well the CPU with IGPUs the Ryzen 5600G and 5600GT.

So what do guys think, what should get first?

(Last one: I've considered saving up as well, for a new entire PC. That's around 30-40k)

(Newbie when it comes to PC so please be gentle. And new to this groupd never done this before so hope it's not awkward :>)

Build Help Gigabyte 9070 XT Gaming OC Hotspot Delta is a bit concerning

Post image
9 Upvotes

UPDATE: Thank you all for your responses regarding this! I decided to try undervolting the card again and these are the most stable settings on my use case:
-80mV, 2700MHz on VRAM Tuning, and -15% on the Power Limit.
As for Fan Curve, I don't really know what would to do with this, so I set it to the following:
20% at 30c, 35% at 40c, 75% at 80c, 85% at 95c, and 100% at 100c (Any suggestions for a much better fan curve are welcome).
Now my hotspot delta has dropped down back to 25-28c like how it was during the first few months of usage
Overall temps are back to 56-57c on core and 80c-86c on hotspot while lowering power consumption and also gaining a bit more FPS. These settings also improved my FPS 1% lows , especially on games where it doesnt use the GPU as much (NIKKE would have really bad frame rate consistency if there's alot of enemies on the screen but now it's smoother, Zenless Zone Zero has a really funky GPU usage most of the time causing me to have really bad 1% lows on this game, but now its buttery smooth).
I still want to try and change my case with bottom fans so that I can blow more air into the GPU to further reduce these temps. Thank you once again guys for your responses~

ORIGINAL POST:

After lurking in this sub for years now, Now is the time to post something here so heya reddit! Did anyone here have the Gigabyte 9070 XT Gaming OC graphics card? We bought mine 2 months ago back in August 1 at PC Worth and my hotspot delta has reached over 35-37 degrees (60c on core and 95c on hotspot after an hour of gaming). Everything is in stock settings, no modifications are done whatsoever (undervolted it only one time as a test, not to an extreme tho, the card wasnt also exactly stable as it caused me crashes so i just reverted it back to stock). Is there any way to address this hotspot delta by contacting their services to replace the paste inside with a TPM7950 or getting a similar model of the 9070 xt with a tpm7950 already applied on the core? Im just losing my mind with this temps lmao. Thank you in advance for any response!

Ok ba itong build? Are there parts I can replace to lower the cost without compromising the performance? Or are there better parts I can get that won't affect the price that much?

Usage: Heavy gaming (long hours) and moderate video editing (DaVinci Resolve)

Initial budget is 100K

Pasuggest naman po. Di naman talaga ako maalam sa PC building. Thank you so much!

I use programming and simple games, and I watch a lot of YouTube videos for tutorials almost every day. I like high-quality colors and want them to be reliable and not break easily—sometimes they'll last me five years, for example. I also play a very small amount of games
