Injuries/Lineup Hard truth, despite Sayin’s abysmal performance, his absence costs us the season.

Now I will say, I haven't seen enough to form a concrete opinion. But right now, I like him a lot. He seemed very confident, and I think Sayin is gone for the season to be honest. Luke will step up and I still think we are going to win the Big ten, Fahey and Smith are gonna run all over TTUN, and everyone else we play this season.

For the last 13 months, I have been telling people that Julian sayin has no pocket understanding. That he has no peripheral vision and he has no awareness. The offensive line was not the issue against Miami - he was.
Yes, when he is set he can throw a ball and often he throws a very nice ball. But this year he has not really thrown a nice ball and according to those who know it’s because the pressure has grown. Last year when the playbook was simpler there was less for him to process, but that’s not the case this year and he not only struggles with on the field, but he struggles with pre-snap.
Julian sayin can run, Julian sayin can throw, and sometimes he can do some nice things.
But what he cannot do is navigate the pocket, have understanding of where there is strength and weakness in the pocket, reset the pocket, and because of this he makes his offensive line a lot worse. And overall the offense is bad because of him.
I’m posting a simple drop back from the Nebraska quarterback. All he does is take the snap back. Take a couple steps forward, then move back again resetting the pocket, giving himself time to throw and ultimately making a bad throw because he’s not a very good thrower. But the thing is, Julian can’t do the first part. In the same situation, he would’ve run into a defender, or made a terrible throw. Unlike the Nebraska quarterback, who ultimately didn’t make a good pass, he was never really under pressure and helped his line hold their blocks.because he understands the pocket and has calm feet. Sayin doesn’t.
All of this is why Julian is never going to be an NFL quarterback, and quite frankly has maybe taken his last nap at Ohio State.

We don’t have bums that come to play school sitting on our bench. Our backups could probably start at over 80 schools. For every position. Not ideal but let’s not get gloom and doom after the performance we were seeing from Sayin. We just need Fahey/TSC to manage the game and use their legs. And for Arthur Smith to start to earn his paycheck with some creativity on O

We all seen it, begs the question if he was injured coming into today and it was under wraps

Don’t miss the forest for the trees: Ohio State versus Indiana is the best new rivalry in college football.
In a way, this is obvious: Saturday’s game was a top-five, bare-knuckle brawl between the past two national champions that went down to the final seconds.
But on the other hand, this is preposterous: The 100th all-time meeting ended the same way it almost always does — in an Ohio State victory. The Buckeyes are now 82-13-5 against the Hoosiers, including 30-2-1 in Bloomington, where Indiana hasn’t won since 1988.
It seems insulting to invoke the word “rivalry” when Ohio State has won more than 80 percent of the time in one of the most lopsided series in the history of college football. Except this is no longer the same sport it’s always been. And this is certainly not the same Indiana.

Defense played their hearts out. Glad the O has a bye week. It felt good seeing the look of defeat on all those Hoosier faces.

well i for one gotta say after today im not saying this Luke Fahey dude is the answer
but seems at least in big games where we need someone to play with a bit of testicular fortitude there really is nowhere to go but up.
now dont hit that downvote button just yet hear me out. sayin looks good on paper sure. especially last year. i get it. high comp percentage and undefeated start culminating in traveling up a bit more North on the map to serve the ole Tube Steak to the only rightful and deserving recipients of the aforementioned Tube Steak.
Worry not my fellow Buckeye brethren, you were not alone.
That intoxicating aroma of the giant steaming heaping dump we took on those pussies chest on their own field, a scent made all the more sweeter after all their cheating, the few years where they replaced that with The Ladies Man Leon Phelps coaching the team, and whatever other forms of shameless closet l grabass( some call it Footbaugh)we had to endure in between , that sweet smell was enough to get you drunk on the kid Sayin and his unlimited potential.
chances are you did see when we played indiana. or definitely when we played miami.
but it was hard to see it rationally due to still being shitface drunk off of the still highly potent fumes of THE turd we laid on the chests up north.
most chalked the whole thing up to a list of other things to place the blame .
Ryan Day.
The O Line.
Donald Trump.
It went unnoticed by many.
But even if you only allowed it to trouble you for only a moment or two, and then quickly clung on to the stats on paper to make you feel confident that this wasn't the case, a part of you prolly couldn't unsee it. but it just didn't track with the body of work on paper.
all you heard anyone say in regards to any criticism of the dude. "well he finished fifth in the heisman voting last year." "
"oh really? julian is mid huh? well, would someone that is mid finish fifth in heisman voting?"
blah blah muh-thurr-fuhhh-keng-BLAH
This all while Keinholz down in the Ville playing completely pantless every week.
Still, i'm overthinking they would say.
The offense is explosive they said.
Saban even stole a pair of the kids underwear if you believe the rumors to be true.
And saban doesn't just sniff just any ole gooch rag.
So i figure fuck it.
The dude abides.
then texas came. honeymoon over.
watching that game was like slamming your dick in a steel door if you are a buckeye fan.
and that's when unless you just pretended not to see it, you couldn't honestly say that we weren't seeing it.
and that is this truth.
you can't trust anyone to lead you into battle that has the face of one of the kids from home improvement .
no stubble.
not a single scratch on the kid.
no scars.
no blemishes.
perfectly exfoliated.
anne heche.
to put it simpler. the kids a pussy.
plays with no sakk.
straight ken doll.
we had a eunuch playing qb.
now you may say i don't know what im talking about and start spewing stats. especially last year.
lemme be the first to say FUCK LAST YEAR.
i woulda made at least third team all big ten throwing to smith and tate last year.
And while we are talking last year let's start there.
what defines one playing with sakk?
Let's compare some of probably the heaviest most exposed on field sakks the game has seen.
Michael Jordan, played with whole bag hanging out showed up when the moments were the biggest and called for the effort. No one would ever question His Royal Airness' supreme huevos.
LeBron James though quite successful and an amazing career.
many would not credit Bron with the same pair swinging down low.
Sakk is the ability to play your game the way you were meant to play it the moments it is meant to be played the most.
People respect the sakk.
Tom Brady played with huge sakk.
Big Papi, Troy Palamalu Josh Allen Larry Bird, the list goes on and on.
Not every great stat heavy, well touted player is on this list.
It is the exact reason why you proudly argue Payton Manning isn't the GOAT and in the same convo say you might let Eli Manning into the hall of fame.
Eli had a gargantuan sakk.
Peyton as we all saw, had baby beans.
People respect the sakk.
Just ask Kirk Gibson.
Or Curt Schilling. Or Aaron Rodgers, back when he still had Sakk, or Brett Favre.
Even Lance Armstrong to some degree.
Sure there were discrepancies but the bag must not be challenged.
i mean for ffs his man pouch was down a player and on the penalty kill for a large amount of his time.
still no one was touring france like lance. not even the french.
The measure of how much one man's proverbial large bulbous floppy satchel falling out in big game moments as he leads his team to glory consistently with performances that are described as all heart, or pure guts is absolutely unmatchable in all of sports.
they respect the sakk.
put that on a bowl of wheaties.
that being said, if you have been watching the bucks for the past two years with Sayin at qb, before today, deep down if you really were a student of the game and understood the body language of a player who sakk truly hangs lowest in the moments u need him the most a true leader and winner, you had begun to truly doubt if this kid Sayin's lil milk duds ever have dropped yet.
And if you then watched the Indiana game today, and seen what i and i'm sure the rest of us saw, there can really be no more doubt.
That this Mary Lou Retton stunt double that we have been expecting to lead our beloved Buckeyes to glory, is without the marbles.
Sans Cajones.
Knowimsayinnn?
This kid either by birth or by being told he was that good too many times or who knows why, is no longer a Bruce Jenner who we all assumed him to be.
it's actually Catelyn under center for the Scarlet and Gray.
He's a pussy when the pressure is on. Soft .
No Sakk.
yeah i said it.
Absolute bare wood flooring down there.
And if you do your homework you will have a hard time disagreeing with me.
Just watch him in every big game he's played.
Idc how you're to spin it he looks shook.
of course you will be quick to say the touchdown to jeremiah today on 4th down.
bad throw good catch.
watch the highlights.
he easily cost us at least five crucial possible game impacting first downs by throwing either behind in front under or over his receivers when they are wide the fuck open.
How about he's the only dude i've seen defend his own pass
when they were down inside the red zone i believe it was at the end of the second half and he rolled out to his right and had the te wide open for like a five yard shot for the th and he gets happy feet from apparently a fart or something bcuz no one was on him yet and he throws the ball 3 yards short. out of five.
Ryan Day having struggled with the size of his beans for quite sometime knows one of his own kind.
why do you think we run the ball in the red zone to a point where it literally takes small increments of time off your life from the imploding anger inside you as you yell out damnit day you castrated pusscake, why won't you fucking passsssss?
Defense won the Indiana game.
A more apt representation would be the defenses collective Sakk
Also Jeremiah overcoming six man coverage to grab a few big catches.
That man is just two big fleshy beach balls in a duffle bag of skin wearing a helmet with wings on his jersey.
if i was jeremiah i would make sayin raise his hand when he wanted to talk in the huddle.
ffs dudes got one job. just throw to smith.
and that's good for us because he can't throw to anyone else.
i mean what kind of pussy ,scary ass ,tunnel vision having, cyborg automaton has one receiver with half the state of Indiana covering him and still can't find another open receiver most of the game.
the dude has one good play on his repertoire. pass to smith.
he's like the derek zoolander of college football.
The dude freezes like he just got flashed with the thing from the Men In Black Movies.
now don't get me wrong, fahey looking as freaked out as if someone hiked him an aborted fetus every snap he played wasn't the best look either.
but sometimes underneath them butterflies is a pair of unrealized heavy meaty knee knockers ready to take us to the promised land.
i mean fuck who knows right?
i mean Cardale Jones was paralyzed from the neck up wasn't he? and we turned out just fine.

Any ideas why Day won't put St. Clair into action? He's older, bigger, can run well and I haven't seen a reason he can't throw the ball well. Why Fahey of him?

Am I the only person who felt like Sandy put a mark on Sayin? Not like “make things uncomfortable for the QB” or “keep pressure on him so we can limit Smith,” but it seriously looked (to me) like their defense was going after Sayin with the intent to hurt/injure him. When they hit him, it was hard. When he went down with that injury, it certainly looked like the guy wrapped him up, grabbed his shoulder pads pushed him away from his body, and drove him harder into the ground before landing on him.
I don’t want to go so far as to say they were coached to injure him, but it sure felt like their intent was not to tackle so much as to put a hurt on him.
Just my take, anyone else?
PS - not a pretty win by any means. OSU didn’t win so much as IU lost it for themselves.

You ever go to the casino, win $3k and continue to gamble. Then leave only up $1500 and walk out feeling like you lost?
Thats exactly how I feel right now.

Took him a while there to announce the starter. Seeing how well Kienholz has played at Louisville, I guess he wasn’t lying.
r/OhioStateFootball • u/Short_Pattern_4184 • 21h ago
He did not even sniff the D end on most plays and literally lead to the injury of Julian sayin. I know he’s back from injury but holy shit.
r/OhioStateFootball • u/AdministrationNo283 • 13h ago
All I will say is I am grateful for the upcoming bye week. On a designed screen Fahey threw the ball and hit one of his linemen in the back. He threw a ball out of bounds and a dirt ball at a WR’s feet. Based on his performance I am not confident he can perform better than Lincoln Keinholtz did in that bowl game.

Why do our qb #2's looked completely lost when their # is called. Its unacceptable.
r/OhioStateFootball • u/Jayce86 • 14h ago
The offensive line is absolutely trash. I’m not even sure that any of these dudes would be starters on any other major team. It leads directly to point 2.
The running game is buns. It has zero punch, and no speed. Most of this goes in the line, but whenever one of the RB break free they ALWAYS get chased down.
The offense as a whole stalls if JJ gets locked down. A few flashes from other guys, but someone HAS to be open if they’re sticking 2-3 guys on Smith.
Isn’t Smith supposed to be generational? Anytime he gets double teamed, it feels like he doesn’t try as hard as he does when single covered, or in zone.
QB play is underwhelming, even when Sayin is playing. But the backup situation? That thing is a travesty.
Lack of pass rush. Seriously…where’s the pass rush? Just give every QB they play all day to throw.
Seriously though, how have they gotten this far?

You guys remember the old big ten? I know it's a stupid question, the expansion was only 2 years ago. I just remember when people joked about it being a conference consisting of a king, a queen, their jester and all their peasants. Ohio State is the only team who kept their prestige. It looks like all the big ten power has somewhat balanced and shifted, heading everywhere except Ann Arbor lol
