US Registered Nurse declining a deposition

The hospital I work for is being sued for malpractice. I’m not named in the lawsuit, but I was the primary nurse for the mother during labor and also cared for the baby before transfer.
I met with the hospital’s attorney to review my charting, but we never finished our meeting. Months later they’re requesting dates for a deposition for the plaintiff in November. I initially provided dates but later canceled them.
I have not been subpoenaed, and honestly, I want to avoid a deposition if possible. I absolutely do not want to go. This situation is taking a huge emotional toll on me. I’m afraid to ask administration about my options because I don’t want to jeopardize my job.
Can I be fired for refusing to cooperate with a deposition if I’m not named in the lawsuit and haven’t been subpoenaed? Has anyone ever declined a deposition in a similar situation? I’d appreciate any advice, especially from nurses who have been through this.

hi everyone. i recently just graduate with my BSN about a year ago and would like to move on to an MSN but without a cert yet as i just started my career but would like the option to move into either a more clinical role later on or into more leadership roles. what do we think of these schools for any general MSN programs? i know there are not many but if possible, just advancing education before i make a full committment to specializations

Hi nurses! Who here has relocated to a different state, what state, and are you treated better at the new state vs where you were? Thanks!
