Working in Norway How difficult is it to get a engineering job in Norway in 2026/2027
This is maybe just for a conversation about looking for a job in Norway. Here is my situation: I am from China. I was an embedded systems engineer working with software/firmware/hardware development for 5 years at one of the world's biggest electronics companies. Now I'm in the last year of my PhD in Norway and have been looking for my next job here for more than 6 months.
I have applied to around 70 positions now. The positions I applied for were very aligned with my experience and skills (working language is English), and I prepared my CV and cover letter carefully for each of them. But sadly there were only 3 of them gave me a chance to have an interview. Most, Most, Most of them had nothing to update except for "we appreciate but unfortunately...". Sometimes I felt frustrated and disrespected when those perfectly matched positions became silent and then sent a template refusal letter.
How do you guys feel when you are tortured by job hunting?
PS: I have PR now, so the VISA is not a problem, and I speak a little Norwegian and would like to learn more. (But indeed, a little is not enough, and this language is very hard for an Asian mouth 🤔 )
