I slid out. What caused it?
Just got my motorcycle license last week and have ridden less than a handful of times. So I was borrowing my dad's 2023 Yamaha delight and went down at a small roundabout. I'm upset because | bought it for him and it was in perfect condition. Now has some damage to the paint.
I made it just about past the first quarter than the back end just slid out from underneath. At first I thought it was because I was going a bit too fast (25-30khp maybe? Bike only slide about 3m away from where I landed) and leant too much. It honestly didn't feel like I did that tight of a turn.
Next day I went to check the tyre pressures and found both the front and back were only about 10psi instead of 25psi. Chances that was the cause or both or even something on the road?
Edit: front tyres should be 25psi and rear is suppose to be 29psi.

Tips for a beginner rider
So guys i just bought my first bike( KTM Adv 250) i am a beginner rider, before this i used to ride my brother’s Yamaha r15. I am a bit under confident in my riding skills, if you guys have any tips to work on for future.
And wanna know was my decision okey or not for buying the bike.
My thought process for buying was i wanted a bike with an upright posture (not like r15) and wanted some comfort on the space tech roads and features to like Quickshifter+ mainly cause it has auto blipper.
Could have bought duke 250 but wanted something different.

If I get a cruiser for my first bike can I go up in cc
My plan for my first bike was to get a sports bike and I’m still thinking about it but I am liking the cruisers a bit more, I have found some nice ones but some of them are around 750cc and I know that’s not recommended for a beginner, I also know it will handle a bit different. Just need some advice! Thank you !

Got my approval for my first proper motorcycle helmet
About 8 months riding a Ninja 400 now, still in the $150 helmet I grabbed when I got my license. It's loud on the highway and the visor fogs every cold morning. I've put aside around $600, and every thread I read points at Shoei or Arai, so I'm not sure i should save more or get one

Confidence kills you in this hobby
Took an advanced class this weekend that actually was pretty neat. There were 4 of us and one guy was admittedly very good despite only having 6 months experience. The riding coach gave him a few compliments, and then on the next slow speed maneuvers skill this guy getting really confident and goes at it at 15-20mph. Tire gets caught in a cone while he’s leaned over going at the speed…. and down he went busting his lip open.
Gotta watch out for that confidence that kicks in after a few months. Most of that is just luck and your brain telling you you’re fine just because you’re good at riding in a straight line.
Edit: to be fair a better word would be OVERCONFIDENCE

Should a Yamaha super tenere 750 be my first "real" bike?

Scared to ride? Have a plan.
I have no affiliation with Chase but this video sure does tick a lot of boxes for me:

I have a few miles “under my belt” but will using this nevertheless. I am picking up a new bike this weekend. Almost doesn’t seem real.

helmets and face piercings
hi! Im looking to get into motorcycle riding and one of my biggest concerns is my face piercings and the helmet. For context, I have a good amount of mouth piercings (snakebites, central labret, angel fangs, dahlias, cheeks.) does anyone on this thread know someone who may have any of these or know how helmets hug the face in those areas? The nearest cyclegear to me is 2 hours and I plan to go next week to see how things may fit me. If I need to take them out I would, but Id rather not. Thank you!!!

About to do my CBT (UK) and I need help, especially with this maxi scooter
Okay, hi! So I have a Neco Alexone 125 Maxi Scooter. That thing weights 130KG, it's heavy. I've been on it a few times around my house but I feel so unstable on it. It's fine in straight lines but whenever you need to take a corner or do a U turn, it feels like hell. I am aware, this is most likely user error, but I'd appreciate some feedback(?) if possible please.
90 degree street corners: Sometimes I can corner, sometimes I can't. What am I suppose to do? Keep the throttle on? Take the throttle off and coast, then put it back on? I almost fall off the thing when I have to do a corner and if I keep the throttle engaged, I still almost fall off and go "too far" into the corner.
U turns: Scary! I've tried using my "lean" and moving the handle bars. But again, at low speeds, I always put my foot down to steady myself because I just can't do it.
At low speeds, are maxi scooters more difficult than regular scooters in things that are not straight lines?
Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope. TYIA

Glasses getting fogged up
So I have a full face helmet with vents that let air in, my visor also has a pin lock fitted and I usually keep the visor up anyways. However I have prescribed glasses under which get fogged up when it's raining and I end up having to sip them every 5 minutes. I have tried a bunch of those anti fog sprays but it only helps for the first 20 m before just giving up.
Any solutions?

Slope into parking lot
I’ve been wanting to ride my bike to work for a while, but one thing has worried me. There’s a pretty steep slope part that leads into the parking lot. Not a road, but like a little ramp. It feels pretty steep every time I drive into the parking lot in my car, so I was worried about that with my bike. It’s a tight turn as well. Do I need to keep anything in mind when getting into work? Sorry if I have a bad description

Took my msf course this weekend …
I passed! the whole weekend was pretty fun and very informative. i signed up for classes with my boyfriend, but we ended up getting split into two groups (which we didn’t mind anyway).
i was a little more nervous as a female and mostly males, but the instructors were so encouraging and nice. i passed the exam (4 wrong) and i got 5 points on the road test, (i ran over one cone on the u-turn).
i will say, the weekend was fun but it got really somber and serious when the actual test was happening. i was so nervous i didn’t pass because of minor small mistakes, i was so close to hitting the cones on the swerve test.
i’m here to say, you can do it! i only have been riding a week maybe and got some practice before the course. a lot of the people in class were nice and it was a huge reminder of being confident but also humble and safe. there was a son and dad who took the class together and the dad took a bad spill during one of the exercises (the dad had thousands of miles under his belt on a motorcycle) and thankfully he was okay, but he said it humbled him and it’s a reminder that the fundamentals are so important. he grabbed the front break into a curve way too hard.
overall, i loved the course, i do have some critiques on it. i think it would have been helpful to let each person have some time on the motorcycle just to circle around and kind of just drive the motorcycle not in an exercise. i feel like that would help build confidence. we never got above 2nd gear, and we didn’t really cover downshifting.
i do think it’s completely wild how basic the course is, it builds fundamentals but wow, it does not prepare you for street driving, like fast speeds above 25 mph.
i’m looking forward to trying to sign up for the BRC2 and they also offer an advanced driver course as well.

If you’re looking to practice in a parking lot, but you live on a busy road without a drive way, how do you get to the parking lot?
Ok so I’m asking this and I’m not afraid to sound dumb. I live in an urban area that has frequent traffic due to a high school down the block. I need to practice either really early in the morning or very late at night just to be comfortable without a lot of cars whizzing around. Even though this is a neighborhood, people treat it like a main road. The idea of jumping straight into joining traffic to get to a good parking lot sounds extremely ambitious and unsafe as a new rider.
For those in similar conditions, what did/do you do to get you and the bike to a safe lot for simple practice? Do you just ride it over there? Do you have a friend that rides it for you? Do you use a truck to transport it? I need tips so I don’t try something outside of my skill level!

Alpinestars allstars tech air -3 vs klim ai-1 airbag vest opinions
Im on the fence between these 2? Klim is a little cheaper but has a subscription like $12 a month? Anyone have any experience with these pros and cons?
