Question!

Hey all, my phone does not have NFC & I want to somehow access afterpay's virtual card which would usually be put onto Google wallet via the app. Any devices which are used as a small nfc wallet or something? Thanks 🙏

We made a bag charm with an NFC tag. It's hard to build all the features in, so we let users pick and write in the function—like a YouTube video, a website link, or a song. Still, it doesn't feel very useful. What's the best use for an NFC tag in a bag charm? Any good ideas?

Is there a way to see how many times a tag has been scanned without a unique URL?

is there a way to see how many times a tag has been scanned? i know there is with a URL but that's not how id be using the tags so im curious if there's a work around. ive looked at NFCcool and thats still URL based.

Basically i work in at a school and want to put NFC tags in classrooms so the teachers can tap to call IT. My boss has agreed to a small test program if at the end of the semester i can prove people have been using it. i suppose i could have the tag open a webpage that just holds the phone number but that feels a little clunky when i could just have the tag load the phone number and the person presses call.

open to any suggestions and thanks in advance!

NTAG215 working bad with iphones

Hi, I am wondering what type of NFC tag do you use for keychains? I tried to make NFC keychains with NTAG215 25mm and it worked great on samsung and couple other android devices but when I tried it with iphone the placement of the keychain had to be very specific and it took quite some time before the NFC tag loaded on the iPhone?

I read that Iphones have weaker NFC technology but I saw videos of people using probably same size chip in keychains and having no problems with iphones? Any tips please? Maybe I bought some low quality chips?

Music device like mini vinyl record player

Hi everyone,

I am looking for a solution where I have a miniature device (it can look like a record player or a radio or a cassette player) and it plays a few tracks without any phone or bluetooth.

Miniature Vinyl record player exist for example by Zuru Mini. But I can only get the vinyls they produce. On Etsy there are ppl who create something similar that's costumizable (1 player, 9 songs) but I want more tracks and I want to costumize them myself (putting my old childhood audiobooks on it for example).

Now I found this NFC technology. Do you think that it's possible to DIY something like that? I am completely new to this. But could I for example buy one of those costumizable Vinyls and do it myself? Can I maybe then play them with a bought miniature record player? For example the Mini Verse records don't work with the Zuru record player because they are from another brand :/ how would I make it work?

I have no idea about programming. Is that part hard or super easy fone with an app? 😅

I really have no idea, please enlighten me.

Thank you so much for any helpful answer! 🙏

I am looking for a Battery-powered NFC/RFID wall reader for housekeeping time tracking. Any reccomendations?

We manage a small housekeeping team of around 10 cleaners working across hotels and holiday homes in Greece.

We’ve built a web platform that tracks cleaning time per room. Cleaners currently scan room QR codes with their phones, but using personal phones throughout a busy working day has been a struggle. We’re looking for a simpler hardware solution.

Our ideal workflow will be:

  • Each cleaner carries a personal NFC card.
  • A reader is mounted outside each room.
  • They tap once when starting and again when finishing.
  • Records identify the cleaner, room and timestamp, then reach our reporting platform.

Thanks in advance!

Seeker NFC Controller Question

Which NFC controller is in the Solana Seeker?

I'm thinking of buying a Seeker for dev work on a payment app I've been building for about a year. I can't find the NFC controller listed in any spec sheet or teardown. Is it ST, NXP or something else?

If you have one, could you run these and share the output?

adb shell dumpsys nfc

adb shell ls /vendor/etc | grep -i nfc

adb shell pm list features | grep nfc

For reference, the Pixel 8 and 9 use the STMicro ST54L, a combined NFC controller and secure element. I haven't seen the Pixel 10's chip confirmed. Thanks

Is it possible to clone an NSP Securities NFC access card to my phone, or get a cheap alternative?

Hi everyone,

I live in accommodation that uses an NFC access card or fob supplied through a company called NSP Securities. I’m wondering whether it’s possible to duplicate the credential or use my phone instead of carrying the physical card.

I’m looking for the cheapest and most practical solution, and I’d appreciate advice from anyone familiar with NFC technology or access-control systems.

A few questions:

- Is it technically possible to copy this type of NFC card or fob?

- Can it be added to an Android phone or iPhone and used to unlock the same doors?

- What information would I need to identify the card type and check compatibility?

- If copying it isn’t possible, are there any affordable alternatives, such as an authorised spare fob or card?

- Has anyone dealt with an NSP Securities access-control system before?

I’m happy to use an authorised solution through the accommodation provider if necessary. I’d just like to understand what’s technically feasible before spending money on equipment or apps.

If you have experience with NFC cards, RFID access systems, or mobile access credentials, I’d really appreciate your advice. Thanks!

Programming contactless payment on key chain

Post image
2 Upvotes

So as the header already reads I’m trying to figure out how I could program an NFC to add ie a credit card or an Oyster/Travel card onto a physical key chain?

I have seen that in Japan you can get the T-Money Sanrio Key Rings (see picture) and I was curious to see if I can create something like it for myself.

I have seen videos here and there where people have done it but I was wondering if there are any Tutorials out there on how to do it.

I’m pretty crafty so I am happy to create my own key ring and I have vaguely read that some have a built in disable feature. That would obviously be a nice to have, especially if it’s not my Oyster card linked but my CC however, this is no priority.

If anyone can point me in the right direction or give me helpful tips on do’s and don’ts that would be massively appreciated. Thanks!

I built a free Google Review Link Generator for NFC card sellers

Post image
3 Upvotes

I’ve been working on a free tool for people who sell NFC review cards, Google review plaques, or similar products for local businesses.

It lets you search for a business and generate its direct Google review link, ready to use with an NFC card or share online.

The tool is free to use, and I’d love to hear feedback from people in this space.

Give it a try: https://vizirank.online/
What features would make a tool like this more useful for NFC review card sellers?

Anyone know a cheap NFC reader/writer for Android?

Hey guys! I'm looking for a cheap NFC reader/writer that works with Android. I want to experiment with NFC cards, but the devices I've found so far seem a bit expensive.

Does anyone know any good budget options? I'd mainly use it to read and write NFC cards for small projects. I'm trying to keep the cost as low as possible, so any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Advice

Hello everyone.

We have a new access card in our company with two chips. I assume one is RFID, which I could and have already conned to my keychain, but the other is NFC, which is not possible to copy.

Am I right the NFC chip is the "more black one" in the picture with the round coil? I want to make the card smaller and put it on my keys - if I am right with my assumption, I can clip just the round coil with the chipset and put it on my keys. If it is the other way around and the NFC coil is the square one, I am out of luck.

Hope it's understandable. Thak you 🙏

P.S. yes, it's an x-ray image of our card.

Trouble getting smart card reader to connect/work on a Toughbook CF-33 w/ Win 11 Pro

I recently got a Toughbook CF-33 and it has a built-in contactless smart card reader. From what i have read on the toughbook subs and forums, the windows 11 native drivers work just fine - which are installed (checked for updates, too) - Microsoft Usbccid Smartcard Reader (WUDF) driver.

The hardware is apparently:

  • Model Number: CF-WSC332 (or CFWNF332)
  • Type: 13.56MHz Contactless Smart Card / RFID Reader (supporting ISO 14443 A/B and ISO 18092 standards)

When i open up NFC Tools in the Information tab I get the message Waiting for an NFC tag. When I hold a bank card or my work ID up to the reader, windows plays the same chime when a USB device is plugged in a recognized...but the software does nothing. When I move the card away from the reader, it is the same chime as when you un-plug a USB device.

What shall i do, and are there any easily found more basic chips that i can use other than the two aforementioned ones? I was wondering if I could get an app on my android phone for like NFC a contact card or something non encrypted to see if that is my issue.

What are your thoughts?

Combining Mifare Classic Tags?

Hi, I have two distinct Mifare Classic badges to enter my building, and was wondering if I could write both to a single tag.

Would writing sectors 1 through 4 of badge A in their initial positions, and sectors 1 through 4 of badge B on sectors 5 to 8 on badge C work?

Hello everyone, i want to host my contact details to share in a event but i am struggling with adding it to nfc tag.

As you all know generally iphone asks to download file first but i don’t want to engage in all unnecessary steps. There are few old reddit posts but they are not relevant now as google drive and drop box is not working for me or i am not able to set it properly.
