Picked up my first can today. Obligatory car pic. What do I need to know?
Picked up a shiv to suppress my vp9 and occasionally sub2000. Can’t find a ton of information from SAW on maintenance. How should I clean it and how often? Anything else to know about this chode?

Product Question 🧰 Dumb Questions.
Okay so I have my pistol can (Mojave 9).
Do you guys shoot with heat resistant gloves so you can torque down the can after a few mags?
Do I just clean it as I would any other gun(Breakfree CLP)? Or are there some better products to use?
How the hell do I transport it after firing? That thing has to be hotter than hell and would melt any carrying case that I have.
Thank you for any responses. Please be patient, I probably am on the spectrum

Plan B versus Dual-Lok
I have been eyeing cans from the company that created Dual-Lok. I have the opportunity to get the HRT-556 AM, Optimus 6 AM, Optimus 7 AM, and maybe another at an amazing deal.
I am invested in Plan B mounts already for 5.56, but I have not converted my AR-10s yet to any specific QD/QA type.
What are your experiences if you have both? I am aware DL adds a little weight and length, but the AR-15s these would be on are no longer than 12.5. The AR-10s are long anyway, but will mostly be use on a bipod.
Edit: Across most DL cans compared to HUB, DL adds approximately 3/4" and 1 ounce is a titanium HUB mount is used on the HUB can. Yes, muzzle device weights will vary slightly.

"Walther PPK. 7.65 mil with a delivery like a brick through a plate-glass window. Takes a Brausch silencer, with little reduction in muzzle velocity. "
Had a chance to film a proper shoot (pun intended) with the Walther PPK SD. I have it equipped with the low profile thread protector from @oldglorygunsandammo so I can keep the more traditional muzzle silhouette when not in seaky mode!
Very amusing gun, and definitely scratches the Bond itch!

Host Suggestions 👻 Best way to make a Sig P226 a Suppressor Host?
I want it to be optics cut but I dont think sig makes an optics cut 226 with a threaded barrel right now. Actually, I'm not sure if they currently catalog any 226 with a threaded barrel. I know they make threaded barrels for it though. As does SilencerCo. Is a p226 Elite and a sig threaded barrel good to go? The Elite is the model I am leaning towards unless somebody suggests something else.
Basically how do I get that classic p226 that everybody says is the S+ tier suppressor host?
TIA

Whoops 💥 Unga Bunga Strikes Again
Just bought an Osprey 2.0 and the spring retainer cap and the piston refused to play nicely. I tried everything to get the spring retainer cap to slide down the piston but eventually got frustrated and well...

Product Question 🧰 Looking for a 5/8x24 Plan B muzzle brake for 50/50 suppressed and non-suppressed shooting
I want to get a 30 cal suppressor for my Scar 17, probably a Tisha. I plan to shoot this gun unsuppressed rather often. I see a lot of recommendations for muzzle brakes for when you plan on shooting suppressed 99% of the time that act as a sacrificial baffle, but they don't necessarily translate well to unsuppressed shooting.
Mainly, I want a brake that has a closed bottom portion as to not kick up as much dirt prone. Those cherry bomb/KAC Radial brake styles are not what I'm looking for. And I'd LOVE a Rearden DPB but those things are professionally out of stock and have been for months, and I'm sort of tired of waiting for a restock. Any other good alternatives here?

🥳 Happy Stamp Day 🎁 Still need stamps in NC but at least they get approved quickly
3 day approval on my OCL polonium K, looking forward to trying it out tomorrow.
Direct threaded for now but keeping an eye out for a plan b mount setup since I also have a 10.5” upper I want to be able to use this on

Will ruger bring back the charger as an sbr?
I used to want a charger with a folding brace but missed my chance before they went out of production and the price skyrocketed. Does anyone think they’ll bring it back, possibly as an sbr, given the new state of the nfa? I’m sure a lot of companies are probably going to release new sbr’s and sbs’s in response. Besides this sub, what’s a good place to keep track of new nfa firearms being released?

Discussion Does flow-through design matters that much with Surefire OBC? Because if not, I'll focus more on sound reduction and signature

Mount Questions 🔩 3D printing threads? (OnShape)
A question for those who have experience 3D printing cans: What is the best method for applying or designing threads for my design?
I know that 3D printing threads isn't the easiest (especially fine threads like 1/2x28 and printing with a .6 nozzle) I have thought about just buying brass thread inserts. Is this the way? I haven't tried any method yet.
Edit: I am planning on making out of pa6 cf
For mods: I am not offering nor will give out printing files. I am just here for guidance. I am following all national and state laws.

Since we can make suppressors now
How would someone go about turning a Midwest Industries or a Soviet Arms Alpha Blast Diverter into a suppressor?

Should I SBR this… thing?
10/22 build I did years ago. Brownells charger receiver, BX trigger, form 1 can, FAB defense stock which fits Mossberg 500 grips so I put a birds head on it and have this funky mares leg 22. I can put a Mossberg shoulder stock on it for cheap. Now that I have another 22 pistol suppressor host I got in a trade I’m wondering if I should SBR or just keep it funky.
Rearden atlas XL question
Hi. Can someone measure the length and max width of hex portion of it ?
Can't find any info on the web and need to verify if it fits inside my hanguard and how deep will it sit.

First Suppressor Questions
After putting together my first ar15 earlier this year I’m looking at getting my first suppressor. Host is a 14.5 DD RIS III upper, super 42 & H2, microbest DLC+ BCG, currently ejecting at 4 o’clock consistently. I’m looking for a 5.56 can under $700 but with having to buy a mounting systems also the lower cost the better.
If I were to get a traditional suppressor such as: LPM Duty, Polo K, Exigent LE556. How much tuning should I expect to do? Would a Ez-tune gas tube or H3 cover it? Mainly looking into these for the lower cost but if I’m gonna have to pump money into tuning it defeats that.
Do traditional suppressors with changeable end caps like Stacy’s Mom and Canik Void actually help with back pressure? I’ve seen lots of mixed reviews on this.
All the mentioned cans come with direct thread mount which I’d run until I can upgrade to plan B.
The highest priced can I’ve considered is the Rhino x. Which does not come with a direct thread mount, and per there website has a solid 10 week lead time.
I feel like I’ve read most the posts from the last year or two on the sub for suppressors in this price range and might just have analysis paralysis with the amount of suppressors on the market. If anyone could help give me some guidance on places to do more research or recommendations for cans that’d be great. Thanks
