LeBron’s 2018 finals run is the single greatest achievement in NBA history
The Cavaliers were the 29th best defense and the 5th best offense.
LeBron James was primary scorer, playmaker, defender and rebounder, averaging the most minutes across the entire league at 33.
He came 2nd in MVP voting, averaging 28 9 9 on 60 36 73 shooting splits.
He lead the playoffs in both minutes and scoring, averaging 34 9 9 on 60 34 75 splits.
The Cavs ended with 50 wins, simply from LeBron’s excellence.
They beat the 5th seeded Pacers in 7, LeBron lead in 4 major counting stats.
They swept the 1st seeded Raptors in 4, LeBron lead in 3 major counting stats. He outscored both top scorers on the Raptors combined.
They beat the 2nd seeded Celtics in 7, LeBron lead in 3 major counting stats.
Once reaching the finals, he proceeded to have the single highest gamescore finals game in NBA history.
After injuring his hand post-game in a fit of anger he was swept.
I don’t think it’s possible for any other player to achieve anything close to this. Nor will any player in the future.
3peats have been done, scoring 50 a night will never be allowed, 11 rings took over a decade.
Something like this run will always be possible, yet nobody will ever achieve it. That for me is why LeBron is the Goat

LeBron James teammates have got to be so tired of this. For starters, I'd say Joel Embiid and his health are the most important piece to this Sixers team. The Jaylen Brown acquisition has hardly received any attention since LeBron signed. Tyrese Maxey has been all but ignored as well.

Ik its pre-season but there is a reason why ESPN put Nikola Jokić as the #1 player:

The 76ers suck and are a fake juggernaut team. Can’t hide behind the “preseason” excuse forever especially since we just saw them get punked by Boston’s backup squad while all their starters played.

Was 2004 KG the best power forward ever?
Kevin Garnett’s 2003-2004 MVP season:
• 24.2 PPG
• 13.9 RPG (rebound title)
• 5 APG
• 1.5 SPG
• 2.2 BPG
• MVP
• 1st Team All-NBA
• 1st Team All-Defense
• All-Star
• Played all 82 games
Minnesota KG was a problem.

Hot Take: a great layup is as good, if not better than a great dunk.

No one had Hakeem over Kobe back in the 2000s and 2010s. If you actually have Hakeem over Kobe then you simply didn’t watch Kobe play.

What player would have the biggest legacy jump with a ring/fMVP this season?
Jokic with a 2nd ring/fMVP makes a real good case for top-15.
Curry with that roster has a great case for surpassing Kobe/Duncan/Shaq
SGA secures a spot on SG Mount Rushmore.
Giannis could be in that Hakeem range with a win on the Heat.
Brunson going back to back makes for interesting conversations about his place amount guards who have higher regular season accolades but no fMVPs (Iverson, Kidd)
Luka escapes the Harden Label and can start having a case among top-10 guards ever.
Bron would just get more fuel for GOAT arguments.
for the younger guys (Bennett, Wemby, Cade$, I think it just puts them into top-10 at position conversations but don't necessarily automatically puts them there.
what yall think?

After being clowned on all off-season the Celtics dominate preseason in every major category.
r/NBATalk • u/Few_Maize_127 • 19h ago
Same way Kyrie was the MVP of the 2016 finals then huh? Or AD in the bubble? Bet Bron won’t agree with that
Lebron just trying to cause tension so Knicks get rattled or OG leaves the Knicks so Lebron can have easier competition in the east. As per usual

if the celtics win this game, then they have claim to the best bench in the league
this team is fielding a bunch of guys that will never sniff the starting lineup against a bunch of all stars and hall of famers with multiple rings and they are doing okay. there is no excuse for the sixers doing this poorly even in the preseason

My attempt to convince LeBron haters that the bubble ring counts.
My first two questions to you are, if it’s not real then why was every team competing for the same trophy? If any other team won would it be any less real?
Mental and Psychological Toll: LeBron James described the bubble as "mental warfare" and the most challenging thing of his career, citing months of isolation away from family in Disney World hotel rooms.
Loss of Advantages: The Lakers earned the top seed in the Western Conference (52–19) and lost their home court advantage of their fanbase. This team was also literally grieving the death of a former franchise icon.
Equalized Competition: Without travel fatigue or arena distractions, many opponents and underdog players performed at elevated levels in a pure, neutral environment.
Difficulty of competition: Portland TrailBlazers entered the playoffs on an absolute tear led by Lillard who captured Bubble MVP playing at an unstoppable level. In the 2nd round faced two former MVPs in Westbrook and Harden still in their absolute prime. In the conference Finals faced a resilient Denver team that just completed back to back 3-1 comebacks. Beat Jimmy Butler playing the absolute best basketball of his life.
Lastly, anybody that can make Kyle Kuzma an NBA champion deserves all the credit they can get.

For me, Luka is the favorite for the MVP title.
I don’t think Wemby will win it; the Spurs are going to play with three guards, which means his defensive workload will increase significantly. That’s essentially what Draymond is saying—even though Wemby is an alien, he’ll have to make a lot of sacrifices to keep the team balanced.

Pacers are winning the 2027 Finals
They play team basketball. Haliburton is insanely good. Siakam, Kelly Oubre, Topin, McConnell, etc. I think they have a good coach too. 1 game from winning the finals in 2025.

Does Giannis’ 2021 championship mean more than both of KD’s Warriors championships combined? Or is that nonsense, and all rings should be valued equally?

Drafthoops just released a singleplayer game mode and its basically 82-0 on steroids
Basically the title. If you never checked out Drafthoops, its another one of those nba web games. They just released a singleplayer mode where you draft a fantasy team and play through the 2026-2027 season. It plays like a board game almost, its super sweet and addictive.
So far the highest record on the leaderboard for this week's challenge is 72-10.

If LeBron is the GOAT how did Duncan, Kobe, Curry, KD, Kawhi win multiple rings during his career?

Jason Whitlock thinks LeBron James failed Bronny and pushed him into failure: "You gotta be Patrick Beverley to survive at that size"
LeBron did not allow his two sons to play football when they were little kids.
