So CT gets to gas out, allowed to sit out and receive free fluids, while his team can just move on without him and receive zero penalty, then once he feels better he can just rejoin them as if nothing happened? What the hell?? Bullshit final for a bullshit season.

What was that?! The girls couldn’t use their hands to balance, why could the orange team?! That is a serious advantage because CT (who I love and adore) never would have been able to do that. And production totally tried to hide it with camera work too. Sketchy!!!!

I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion or not but I feel like the "America's Fifth Sport" rebrand is what doomed the show. For a few reasons:

- Casting a significant number of actual athletes led to a lot of rookies declining to return or their personalities don't pop enough on camera to be asked back.

For clarity, when I say "athlete," I mean not just professional athletes, of which there have been many, but also people like Sydney, Yeremi, Horacio, etc.

- More than that, it made it so vets who were practiced at making good TV started going home way sooner and retiring way earlier.

Because of both of those things, we're stuck in this cycle of new athletic rookies + the same handful of legacy vets.

Because rookies don't stick anymore, we can't build long-lasting story arcs.

Gone are the days where you can watch someone grow into a challenger over the course of several seasons. Gone are the personality hires that are only there to have fun and start fights.

You can love or hate Kyle, Amanda, Ashley, Devin, etc. But chances are you *do* have an opinion on them. Most of the new cast, I struggle to form any thought of them at all.

Not to mention, we're watching in real time these legacy vets deteriorate. What's going to be left when Johnny and CT actually retire?

I feel like if the show wants to survive, they need to stop pulling the most athletic people from their feeder shows and focus instead on pulling the most entertaining.

TLDR; more Deb Chubb.

ETA for clarity: when I say "athlete," I mean as a casting archetype. I'm not recommending they stop casting athletic people. I mean the archetype of people *just* here for the competition has grown too prominent. It used to be mostly people who wanted to make good TV with a few who just wanted to compete. Now it's the opposite.

So, CT gets evaluated by medical, but the orange team gets to move on while he’s being evaluated. This creates an advantage as he was their slowest player, but now he can catch up to them as they work on the puzzles.

I understand not wanting to force the team to wait with CT, as this could make players not want to be evaluated by medical when they need it. You also don’t want players dragging someone who’s in need of medical care, like famously CT did to Big Easy.

And for what it’s worth, it looked like CT was overheated as opposed to just being exhausted. (Although he looked exhausted too.)

But they could’ve just had team orange wait with CT, and then called a producer who’s near team grey, and had them stop and wait as well. This way both teams get the same break, and nobody can advance until CT is cleared.

That way they can make sure CT isn’t in danger of hurting himself, while not giving anyone a significant advantage. It does take time and there’s only so many hours in the day to film, but I think it’s a better solution than what they did.

Tori's message to Will about making sure CT is medically DQ'd.

When I first saw it, I thought of it as a vile and terrible move as a human being as that's just insane, but when I gathered my thoughts, I remembered this season is cutthroat.

Is she in the wrong for trying to do that? It fits the theme of the show, and there have probably been worse things done on this show, and realistically, CT has held them back, and knowing what his prime is this season is so disappointing. He was way better on War of the Worlds 2, and he was big then too. Without him, they would probably be way ahead of the grey team, and its probably helped them catch up as they didn't need to run with CT for a small period.

This is the 4th time I’ve personally seen The Challenge in the Top 10 on Paramount+. Just shouting out to all of us fans for watching. This gives me hope that there is a future after this season.

According to TMZ the divorce is finalized so now CT can focus on his fake relationship with Phaedra🤭.

I’m still not buying it. Neither one has posted anything about the other on social media since that awards show appearance.

Faysal aka Fessy joins me on the Chillin with Dylan Pod! He ends up leaving halfway through and blocking me, so I definitely recommend listening because it's the first time I've ever been blocked...

- He also talks about Total Madness and how he thought he was boring so he did more dramatic things on Double Agents and Spies, Lies, & Allies to keep getting called back.

- Was willing to talk about the Tori romantic rumors.

I’ll start with the most glaring topic of the final which was CT. For all the talk of how much they needed him throughout the final he solved one puzzle for them. I know a lot of his fans say his legacy is bulletproof as the goat but these last 3 seasons have finally started to make a dent in my opinion. I’m torn as far as no punishment for him being evaluated but in the WOTW1 final when Ninja passed out and got checked she was cleared with no penalty.

Stock up on Will for the first part of the final. Not only was he keeping up with a bad knee but he solved multiple puzzles. He’s definitely impressed so far.

On the other side of the vet coin from CT is Bananas. Again showing he’s competing at a high level. Leading the way on most of the running and checkpoints plus swimming out to get the case. It’s hard to give CT a pass when Bananas is lapping him as a competitor right now.

I’ve seen Tori get a lot of hate for the comment of running CT into the ground. I understand the frustration in the heat of the moment when CT is literally holding their team back when it was her decision to keep him there. I think it may be some of the pressure as well with all the finals she’s lost. Honestly like the aggression from Tori who tries to play nice too often.

As far as the gray team goes credit to Adrienne. She’s kept up endurance wise and has not held the team back in any way. Cara as well with some of the eating and swimming has pulled her weight. Lete is still a beast but has made mistakes with the balancing barrel and the puzzles. Cassidy may be the weak link of the team but credit to her for pushing thru.

As far as the format of the final, I do like the balance of running, puzzles, and physical checkpoints. I’ve also seen people complain about timing out on puzzles. I agree there should a time limit on puzzles for multiple reasons. First, you can see that it’s night and neither team has completed all checkpoints. For safety issues I can see why it’s needed to end at a reasonable time. Second, they are filming a reality show that needs drama. If one team is stuck on a puzzle for 3 hours while the other team pulls away completely ruins any suspense. On ride or dies when Bananas/Nany couldn’t complete the cinderblock puzzle the last portion of the episode was sitting and waiting for Devin/Tori to finish.

Welcome to the weekly Negativity Thread!

We get it: This show can be frustrating. Production makes indefensible decisions. The rights holders make it impossible to watch old seasons. The cast can be boring or lazy or cruel or all of the above.

We all need to rant and complain a little, and this is a discussion forum, not a monastery. The last thing the mods want is to shut down valid criticism of the show or the cast.

But we also don't want quality community members and prospective community members turned off by a main feed where every third post is "I don't like Cara Maria anymore" or "Aneesa is so entitled!" or "Why do they keep casting [insert Big Brother cast member]???" If you were around during Final Reckoning, you know what I'm talking about.

So we politely remove those submissions and send them here. On the Negativity Thread, you are not only allowed to rant and complain, you are encouraged! 😈

Lay it on us: What is pissing you off this week? Which cast member have you had enough of? I bet a lot of others feel the same way!

It’s part 1 of the finale, will lete make friendship bracelets or participation trophies instead of trying? Will Michele do well and be set up for her first win? Will ct gas out immediately? Will the girls do well? Will someone get eliminated?
