Help How much did your body hair decrease/change?

I know facial hair doesn’t disappear on HRT, but how much does HRT actually do for your body hair?
Since laser removal takes so much time, I’m asking this now, so if necessary I might as well get rid of other parts right away too

The hair gets thinner and softer but there shouldn't be much more of a difference. For me it feels like it grows slower so that's something. I got one of those IPL things for at home and got rid of 95% of chest hair like half a year ago and it doesn't really regrow beyond the 5% left which doesn't bother me much. Makes me question though if it might work on other body parts too

IPL can work anywhere as long as the skin is fair and the hair follicle dark. Facial hair will be more difficult as these are generally thicker and deeper then general body hair, but can be effective over time. There is a possibility of getting a weird interaction where the ipl actually increases hair growth, so be aware and do more reading if anyone is thinking about trying this.

I started ipl in August and I've been hitting my arm pits, chest, tummy, and bikini area. I've seen a significant drop in hair growth in those areas. They are a lot slower to grow and are definitely thinner now.

As much as I realized later that I probably could have IPL’d my chest at home, no regrets about having Milan just annihilate it. It let me start wearing women’s tops without concerns and it wasn’t enough of a financial burden to regret.

Leg and arm hair is definitely significantly reduced. I still go over my arms and pits every now and then.

Face is basically laser if you can, electrolysis for what laser doesn’t work on. Even if it chills out a bit, fully virilized facial hair is thick enough that you can see it below the skin as shadow unless it is very light.

It should. I use it on my legs and it seems to help

Do you still have to IPL your chest these days or is it gone-gone?

I get some hair after 2-3 weeks which I just shave but the rest is gone

Which IPL brand did you get if I may ask?

I still get arm, armpit and leg hair but it grows ALOT slower and thinner. My chest hair basically stopped growing entirely. HRT hasn’t done anything for my face I did laser

LOL, my body hair went from dark and abundant to nothing. I am mostly hairless all over my body except for my head, my face and my coochie.

My facial hair went from shaving daily twice a day to just a little cleaning up during my morning routine. What used to grow overnight, now grows in about five to six days

I’m very happy with my results. And yes, it took time and T deprivation.

Iiiim going to start this with YMMV, for obvi reasons...

For me, soooo much. I wasn't super hairy before, but it was noticeable and I did have to shave a lot. Now, years in, everything but my legs is basically invisible unless light is shined at just the right angle. I don't think my back even grows hair anymore. My legs will still get to the point where the hair actually is visible and brown, but it takes like literally a month. I still shave pretty much everything now and then, but purely for tactile reasons.

Also, just in case it isn't known by all, armpit hair and hair in the bikini region is the same type of hair as facial. I got laser in those areas too and I'm super happy about it because it was impossible to shave those areas without breaking out. It is really expensive though, and personally I wouldn't laser anything else. But like I said, my hair is pretty accommodating.

For me body hair is almost gone. Hair on my arms is very light. Hair on my hands is gone completely. But, I wasn’t very hairy to begin with.

little change. the hair on my fingers actually recently turned blonde, though, but elsewhere there’s been little or no change. i suspect some of my chest hair may be blonding however i’m doing laser on my chest so it may be due to the laser.

After two years on HRT, all of my body hair has become finer, lighter and grows more slowly. Even my nose hair has thinned out considerably. That being said, I still ended up getting laser and/or electrolysis on my areolas, underarms, happy trail and Brazilian area.

A little bit, but keep in mind that they invented laser hair removal for cis women.

Hard to say how much, but I really don't have to shave anywhere near as much.

At just shy of a year and my hair is definitely softer and thinner and less dense in some spots but it's definitely still there. I can shave my body less for sure but I do still need to shave my arms and legs during the summer especially

it's thinned a little, and growth has for sure slowed down, but it hasn't disappeared from anywhere.

16 months E.

My back hair pretty went away, like 80% gone, and it's lighter and thinner. On legs and arms it's a bit less, mostly more "delicate". 28 months on HRT

Idk how common it is but it turn some of my facial hair blonde like im only 4 months in but i have just patches of blonde on my face lol

u/Round_Explorer1214 1d ago

Have you done laser already? At my first appointment they told me laser doesn’t work on blonde hair and you’d need to do everything on electrolysis🫣
Don’t want to scare you, just prepare yourself if you haven’t don’t laser already

1

u/Not-Leah 1d ago

Well that was kinda already the plan so it’s whatever plus I can’t control what changes so no point of stressing it to much

u/lewdbin 1d ago

For me, it only slowed down my facial hair growth slightly without affecting it much otherwise, but it's made the hair on my torso, arms and legs muuuuch easier to deal with. Hair on those areas has become a lot thinner and grows much more slowly.

A lot. Like a like whole lot over the years. I still needed Electrolysis on some tummy and underarm hair though.

My body hair, with the exception of my chest hair, has thinned, lifhtened and slowed to the point I’m no longer dysphoric about it. I shave when I notice it, but I don’t really notice it much.

Chest hair has slowed and thinned, but not as quickly, and I still shave it every couple days.

Facial hair has slowed and lightened, to where I doubt I could do laser anymore, but I can shave it pretty quickly. I blade shave in the morning, then do an electric touch-up in the evening, and my shadow is pretty much nonexistent.

How long did this take?

u/relentlessreading 23h ago

I’m at 22 months right now, but I think I really started noticing the changes around 6-8 months.

1

u/Uchuujin51 1d ago

Not much change. I'm shaving my everything pretty much every other day, more often if I want to feel cute or sexy for something.

1

u/devricklion 1d ago

Oh.. How it went for your legs hairs?? Might have to do laser?

1

u/LizWizBiz 21h ago

On 22 months of HRT, it's definitely lighter and thinner all around. Arm hair is very light and manageable and it seems like it comes in slower now. Chest hair is almost non-existent, which is nice cause that was a huge point of dysphoria for me. Leg hair is unfortunately about the same as it was, but growth might have slowed down a tad. The real kicker is facial hair. Everything else I can live with or work around, but facial hair still sucks. It's definitely MUCH lighter than it used to, but even then the light hair comes in weird uneven patches. It grows at the same rate though, so I still need to shave every day. Need to finally book that laser appointment...

I have very fine and sparse body hair

Anywhere that I have used as an injection site with a radius of around 3 inches is fully bald. It's pretty astonishing and I am slowly but surely defuzzing myself.
