Roadster w/ Ilmberger Racer Carbon Fairing

So, this is going to happen. I professionally color matched the Puig Daytona Faring, and love how it turned out with the alum tank/seatcowl/etc. But I bought this 2018 R Ninet with 1600 miles on it because if i found one in good condition AND had the exposed weld-tank and upside down forks with spoked wheels. If I could not find this anymore I would go with the Thruxton or the XSR 900 GP. I love each bike for different things, the Thruxton mainly for that amazing fairing that came as an option, and the XSR GP for, well, everything, but I know this is controversial but i love that front fairing design with the bulbous shape and minimalistic rectangle light. So with this Ilmberger I feel my vision is really snapping into focus with elements i have tried to synthesize from all 3. I will need to fab custom brackatry but i might source a bracket from a totaled Racer. Any leads? Any advice any of it??

Continuing the loud right side clacking saga..I think I found the issue. Is this normal or is there supposed to be a rubber damper there??

55K miles

Picked it up for $600.

Will need to clean clean tank, oil change, new battery, front brake master cylinder rebuild, brake fluid,

What else should I check on it?

From the seller

“It is a 96 r1100 rs.
I got it from my brother I law in 2012. He got it 1990. He put 50,000 miles on it. He was a mechanic so he took excellent care of it. I only put 5,000 miles on it then parked it in 2020. It was running well when I applied for non op in 2021. I lost interest when a friend of mine died!

F800GT owner. Can’t decide on upgrade!

I’ve got an F800GT. Love the bike. My only issue is the parallel twin makes my fingers numb after a long ride, so I’m looking at possible replacements.

Been riding a CBF1000 and I love the smoothness of the straight four.

Can’t decide between R1200/1250RT, K1300S or the S1000XR

I do a mix of touring and spirited riding on the twisties, and I’m trying to avoid having three bikes in the garage.

Your experiences would be appreciated!

Is it normal for one side of the bike to be louder than the other? My right injector is much louder than the left.

BMW Navigator speaks Irish

After a recent update, my BMW Connected Ride app connected to my bike speaks Irish. Street names on the bike’s screen are also in Irish
Have anyone faced this?

I contacted the dealership and BMW support, but had no success.
I thought it may get fixed, but nothing changes.

I would appreciate any advice.

Toolkit question. bmwR1200r 2012

Possible new member.. 😎
Now about on 2nd oil change, thought I had all the tools, but nothing I have now fits the oil drain plug.
My old apt complex was unsavory, and feeling I've been nicked. Even though the toolkit has always been locked under the seat.

BMW Type 4 fork oil Viscosity

Hi, does anyone know the exact viscosity (cSt at 40°C) of BMW Type 4 fork oil used in the F900R? Any equivalent from Motul, Motorex, or IPONE?

I met this guy while riding in an industrial area. He had some pretty interesting BMW builds.

Bug or not Rideology ?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello everyone,

I’d like to share a rather amusing experience I had with the Kawasaki Rideology app on my Versys 650.

Yesterday, while riding, I glanced at my instrument cluster: the fuel gauge was down to a single, flashing bar (the classic "low fuel" warning).

Out of curiosity, I opened the Rideology app on my phone to check the onboard computer data. And—surprise! The app proudly displayed a "Remaining Range" of 231 km!

Needless to say, if the Versys were actually capable of covering 231 km on reserve, word would have gotten around by now... 😂

Has anyone else experienced this kind of complete desynchronization or display glitch between the bike and the app?

Safe riding, everyone!

Anyone have experience with this indication light?

This is on an R Nine T. To my knowledge it’s pointing to some kind of a light malfunction.

It’s come on in the past due to the headlight low-beam being out. Easy fix.

But now, all the lights are working. Head light high beam and low-beam, turn signals (left and right) front and back, tail light, brake light, and license plate light. Even the gauge lights are good. Am I missing any?

I think it’s about time to change the battery. But even with the battery tender on, and at full charge, as soon as I turn the key on, the warning light comes on.

UPDATE: It was the second bulb that is at the bottom of the headlight under the main bulb.

Ok, what is the kickstand size for a g310gs?

I bought an aftermarket stand after I lowered my bike. It’s a 2018 g310gs. The replacement stand has a mounting width of 9mm. The OEM stand appears to be more like 12mm. What gives?

Can anyone with a BMW 2007 R1200RT confirm the correct orientation of the metal glare shield supports?
Should both face 9 o’clock, or should they be mirror images at 9 and 3 o’clock?

Pannier frame, R1300GS

Giving the 1300 GS some serious thought. I prefer soft panniers (Lumo) so I'm look for a affordable generic frame that can be attached to the GS1300 frame that in turn will support throw over soft panniers. Putting this out there to see if anyone has found a solution. This is a bit of a show stopper. Thanks.

Sena oder Cardo Duo-Pack bis 350€? (Einsteiger & Gruppe)

Servus zusammen,
Dazu kurz drei Fragen:

Picked up a nail in my rear tire - repairable?

Post image
9 Upvotes

Found this nail in my rear tire today (photo attached).

The tire is losing pressure, but very slowly. I've been monitoring it and it's definitely leaking, just not rapidly.

Looking for opinions from riders who've dealt with something similar:

  • Does this look repairable based on the location?
  • Would you trust a proper repair on a puncture like this, or replace the tire?
  • If a shop repairs it, do they need to remove the wheel from the bike?
  • Do they also need to remove the tire from the rim and patch it from the inside?

The tire still had plenty of life left, so I'm hoping it's salvageable.
