I took a fan translated PDF and designed the cover before printing using an online website. I even branded my initials on the back

... DISAPPOINTED IT ENDED. Oh my GOSHHH where do I even begin. This anime means so, so much to me and captivated me right from the very first episode. I so vividly remember biting the bullet and starting it after having concluded a particularly challenging exam season in September, since it'd been on my to-watch list for a long time. If I hadn't exercised some form of self-control, I am almost certain I'd have finished the show in a week. Alas, I was somehow able to resist by repeatedly reminding myself that I would have something to look forward to after studying each day. I love, love, loved the historical post-WWII setting and as a med student, I will always appreciate Dr. Tenma's unwavering devotion to his principles as a doctor (especially as he saved Johan's life a second time). Doctors are not the arbiters of justice and, to me, Dr. Tenma's journey is such a salient and beautiful reminder that no one is inherently more valuable than another, and every human life deserves the same chance to be saved. Watching him throughout the show, struggling with it, suffering for it, and ultimately choosing to stand firm on it will always be such an inspiration.

Since completing the last episode, I've literally been doing nothing but scouring reddit threads for any confirmation on the ending (specifically Johan lol), knowing full well anyone's guess is as good as mine... but I wouldn't want it any other way. Now onto chasing this high for the rest of my life :(

Discussion🗣🎙 My thoughts on yohan as a monster

• Upvotes

When in reality he was just showing what you truly are.

He showed you who you are by acting as your reflection, that you can look at and not avert your eyes from, in the end you accepted that part.

The parts you run away from to be considered a good human

He made them feel seen and validated, thus letting that side grow in you.

That's why he is a monster,

Not because he is one but he can turn you into one.
