Agency in India here. We manage our own ad accounts plus several client accounts across unrelated niches, domains and creatives.
Since roughly 8–9pm EST yesterday, early morning IST, around 60–70% of these accounts have had ads rejected under Meta's Spam policy, usually citing "deceptive links."
I don't think this is something we or one client caused:
- Different clients, domains and creatives were hit in the same window.
- Most affected ads were long-running with stable histories.
- There were no recent changes to their creatives or landing pages.
- Every affected account received the same rejection reason.
I haven't found an official Meta statement confirming a platform-wide issue. The recent Instagram CTR reporting bug appears to be separate.
We are currently seeing three outcomes:
- Standard rejection: Appealing restores many ads within minutes, but some are rejected again shortly afterward.
- Approved but "post deleted": This is the expensive one because the original engagement and learning history may be lost. Some people have found the supposedly deleted post by searching its post ID, which suggests it may be hidden rather than permanently deleted.
- Learning reset: Some restored ads are dropping back into the learning phase even when the original post survives.
What we're doing for now:
- Not deleting any affected ads or posts.
- Appealing once through Account Quality or Meta AI in Ads Manager.
- Avoiding repeated appeals until we know whether they trigger additional reviews.
- Searching for missing posts by post ID.
- Trying to reselect the existing post or destination where an approved ad says "post deleted."
- Checking redirects, link shorteners and tracking domains to rule out legitimate Spam-policy violations.
- Waiting 24 hours before duplicating or rebuilding anything.
- Rebuilding only important revenue-driving ads whose original posts are still unavailable after that window.
Questions for anyone further along:
- Has a "post deleted" ad recovered its original post ID and engagement after waiting?
- Has reselecting the existing post or destination cleared the error for you?
- Did restored ads keep their learning history, or did they return to learning?
- Has anyone received written confirmation from a human Meta support representative that this is a known bug?
- Has anyone seen evidence that repeated appeals make the situation worse?
- Is anyone outside the US, EU, Brazil and India seeing the same thing?
Please include your country, approximate time of the first rejection, and whether you're seeing standard rejections or approved ads with deleted posts. Those may be two different problems.
We're not sharing any agency or client links because this is a troubleshooting post, not promotion. I'll update the thread with what happens after the 24-hour window.
