Murder Mystery Party
A few weeks ago I was at a Clue themed murder mystery party with a couple friends. Because I'm a grad student, they assigned me the role of Professor Plum. The mystery was a bit strange -- Apparently, the victim was murdered by an attacker disguised as a bunch of bushes. The perpetrator had snuck into the mansion, taken a shower, and had a cup of tea afterwards as though nothing were out of the ordinary. I was comparing notes with my friend Joe, portraying Mr. Green, and his husband Morph, playing Colonel Mustard when the answer appeared to me.
"Mustard!" I yelled. "I know you're guilty!"
Everyone was befuddled. Joe asked me why I was so sure even though we had so little evidence.
I told him it was simple. As a student of algebra, I knew that the Colonel of a homo (Morph is him) is a normal shrub group.

The Fantana Theorem:
Given an event E and a system S , if S operates successfully with absolute certainty in any given percentage p of all trials, then:
P(S=1|E) = 1 & P(E) = p
Therefore, by the The Fantana Theorem, assuming failure outside E:
P(S=1) = P(S=1|E) • P(E)
=(1.00)(p)
P(S=1) = p
Q.E.D.
Corollary: The system is infallible whenever it works, which occurs precisely at any given percentage of the time.
In simpler terms (using Fantana’s exact words, in the first known expression of his theorem to state the efficacy of his methods):
“Sixty percent of the time, it works every time.”
Edit: spelling
