Question about Sega Master Sports Pad controller
In joystick mode, it can be used in many game systems like Atari and the ball can provide excellent control for games like Missile Command.
I have been trying to find a schematic of it but it seems to not exist, do any of you know if one's up somewhere or not? I wanted to check how it worked in joystick mode, specifically the directional output. Does it float and go 0v in pulses, or does it go 5v and 0v in pulses?
Reason being Commodore 64 can use Atari and Sega Master System control pad but it needs an adapter to use Sega Genesis controller, certain 3rd party SMS controller, and Sega Rapid Fire adapter for SMS because the interface chip inside C64, the CIA, is a fiddy beast and it also handles both controller ports and keyboard at the same time. If it tries to scan the keyboard by pulling a pin high, and it happens to be one of the directional pin on the controller port that is held high, the CIA will blow. Genesis adapter merely puts diodes on the directional pins to block high signal.
