Discussion New Rule Enforcement:Crop Those pics
Starting next week cropped photos will be enforced.
For those who don't know there is a new policy in the sub in which standards for photo submissions. Which include cropping the photo at just below the clavicle like a passport photo unless its relevance to the makeup in question. Like a wedding dress.
Best practices for better feedback include:
- take a little time to plan out your photos
- take photos straight on in a well lit room
- avoid harsh lighting like flash
- use soft lighting sources
- get someone else to take the photos
- taking additional photo angles 45 degree and profiles
- tying hair back so it doesnt cover your makeup.
thank you.

Question How do I improve my makeup look?
I typically go for a more natural look. Just looking for some tips as a beginner. I can never quite figure out where the best blush placement is. And any time I try to do eye liner it looks like a toddler drew on my eyelids. Thanks 😊

Question Am I missing anything important?
I kinda feel like I would benefit from a round brush for foundation?
Anything else I'm probably missing in this kit?

Selfie/Makeup Picture What’s ’off’ about my make up to you? Help please 🩷
Hello!
I’m after some opinions please - something about my make up is making me look dull, flat and grey-ish.
My products are;
Estée Lauder - double wear (Ecru 1N2)
BeautyPie - Awesome Bronze Gorgeous Sun-kissed Bronzing Cream (Goldielux)
Estée Lauder - Dewy Cheek Tint (Across the Dancefloor)
Rimmel Thrillseeker Megalift Mascara
Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil
I’ve recently had colour analysis done which puts me as a light spring (neutral leaning warm) and I think the foundation shade is too cool for me - what do you guys think?
I’m used to my eyebrows being tinted quite dark and I’m trying them being more natural - not sure if it’s actually working for me or not.
Is there anything you recommend I add to my routine to not look so flat and dull?
Happy to try anything but as I have two kids I can’t add loads of steps as I have roughly 5 mins to do make up in the morning 😂😂
Thanks so much!

Picture Tutorial Easy Hello Kitty Makeup Tutorial | Halloween Makeup for Beginners
Come recreate the viral Zara Larsson-inspired Hello Kitty makeup look with me! In this Halloween makeup tutorial, I’m creating a cute pink Hello Kitty-inspired look featuring frosty smoky eyes, winged eyeliner, rosy blush, a red bow, whiskers, and glossy pink lips.
I’m not a professional makeup artist, so this is a fun, beginner-friendly attempt at recreating the look using makeup products I already own. The bow was definitely an adventure, but we made it work! 😂💕

Question Need help building a make up routine!
I've been given the task of doing my best friend's make up for her prom! She trusts me more than any "professional" make up artists in our area as we're in a really small town and our options are...bad
Need help with:
I know what to do with the eye and lip looks, but its everything connected to the skin that i struggle with picking for her- therefore im looking for recommendations on: primer, foundation, highlighter, blush, contour
Any feedback is very welcome and appreciated
Our criteria:
- a long long long last, we're talking like 18-24 hours, as it is for a prom!
-She's never worn make up before as she's not a fan of it so we want the final look to be as natural and skin-like as possible, we dont want it to look like she's got a mask on her face
- her skin is veery sensitive, she gets pimples from almost anything and her skin dislikes heavy products. Even some of my MOST lightweight products have still been too heavy for her
- as skin type - hers is right in the golden middle. Not oily nor dry, just normal
Budget wise:
We are unemployed teenagers lol, so affordable products are to be preferred BUT if there is genuinely a product thats EXCEPTIONALLY AMAZING we're willing to spend some more.
Worth mentioning:
We're in europe, specifically the balkans, so if a recommendation consists of products not available in the EU they sadly won't be of any help :(
Thank you to anyone taking time out of their day to help, its genuinely appreciated!
P.S. yes I've done my own research before posting this, but i would very much like to hear the opinion of people first hand
And yes im aware the products im looking are almost too good to be true 🥲

Question Should I wear falsies in 8th grade?
Hii I'm a girl in 8th grade, with a sister in 11th grade who doesn't wear false lashes or that much makeup. I think my sister and maybe even my mom would judge me if I started wearing false lashes.
In my defense, They would get handy for my halloween costume this year. I also wear somewhat alternative makeup to school (starting out but I want to get more makeup on xmas to make it look more alternative)
I also love experimenting with makeup looks, like doing gyaru makeup for fun at home etc. Should I buy the false lashes or wait??
(PS: I want my halloween costume this year to be very good since its my last year at my middle school)

Question Does the liquid shadow last on oily lids?
Skip the RMS Eye Polish immediately because its coconut oil and beeswax base will melt on shiny lids within two hours. Instead, choose either ILIA's Liquid Powder Chromatic Eye Tint or the new 10-shade liquid-to-powder shimmer, as both easily pass the six-hour mark, blend effortlessly with a finger in under a minute, and deliver a soft, non-foily metallic finish. Do not set these with a translucent powder afterward, as that mutes the reflective sheen and can cause pilling over water-based formula instead, dust a tiny touch of loose powder onto bare lids before application or simply let the liquid dry down for 60 seconds without blinking hard.

Question What eyeliner style would suit my eye shape?
Hi! I've been wanting to explore makeup and one of the things I want to experiment with is eyeliner. I'm not really sure exactly what my eye shape is and what styles would complement it. Any recommendations would be helpful!
